Tokaanu Thermal Baths just a few kilometers down the road and a super treat after a days skiing or walking the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, beautiful walks along the Tongariro River and adventurous mountain biking trails are abundant.

Our iSite visitors' centre will have all the information you need to know about our town's history and particularly the Hydro Scheme which started the town in 1960's.
