About this property

Large House with Panoramic Sea Views & Parking

Summary:
This is a lovely, spacious family home for up to 8 guests located on a quiet cul-de-sac in Newlyn. Inside, the rooms have been finished to a lovely standard and there are panoramic sea views throughout. There are plenty of homely additions to the space including some local art on the walls, house plants and plenty of cushions and throws to snuggle up in, as well as a stack of toys, games and books for kids and adults to enjoy.

The Space:
On the entrance level, you will find three bedrooms: two with king-size beds (both with incredible sea views over Mount’s Bay and St Michael’s Mount) and a further bedroom with bunk beds. On this floor, there is also the main bathroom, with jet bath and separate shower, as well as access to the garage and utility room (we’ve left a couple of bodyboards and some beach equipment for you in the garage – enjoy!). On the ground floor, there are two bedrooms (both with a sea view): a king room, a second bunk room, as well as a small shower room. There is also direct access out to the garden where you can enjoy warm days out in the sun or cook dinners on the barbecue.

The top floor comprises the kitchen and dining space, as well as the living room with double sliding doors making the most of those incredible views. The balcony is a special place to sit back with a morning coffee and watch the fishing boats bringing in the catch or to relax at sunset. You should find everything you need in the well-equipped kitchen: from a large range cooker with gas burners and multiple ovens to a dishwasher, kettle, toaster, espresso machine and cooking utensils. Seafood cookbooks are provided so you can make the most of the amazing local fish. The dining space adjoining is the perfect spot for large feasts and sociable breakfasts with a table that can extend and sit up to ten people comfortably. Next door, cosy up in the light and bright living room and watch a film on the TV with Prime and Disney+ available.

Its wonderful location and charming finish makes this the perfect base for exploring south Cornwall and beyond! Free parking available on the drive for at least 2 cars.

Sustainable Tourism in Cornwall

We power our home with 100% renewable energy. We use wooden products (including bamboo loo roll!) where we can. A range of artwork, much of it local, hangs on the walls. When visiting Cornwall, you can help our local community and economy by supporting our amazing local shops. In Newlyn, we are fortunate to be able to buy all our food locally. Newlyn has a butcher, grocer, more fish than you could possibly eat, cheese shop, baker, small Co-Op and plenty of other options to feed guests.

When visiting sights around Cornwall (especially the big attractions), think about getting there early so you can avoid traffic and crowding. We tend to head to the beach around 8am so we can enjoy a morning in the sea before it gets too busy you could also go in the evening and watch the sunset. Feel free to ask plenty of questions before coming to stay so that you can plan your visit and make the most of our incredible county.

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the whole property.

The Neighborhood:
The property is situated half way up Chywoone Hill (known locally as Paul Hill) and is close to all that Newlyn has offer, including the famous Mackerel Sky seafood tapas bar, Argoe restaurant, The Tolcarne Inn gastro pub, Lewis’ fish and chips and many more pubs, cafes and restaurants to keep you fed and watered. The area also boasts an independent arthouse cinema, art galleries, Newlyn School of Art, Jelbert's homemade ice cream, pasty shop, cheese shop, greengrocery, butcher and, of course, the freshest seafood available. You are also a 10 minute downhill walk (15 minutes back up the hill!) from the water’s edge where you can gaze across the vast expanse of Mount's Bay and spot dolphins while eating a local pasty or sandwich from Aunty May’s or drinking locally-roasted coffee from Lovetts.

The idyllic village of Mousehole is just 2 miles away and is a lovely place to go for lunch and a wander along the harbour. The Old Coastguard pub serves delicious local food and a superb Sunday Lunch that's not to miss. The Rock Pool cafe is a must on sunny days, with its tucked-away sea-front location and extensive food and cocktail list.

The bustling town of Penzance is just a mile away, and it's a short walk to the newly renovated promenade and famous Art Deco outdoor saltwater swimming pool. The town has an array of independent shops, and you can pick up a ferry from the harbour for a day's wildlife trip (you even may see seals and dolphins!). At low tide you can venture across the causeway to St Michaels Mount and spend the day exploring the isolated island with its historic castle and gardens. There are also ferries at high tide.

This part of Cornwall is home to a stunning selection of beaches and coastal walks; Cape Cornwall and the wonderful Minnack Theatre are just 8 miles, whilst Land’s End is also within close reach. We would highly recommend picking up the walk from Land’s End to Nanjizal Cove - where you can enjoy a peaceful dip in the sea and amazing cream teas. Nearby, Sennen Cove with its huge white sandy beach is the perfect spot for surfers and beachgoers alike!

Getting Around:
Given the remote nature of Cornwall, a car is recommended for getting the most out of your stay here. That said, the property is located within a short bus ride (or half-hour walk) of Penzance which has very good transport links. Trains run from London Paddington on a regular basis throughout the year. The nearest bus stop is approximately 150m from the property and this can take you to Mousehole, Penzance and beyond (it’s also handy if you don’t fancy walking back up the hill after dinner). There are also some lovely walks to be had in the local area without needing to get in a car.

There is ample space for 2 cars to park on the driveway.

Interaction with Guests:
We will be available via message, email and phone during your stay. Any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch!

Newlyn Views
Excellent views of Newlyn Bay. Property was well maintained, accurately described and set in a quiet cul-de-sac. Would stay here again.

Súper house
Our stay was for 10 … 6 adults and 4 children. The property is very well appointed and comfortable, with all the facilities needed for such a group.

Good location but some problems
Good location. Clean. Very spacious. Some housekeeping issues: The shower head falls off, the wash basin tap swivels, the toaster tripped the electricity, the freezer box leaks into the fridge, cooker has no indication on knobs which plate is which knob. .

Excellent location.
Lovely house, well stocked with kitchen equipment. Nice quiet area, short walk to local shops, pubs & restaurants. Walking up the hill on way back a bit daunting for us unfit oldies.

Amazing short break with Beautiful views
We were so happy with the property, it was a straight forward check in and check out process. We will definitely be back again in the summer. Our only advise is avoid travelling at night due to road closures on A30 and M5.
