The local shop has a café and there are opportunities to indulge in some bistro style food or fine dining along with a good selection of wine and whisky. There are walks to suit all abilities from a gentle stroll along the loch side to more strenuous walks in the hills, and you can join the old railway route leading to Comrie. Look out for the ospreys on the loch in season.
St Fillans and the surrounding area is steeped in history and folk law of clan battles, outlaws and fairies with many historic houses, gardens and castles to visit. To complete your Scottish heritage experience, visit one of the local whisky distilleries offering tours and tutored tasting sessions. We had a 3 night stay at Lochearnside recently. The accommodation offered everything we could possibly want. The location was breathtaking. We spent most of the time, when not out walking with our dog Hugo, taking in the amazing view from the lounge window. It was warm and cosy, Richard and Carol were lovely and provided a great welcome pack. We will definitely return.
