Excellent accommodation - spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, plenty of crockery/pots/pans etc, central to Matlock. Great communication with owners prior to and during our visit. Would highly recommend, and already planning a return visit.

Thanks for the wonderful review. Glad you enjoyed everything about the property and location.
13 of us stayed for my sister's hen - lovely property, we were all very impressed and comfortable. Beds comfy, rooms had good storage and I've never seen a better stocked kitchen. Hot tub was a huge hit. Great location, stones throw away from the town centre. Query was resolved promptly through messages with owner. We were all very happy with our stay. Only recommendation would some door stops for the kitchen and living room as they wouldn't stay open without a wedge, but that might be for a fire safety reason.

Thanks for the great review. Glad everything went so well for your sisters hen party. Unfortunately that's correct regarding fire safety, they must be self closing doors and not be wedged open due to the size and style of the property.
This home was perfect for our family stayIt's immaculately clean. So convenient to the town of Matlock. Dan was a pleasure to work with and responded to any questions promptly. Our family would highly recommend this property

Nice property in a good location and well equipped with everything we needed. Overall a pleasant stay. Communication with the property could have been smoother, but still a positive experience
Lovely house. Well equipped kitchen. Hot tub became faulty and communication with manager poor so not fixed.

Thanks for the review. Sorry you had some issues with the hot tub, unfortunately we didn't get a message until after you had checked out so were unable to resolve anything. We have since purchased a new hot tub for the property.
We had a fantastic stay this weekend. Fab house with everything we needed. lovely bedrooms, enough bathrooms for 13 of us staying. well equipped kitchen. Everything was as described on the listing. Communication was good with the host and we received all details of check in ahead of arrival. Welcome pack was a nice touch before we went to get the big shop. Location was brilliant- train station, supermarket and bars were all within walking distance.

Thanks for the excellent review. Sounds like the property was perfect for your group and you found everything you needed nearby.
We stayed for a week over Christmas as a family of 12. The kitchen facilities were incredible and the space in the kitchen was really good to all be together. The living room was cosy for 12 people despite advertising to fit 13. The bedroom description and layout advertised did not match the actual bedrooms but this did not cause an issue for us. The facilities were all clean and bedrooms were comfy and lots of storage. The hot tub and games room provided plenty of entertainment. The house was situated in a lovely location and a very close walk to the town. The only thing lacking was hairdryers, there was only one in the whole property and it did not work properly as it got very hot and smelt of burning after a short use.

Thanks for the review and valuable feedback, we'll make note of these minor issues and resolve them for our future guests.
We came to Matlock with the kids and grandkids from Canada, to show them their roots! The house was just perfect. A perfect spot for family and friends to visit, and we were within walking distance of shops, pubs, and a park. Daniel was very quick to answer any questions we had. We had an amazing time, and it was hard to leave!

We are Taylor Holiday Lets, a local family run holiday let business, and we personally manage and care for every property we host. Being hands on means we know each home inside out and can make sure it is always well prepared for your stay.
We live locally and love the Peak District and surrounding areas. We enjoy helping guests make the most of their time here, whether that is recommending great walks, places to eat or family friendly days out. Our focus is on creating relaxed, comfortable stays where guests feel well looked after, without anything feeling over managed or impersonal.
We take pride in offering well maintained homes, clear communication and a friendly, responsive approach from booking through to check out.
Why they chose this property
We chose this area because Matlock offers the perfect balance of town life and easy access to the Peak District. Everything you need is close by, with shops, cafés, pubs and attractions all within walking distance, while beautiful countryside, walking routes and scenic views are just minutes away.
What we enjoy most is how convenient and welcoming the area feels for families. Days can be spent exploring the town, heading out for walks, or visiting nearby Peak District highlights, before returning to relax together in a comfortable home. We have spent a lot of time here ourselves and love how the location allows guests to enjoy a lively setting without feeling overwhelmed, making it an ideal base for a relaxed and enjoyable stay.
What makes this property unique
What makes this property unique is the combination of space, comfort and an unbeatable town location. Large houses that can comfortably accommodate families of this size, while still being within easy walking distance of Matlock town, are very rare. Thornleigh offers the freedom to spread out, relax and spend time together without needing to rely on the car.
Inside, the house is designed around shared family time, with generous living areas, a huge kitchen and dining space for eating together, and a separate games room that keeps all ages entertained. Features such as the cosy lounge with electric fire and surround lighting, underfloor heating in the kitchen and dining area, and Smart TVs throughout make it feel welcoming and practical for longer stays.
Outside, the secure garden with hot tub and plenty of seating provides another space to unwind, while parking for multiple cars makes arrival and day trips easy. Rather than feeling like a typical holiday let, Thornleigh feels like a true family home, set up for memorable stays in the heart of Matlock.
