We all love the Oak Cottage. The location is great, close to the shops, cafes, and restaurants. The house itself is very good, too, perfect for a family getaway with young kids.Communication with the host was very efficient.
Lovely and clean, excellent facilities with all you could want inside.A bit hard to find as no number on the cottage (bit confusing at first). Cold bathroom, didn’t know if there was a heater available.Edge of kitchen tile a bit sharp as it has no strip covering it.Power box very close to main bedroom door and nearly hit it a few times.Overall comfortable and clean.Cockatoos are very cheeky and love to bomb the cottage with the acorns they chew !

This is a cosy, unpretentious cottage just off the main street in Daylesford. It is warm, and very well equipped with furniture and kitchen equipment. The larder was well stocked too. We had a delightful four nights there.
Everything we needed was there and the air conditioner did a great job keeping us warm during a wet and cloudy weekend. Short walk to centre of Daylesford and the lake spring
We had a lovely time in Daylesford. My 10 year old loved exploring and catching skinks. While the adults loved drinking coffee on the sunny balcony. Very close to the lake and shops. Perfect location.
The cabin was clean and had everything we needed Would definitely stay here again
Thank you Emily and Owen
Comfortable, spacious, good amenities. Nice space on balcony with treetop outlooks. Lovely walk down to the lake and short walk to town. Good to not always rely on the car! We enjoyed our break and will be back. Cheers
This property was just what I was looking for. It was in a great location being only a short walk to the lake and to the main street. The weather was cold, yet the place was very comfortable and warm. Although we didn't get a chance to play any games there were heaps of board games and DVDs. The kitchen was well stocked. There were two decent sized rooms and a good bathroom. It was perfect for a weekend away with my teenage daughter. The property owner communicated well with clear instructions given prior to arrival. I would recommend it.

When I arrived, the kitchen's rubbish bin was almost fulled.Lots of owners clothing hanging on the racks and their shoes on the floor. Not a single hanger for clothes in sight. Neither a wardrobe Fridge full of owner's foods. Bedroom has only one drawer for us to put clothing in, the rest was full of bedlinen.Toilet drawers also full of owner's stuffs. That made me feel like sharing the house with others at the same time. But I am the one paying the full amount !House location is very good, very close by the town and every where you wanted to go to.The place was too expensive for the condition, also a lots of personal photos of people who died.In the pass we have always rented from StayZ, including in the name of our son and grandson. This time StayZ let us down in big time.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m sorry to hear that the home didn’t fully meet your expectations.
I’d like to clarify a few points for future guests:
As mentioned in the listing and shown in the photos, this is our lived-in family home rather than a hotel or a property used exclusively for guest stays. When the house is not booked, our family stays here. This is also reflected in the nightly rate, which is considerably lower than similar homes in Daylesford that operate solely as short-term accommodation.
Regarding storage, the coats and shoes in the entrance foyer occupy only a couple of hooks, and there is still ample space for guests to hang their belongings. There is also a pull-down rack in the main bedroom for additional hanging space. The bed linen stored in the drawers is intentionally left for guests who may need extra sheets.
The fridge and pantry contain basic kitchen staples—such as butter, sauces, spices, condiments, butter, and spreads—which guests are welcome to use, especially if they haven’t had the chance to shop. There is plenty of room for guests to store their own groceries, and most guests find the stocked staples helpful, though I understand preferences can vary.
In the bathroom, the top two drawers are kept completely empty for guest use. Another drawer contains a hairdryer, and the remaining drawers and cupboards store spare linen, toilet rolls, and some of our personal items for when we stay at the property.
I’m pleased to hear that you enjoyed the home’s excellent location and its proximity to the town and local attractions.
We are very sorry that the bin was not emptied and this has been addressed with our cleaners. Thank you again for your feedback. It’s always appreciated, as it helps us ensure future guests have a comfortable stay.
