About the host
Hosted by Timea
I was born in Budapest, Hungary. I lived in Austria as a child, and spent most of my life growing up and raising 3 boys in Ontario. I moved to the beautiful Cape Breton Island in 2019 to escape the city life. Although I loved living close to a city, I love living in the middle of mountains, along a river much more. This is my paradise!
Why they chose this property
North River Lodge is a well known house on the Murray Road in North River Bridge, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. It has a history which spans over 120 years. It even has an over 125 year old apple tree in the backyard which bears fruit each and every year. The house is located along the beautiful North River nestled between mountains, at the foot of Murray Mountain and only a few kilometres from the trail system to access the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. The property is directly off of the World Famous Cabot Trail with beautiful views close by, within walking and driving distance.
What makes this property unique
North River Lodge is my home and when I don't have guests I enjoy living here and spending most of the winters here. It is over 1700 square feet of amazing space to use for 2 guests or up to 11 guests. There is plenty of space to dine together, hang out, watch TV or have a musical night with the piano and guitar present. The 75" Smart TV is sure to entertain everyone, just log into your apps or Internet and Youtube to watch your favourite shows. The house is full of 120 year old history and has its quirks and noises, such as the creaky staircase. Kitchen is loaded with pots & pans, dishes, utensils, different style glasses and loads of mugs. The spice drawers has just about all spices and seasonings for your cooking enjoyment. The kitchen is newer with stainless steel appliances and the oven has an air fry setting for quick and no mess fried foods. The fridge will have you typical condiments and pantry cupboard has your baking supplies and coffee. Keurig Coffee maker is regular brew or pods, coffee is present as well as instant coffee, teas, sugars and whitener. Just bring your basic foods with you. And if there is anything you need please message me and I will do my best to supply what you may need.
Please remember this is my home I am sharing with you. I leave some personal things and special things in the house which compliment the decor or the vibe of the house, such as the stuffed Labrador doggy who guards the upper floor and you will find him peaking over the edge of upper steps. (Don't worry he doesn't bite)
