About this property
Enjoy one of the best views overlooking the Salcombe estuary
The house is very private, nobody walking past your door. It benefits from one of the best views in Salcombe overlooking Whitestrand Quay and on towards South Pool in the distance. It has parking for one car.
Lakeside is situated above the church right in the centre of Salcombe. The house is in a quiet cul-de-sac off Onslow Road with no passing traffic.
Lakeside is a modern house and originally designed as a holiday home. In early 2000 it was extended to take advantage of the wonderful view. It was converted to include two new bedrooms and a large open plan living area that has hosted some wonderful family holidays, not only in the summer, but throughout the year.
The house is fully equipped with all mod cons. It sleeps 6 comfortably, but can accommodate 8. There is one large double room and three twin rooms with one bunk room with adult size beds with lots of head room. One bathroom with bath and shower and large airing cupboard. One shower room and another separate loo.
The scaffolding in front of the house has now been removed and the view restored.

A truly special property that is hard to beat!
Superb location. Absolutely unbeatable views.
Very well furnished and appointed. All managed beautifully by Belle. You won’t find better.
We spent a wonderful week at the house. The directions were easy to follow and pre-information thorough. The house was spotless and comfortable with fantastic views, all living up to expectation. The town was just a short walk down the hill.
Our thanks to Belle.
Would we stay again? - yes.

Welcoming, well equipped and minutes from the centre of Salcombe.
This is our second time at this property and we knew we were coming back after last year. It really feels like home from home but with the added value of wonderful views of the sea. The property is light, airy, well equipped and beautifully decorated.
We enjoyed our short walk into town each morning to visit the local bakery. We hoped that the walk back up the hill would help to burn off some calories of their delicious food.
Belle is always a phone call away if you need anything. That said, it was a seamless experience and we loved our stay. We cannot wait to go back again next year. Thank you for a lovely holiday.
The house was really spacious, well fitted and in a wonderful location close to Salcombe town centre. We had a lovely week with kids and grandparents during the Town Regatta week.
Belle did send a message a couple of weeks before our stay to inform us of the neighbors building work. It was too late for us to find elsewhere as it was Regatta week but we appreciated the heads up and completely understand that this was completely outside Belle’s control and don’t fault the property at all for this. However, I would suggest checking on building progress before booking. The builders were standing on the roof in front of the balcony (that they’d built on scaffolding so much higher than the actual roof) and it was so close that we could hear every word they said. Along with the drilling and their loud radio we had to keep the doors and windows shut whilst they worked, which was between 8am and 4pm every weekday. It was a real shame, but as I said not the property or owners fault.
We had a fantastic stay here, amazing views, great weather and so relaxing, if we needed anything Belle was on hand, we used the BBQ a couple of times with meat from the local butcher, which was delicious! You have to pace yourself with the walks up hill, but there are plenty of places to stop and admire the beautiful view.
My wife and I with our two sons (under 3) were very comfortable at this property.
The upside down arrangement is great for admiring the view, which never disappointed.
The house is really well fitted out. Couldn't recommend it more highly.
Belle kindly accommodated us at just 24 hours notice so we were very pleased when we arrived.
Larger home than expected from the photos. Just a short work down to the town, but slightly longer back up the hill!. Parking very convenient. View from the master bedroom and living room area exactly as shown in the pictures and the outdoor area feels very private.
All in all a good place to stay in Salcombe is you want nice views, parking and easy access to the town
This is a truly fabulous house. The view of the harbour from the sitting room, terrace and main bedroom is stunning. The photographs of the house, as a previous guest said, don’t do it justice - it is even better than the photos make it look. It has everything you could need and lots more. The bed was so comfortable and the curtains keep the room dark in case you are a light sleeper. The terrace is big enough to have dinner at the table or just to sit and enjoy a glass of wine watching everything happen in the harbour. The parking space is great advantage, which you really appreciate when you realise how difficult parking in Salcombe is. This is a gem of a find.
We spent a week at the property on Lakeside and loved every minute.
The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need to cook up some big family feasts. I was impressed with the range of equipment available to use.
The location of the property is excellent as it's 5-10 minutes walk from all the main spots in Salcombe. I enjoyed the fairly steep walks home as it helped burn a few calories.
The view from the property is excellent and we enjoyed every sunny morning looking out at the harbour. It's also lovely in the evening to sit on the balcony and watch the evening sun on the valley.
Thank you Belle so much for all the communication. I can honestly say this house had the best view ever! Unfortunately my husband took ill so we had to leave early but left some family to enjoy your wonderful home. I would not hesitate to recommend this property, anytime! Thank you! :) x
We had a wonderful stay at Belle's property in Salcombe. The View is stunning, the location is great and the house is brilliant and really well equipped. Our favourite part - sitting out on the balcony in the morning catching the sunrise. Would highly recommend.

The property was all we could have wished for. Comfortable with a stunning view of the estuary. Close to the centre but still peaceful. Well equipped from crockery through to games.
We could not fault it!
Lovely location with spectacular view. Best of all there is parking for one vehicle, an absolute must in Salcombe. Spotlessly clean and well appointed.
From booking to leaving the communications we’re great nothing was too much which is exactly what you want, the house is exactly as pictured with a great terrace and all the amenities you would want, close to town without being around any noise just two steep hills to contend with on the walk into town but nothing we couldn’t manage even with a pushchair and a two year old, Salcombe is beautiful with everything you would want in a town if you don’t want to drive anywhere when you are on holiday, thank you Belle we will be back again.
Don't hesitate to book this property if you are looking for a really nice place to stay in Salcombe. Despite the fairly appalling weather we thoroughly enjoyed our week. The house was great and the views spectacular. The owner responded to any questions we had ahead of our stay very quickly. One thing to be aware of is that although its only a short walk from the town centre it is a pretty steep climb the whole way back to the house so it may not suit everyone.
Highly recommended.
Lovely spacious house with views over Salcombe and it's harbour. Can't fault the property, the owner supplies everything needed and the house is comfy and clean. Loved it.
Just far enough away from the town, a few minutes walk.
A lovely house in a quiet close, Plenty of room, lovely garden and balcony with stunning views of Salcombe harbour.
This is a well presented property in a quiet location. It has all the facilities needed for a restful stay. The views from the patio are simply stunning and well worth the climb from town. Highly recommended.
Fabulous view, well stocked rental. Super efficient and friendly owner!
We had a lovely stay in this house. Belle the owner was very responsive and friendly in her communication with us from the start. The house was as expected: clean, comfortable and well stocked. The view was absolutely spectacular, we really lucked out with this property given we only booked it a week prior. Here are just some of the highlights of our stay: taking the pedestrian ferry from the Ferry Inn to East Portlemouth and exploring the various beaches across from Salcombe; lunch at the Millbrook Inn (Kingsbridge); dining at the Oyster Shack (Bigbury); boat ride from Dartmouth to Dittisham and lunch at the Anchorstone Cafe in Dittisham; taking the sea tractor from Bigbury to Burgh Island and the bbq at the Winking Prawn (North
Sands). The week flew by and we found ourselves on the road back to London far too soon!
