About this property
Wye Head Cottage
Wye Head Cottage is a beautifully appointed, cosy cottage in the heart of Buxton and an ideal base from which to explore the Peak District National Park. The cottage perfectly mixes the characterful features with contemporary styling and modern fixtures and fittings in order to create a fabulous home from home.
The cottage sleeps four people in two double bedrooms and there is ample off-road parking for two cars.
Walking in through the handy porch area, guests are greeting by the incredibly inviting, large living room to one side and the dining and kitchen area to the other. The large fireplaces, exposed brick walls and exposed beams help provide a sense of splendour. The log burning stoves are the perfect way to keep warm in the cooler Autumn and Winter months, while in the summer the patio doors off the dining room can be opened wide and guests can enjoy the private, landscaped garden.
The kitchen is well stocked with all the appliances one would require to cook up a feast and even has an integrated wine cooler to keep the bubbly the perfect temperature.
Up the wooden staircase are the two bedrooms and family bathroom. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, exposed beams and garden views. The family bathroom has a separate walk in shower and free-standing bath so guests can enjoy a long soak to unwind while on holiday.
Wye Head Cottage is located in the old market and spa town of Buxton which is surrounded by the Derbyshire hills at a height of over 1000ft, making it the highest town in England. There is plenty of local attractions and things to do, making Buxton a great place to spend a some time away. The cottage is only a six minute pleasant walk into town, through the park and all on the flat.
With its stunning ornamental gardens and world-famous Georgian and Victorian architecture, it provides an impressive backdrop to a rich and vibrant range of music, theatre and festivals which occur regularly throughout the year. Guests can also enjoy wealth of independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, natural wonders such as Poole’s Cavern, relaxing spas, attractions such as Buxton Opera House, Go Ape, Buxton Raceway and two golf courses. There really is something to suit everyone.
The Peak District National Park is one of the finest parts of the UK and popular with tourists and adventure-seekers all the year round. Whether you’re looking for walking routes, seeking adrenaline thrills or want to find a cosy pub serving local ales, the pretty villages, vast hills and pristine lakes offer so many opportunities for memorable days out.
