A beautifully restored centuries-old triplex, full of soul and character.

Set in the heart of historic Alfama, Lisbon’s most authentic and picturesque neighbourhood.

Many of the city’s best-known monuments, traditional restaurants and fado houses are just a short walk away.

Ideal for families and groups, this property is arranged over three floors, connected by an open internal staircase:
• First floor: spacious bedroom suite and bathroom.
• Second floor: two bedrooms and one bathroom.
• Third floor: a living room, fully equipped kitchen and terrace, the perfect setting for breakfast, sunset drinks or a peaceful evening. A few additional steps lead to a private lookout with breathtaking views over the Tagus River and Alfama’s iconic rooftops.

Bathed in natural light, the interiors are rich in traditional Portuguese character. Large windows, classic iron balconies, decorative ceilings, vintage furniture, Portuguese tiles, golden details and crystal chandeliers create a distinctive and welcoming atmosphere.

Original oil paintings appear throughout the property, from canvases to painted furniture. Lines from poems, song lyrics and traditional fado add a unique touch, creating an immersive setting inspired by art, music and literature.

Bed linen, towels, shampoo, shower gel, hand soap and body lotion are provided. Amenities include Wi-Fi, cable TV, air conditioning, a dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, coffee machine, toaster and hairdryer. The apartment is also equipped with an alarm system and a safe.

Self check-in is available, with access codes sent before arrival. Early check-in and late check-out may be available upon request, subject to availability, at no extra cost.

Please note that the apartment is arranged over several floors connected by open staircases and has no lift. It is therefore not suitable for guests with reduced mobility and may not be suitable for young children.

The property is located on a narrow pedestrian-only street. The nearest taxi or ride-hailing drop-off point is in front of the Fado Museum, approximately a 3-minute walk away.

Fantastic Alfama Apartment

If you want a quiet Alfama property, this is the location I would choose again. There are many food and Fado locations close by and Uber is great option for shopping districts. The property is well appointed with great appliances, lovely sitting area/terrace, and tasteful artwork and furniture.

Beautiful artsy apartment in a great, lively neighborhood

Ana was the perfect host, extremely gracious and responsive, and the multi-level apartment was delightful. The location is slightly above the hub of the action in Alfama, and as such was ideal for exploring the city or just dropping in to a fado show mere steps from our front door.

Beautiful apartment in a great llcation

Ana’s property was just as described. The unit is well-appointed, clean, and comfortable. The location allowed us to walk to many Lisbon attractions and Ana was a great host. She even reached out during our stay to advise us of a nearby flea market that was only going to be open for a short time. Overall a great stay in Lisbon.

Alfama is one of Lisbon’s most picturesque and authentic neighbourhoods, known for its traditional fado houses, narrow streets and beautiful viewpoints.

Having survived the 1755 earthquake, the district has preserved much of its historic character. Its winding lanes, small squares, churches, tiled façades and flower-filled balconies create the atmosphere of a village within the city.

Alfama is best explored on foot and is especially rewarding for photographers and visitors who want to experience traditional Lisbon.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR JUNE:
Alfama is at the heart of Lisbon’s famous June festivities. Throughout the month, traditional street parties known as “arraiais” fill the neighbourhood with music, dancing, drinks and grilled sardines. The atmosphere is lively and unforgettable, but it can also be noisy. Guests looking for peace and quiet during June may prefer another neighbourhood. For those who want to be at the centre of the festivities, there is no better place.
