Beautiful house in beautiful surroundings. Very friendly but unobtrusive host. There was so much space and seating was generous both inside and out. This was a great property and priced reasonably. The only drawbacks were the lane up to the property which required careful driving to avoid serious potholes and damage to the cars. The other slight problem we had was difficulty locking and unlocking the small shower room door. That caused a little panic with one of the children when they couldn't undo the door. All in all though, we would definitely recommend this property if you want a calm and peaceful stay away from the rush of everyday life. Added extra -the dining room provided a perfect setting for a game of Traitors!

Thank you for you feedback
- the road up to the house has now been resurfaced
- we will take a look at the shower room door, thank you for highlighting
We enjoyed the spacy and good equipped house in beautiful nature. As we were 11 persons, the pots could have been bigger, but all in all it was just perfect.
We loved our stay here!! The house so comfortable for our 13 person party. The property manager, Kelly, was so responsive and helpful. The kids had so much fun playing outside and exploring the property. This is a trip our family will reminisce about for a long time!!
Wonderful house, just right for our extended family. The house was very well equipped and in a lovely location. Kelly was there to welcome us and to make sure that we knew where everything was.
It was marvelous. A great house with all the things we needed. The incheck proces was simple and quick. Great to have whatsapp contact with Little Kelly. She was a great help.
We not only stayed in a region full of history, the house too was history. Very nice view from the dining, drawing, living room. The weather was not nice, but the house gave us a safe and warm feeling.

Liked: Check-in, communication, listing accuracy
Great for the countryside but a bit far out from anything else. Road to property was very badly maintained.
Richard and Kelly were both incredibly helpful and the provisions, especially the wine, were a great welcome! The house is lovely and the views wonderful. We had a fantastic time. We came for peace, space and privacy - which we got in abundance - bliss!
Stunning house, equipped with everything you could need, large rooms, beds were very comfy. House was very clean, a nice welcome pack with wine, eggs bread etc, we would definitely recommend this property to anyone. Thanks to Richard and his team, Kelly messaged me a couple of times to ask if we needed anything and to check we was happy with everything, we had a great time.
Great house, comfortable and incredibly well equipped
Eight of us stayed over three nights. Richard, the owner could not have been more flexible and helpful in the lead up to our stay as we required an extra bed. The house is spacious, comfortable, and has literally everything in it that you need including a large barbecue, which we used on one of the nights. Highly recommend for families or groups of friends looking to have a few days in the countryside
Great house to stay in with a large group. If you are looking for privacy from family (Honeymoon) this isn't the right place as you can hear everything. However we had a blast and the property is just amazing. We had an issue with one of the showers leaking but thw host was right on it and swnt a plumber asap to try and fix the problem. They were great with communication throughout our entire stay. 10/10 would recommend and stay again.
A spacious house with loads of character and history. The owner and the young lady on the ground could not have been more helpful and accommodating. We spent a week in this lovely rural location and blessed with glorious Autumn sunshine to enjoy the large terrace. Ideal for our family event and the caterers managed to deliver a superb dinner for all 20 of us and serve it in the dining room. Yes we would certainly stay there again! Thank you!
The house was great for our party of 2 families. We had plenty of space and the house is very well equipped. A lovely clean house and great communication with the host. We enjoyed exploring the local area and the house was located well for this. The driveway down had lots of bumps and pot holes which you need to be careful of especially in the dark but other than this wouldn’t change a thing.
We were hoping for a property with enough space for a gathering of the family to celebrate recent birthdays and a Golden Wedding Anniversary, and the farmhouse offered us amazing opportunities! As soon as Kelly welcomed us and showed us round, we felt 'at home'. The sense of family history added to the experience, and we really enjoyed the privilege of living there for a short time. Everyone from the age of 5 to 75 was comfortable in the range of spacious rooms, and our requirements for sleeping arrangements were readily accommodated. Richard and Kelly could not have been more helpful and made our stay relaxed and fun for all.
We would all like to be able to stay there again!
Had a great family 70th celebration in this large well equipped old house near Battle. The countryside, peace and quiet were all enjoyed sitting at the large outside table which actually had enough matching and quality chairs for us all, quite a rarity! a BBQ thoughtfully provided with coals.
Wraparound grounds and garden perfect for family games and cricket. The house is certainly very quirky in parts, particularly the dining room with huge family portraits. Kitchen well equipped and appreciated welcome gifts. Bedrooms roomy and quality bed linen. Ideally a visitors book would be nice, history of house, things to do, local restaurants etc.
We had a wonderful family gathering here to celebrate a 70th birthday with ages ranging from 70 to 2 1/2yrs. This property is everything we hoped for and more, spotlessly clean, spacious and very comfortable, plenty of room to spread out in and then big terraced area outside as well as in the delightful conservatory for us all to gather round big tables for meals. The property is very well equipped, if you enjoy cooking you will have all the kitchen equipment you need and plenty of fridge and freezer space which was brilliant. The farmhouse faces south so the light is great and set in deep countryside so very peaceful and with excellent views. We walked in the extensive farmland with its stunning bluebell woods, the kids loved watching the sheep and cattle and we played ball games in the garden. The WhatsApp set up prior to arrival was great , Richard and the housekeepers Nikki and Kelly couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming, and the food/drink pack on arrival was much appreciated. All in all, well deserved super hosting! A big thank you from all of us for a fantastic week.
Richard maintained great communication from booking to check out. He and his support team could not have been more helpful, keeping in touch through WhatsApp as our stay became imminent. A welcome package of local produce was provided that was greatly appreciated.
The property is set in a beautiful location with a great outdoor space and stunning views. All rooms are huge and we were definitely spoilt for space! We had booked the property for a family gathering which was enhanced by the surroundings. Our request for setting up the specific sleeping arrangements in advance was happily accommodated.
The kitchen and utility rooms are very well stocked and we found everything to be spotlessly clean throughout.
We had asked for an early check-in which the team managed to facilitate. This meant we had a self check-in, but Kelly popped by to ensure all was well.
This is a great property with a great support team. There is plenty to see and do in the local area. We would definitely love to return.
We had the most wonderfull stay, a family celebration for our 50th wedding anniversary. The house was beautifull and the host Richard and housekeepers Nikki and Kelly couldn't do enough to make our stay perfect. We were greeted with flowers and wine to help us celebrate. They were easily contactable should we need to ask them anything. We would recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect getaway and would love to stay there again.
