Our 2nd story home is sure to delight you. Think girl's getaway, men's golf trip or family staycation! Enter our cozy enclosed staircase off of Commerce Street and head upstairs to enjoy our completely renovated, modern suite.

Our suite features high, restored tin ceilings throughout our. You'll enter into a spacious kitchen featuring NEW everything - lighting, appliances, countertops. You will love creating meals and conversing in this beautiful space. You'll have access to a Hamilton Beach Programmable 7 qt Crockpot, a Hamilton BeachParty Dipper Crockpot, Blender and hand mixer in addition to the dishes, silverware, glassware, pots, pans, etc. Step off into the living room and check out the view of bustling Commerce St. Sit and relax in front of the 42" electric fireplace and 55" Sambung Crystal UHD 4K Smart TV. It will be a favorite hang out spot for sure! Our bedrooms are at each end of the home affording you the most privacy. This property was the perfect location for my sisters and I on our trip. All of the downtown shopping and restaurants were within an easy walking distance. The dedicated parking spot was an amazing perk. And the interior of the apartment is exactly as described it couldn’t have been nicer.

Shopping, restaurants, and trolly ride, just around the corner. Very convenient. Easy access to the walking trails and Grant Park. Comfortable, clean, and loved the decor. Small bottles of shampoo,etc. in bathroom, many amenities as stated. Good customer service. We would stay there again and recommend. We loved the Trolley ride (so informative) and Stonedrift Spa (a short 12 min drive) and Poopsies store (unexpected fun store with very friendly owner!). Only negative is that the ceiling fan in the bedroom next to AC was a little noisy, but wouldn't deter me from staying here again!

Great get-away place.

Condo is very clean, rooms were great loved the kitchen area had all kinds of kitchen supplies. Loved being able to walk everywhere to all historic sites, shopping and restaurants. We had a great time.

The building is on Lot 27 on the East side of Main St
July 1836 The 1st survey of Galena was completed (new law required by Congress), it was determined that the property was owned by Michael Murphy
June 1837 Murphy sold to Buckner Lane for, $1,400
August 1837 Lane sold to William Van Zandt for, $1,400
1839 Van Zandt sold to Gustavius P Billion for $2,100
1841-1851 For ten years there were levies against the property, lawsuits, etc. 2/3 of the property was owned by numerous people.
1856 Nicholas Stahl bought Lot 27 at public auction for $600
1857 Wm Snyder bought Lot 27 at public auction for $639
August 1868 At this point there were still two parcels of land – The front on Main St and the South on Commerce St. A Common wall was built in the middle and had two owners.
August 1868 Richard Barrett bought out Snyder’s 1/3 of the building for $1,150
1917 Barrett family sold to Charles Simon $5,500
January 1919 R.A. Grant bought Lot 27 for $8,000 (no relation to the President)
April 1934 Grant sold to Charles Kastner for $6,000
June 1953 Kastner sold to Edward Burke for $5,400
February 1973 Sam and Fran Byers (our grandparents) bought Lot 27 for $19,000 (although they moved into this building in Galena in 1963)
2009 Zeal Brothers Trust was established and became owners of the building
