Region: Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.
Town: This lovely community is located in the Tanat Valley, at the foot of the Berwyn Mountains, about 4 miles from the spectacular Pistyll Rhaeadr, one of Wales' Seven Wonders (240 ft high waterfall). Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant was the setting for the popular film The Englishman Who Went Up A Hill But Came Down A Mountain, as well as the more current David Tennant film Nativity 2. Two general stores, a newsagents, a Post Office, a butchers, two pubs, one hotel, one cafe, and a fish and chip restaurant can be found in the village. It is surrounded by beautiful landscape and offers a variety of walking paths, including the Berwyn Ridge Walk and a pathway to the top of the waterfall. The picturesque Lakes Vyrnwy and Bala, Powys Castle and Gardens, ancient Shrewsbury and Chester, and the magnificent Snowdonia National Park are all worth seeing.
