Welcome to the Norfolk Broads! On the ground floor there is a kitchen and a sociable living and dining area. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms and the family shower room. Excellent countryside views can be enjoyed from both front and rear windows.

There is excellent walking with footpaths direct from the doorstep, and a 30-minute stroll or 3-minute drive will take you into the popular village of Horning. The River Bure runs through the village and guests can enjoy relaxing on the riverside, or enjoy the waterside views from one of the many eateries. Sit back and watch the boating activities, or hire a motor launch and explore the miles of waterways. Sailing, motor day boat hire and river trips are available from Horning and Wroxham, and river fishing is available along local waterways (seasonal, licence required). A number of Broadland centres offer bike hire or canoe hire, possibly the most delightful way to discover the lovely reed lined waterways and abundant wildlife.

Nearby How Hill Nature Reserve, with its marsh meadows, dykes, woodland and open water, is well worth exploring. A few minutes away is BeWILDerwood, a magical tree top park which promises children a day to remember. There are excellent, wide sandy beaches at Mundesely, 11 miles, backed with sand dunes. The Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park at Lowestoft is 26 miles away, while Cromer, 21 miles, offers traditional seaside entertainment including a renowned end of pier show, Amazona Zoo, shops, restaurants and cafés. Bygone museums, craft centres, National Trust Felbrigg and Blickling Halls, and Horsey Windpump windmill are all within an easy drive. The medieval city of Norwich, 12 miles, has a magnificent cathedral, castle, galleries, museums, cinemas, theatres, excellent shopping, cafés and restaurants. The north Norfolk coastline has RSPB reserves, coastal path and many picturesque villages which boast pubs and restaurants serving superb locally caught seafood. There are seal watching boat trips from Blakeney Quay, 32 miles, and Morston Quay, 33 miles, while historic Holt is 27 miles away for shops, cafés, restaurants and Holt Lowes Country Park and trails. Beach 11 miles. Shop, pubs and restaurants ¾ miles.

Beautiful cottage renovation in a great location This immaculate, well-equipped semi-detached cotta
Beautiful cottage renovation in a great location This immaculate, well-equipped semi-detached cottage has been thoughtfully renovated with the comfort and convenience of holiday guests in mind. We stayed over Easter (two adults, two six year olds), and would happily stay again. Very generous landlady with a wonderful welcome pack. The upstairs has surprisingly good head height, and the roof veluxes, French doors off the kitchen and modern decor bring a light airy feel to the whole property. Extensive outside space with comfortable seating / dining set. Great use of available interior space with extra storage in the downstairs cloakroom and upstairs in the walk-in wardrobe. The large shower room with velux was a delight. The opulent sofa initially seemed large for the living space, but after an exhausting day at Bewilderwood it was very much appreciated! The front double bedroom has a better view over fields and the most comfortable bed, while the rear twin room overlooks neighbouring gardens and has better storage. The cottagey stairs are steep and narrow, but not at all tricky. Worth noting that this lovely little house, whilst in a pretty and serenely quiet location, is not the remote idyll that some holidaymakers may seek. It is part of a small terrace set off the main Horning / Wroxham road, somewhat reminiscent of quiet Victorian residential areas in Cambridge and Norwich. There is a pleasing sense of local community here, and neighbouring families were welcoming and considerate. This part of the Broads is great for young children and adults alike, with Hoveton Hall Gardens, Wroxham Barns and the villages of Horning and Wroxton such a short drive away, each offering lovely places to eat out. A lovely break at any time of the year.
