A lovely cottage situated on a modern development above the River Esk and facing the impressive Esk Valley Viaduct.. 4 steps to entrance.

Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Toilet. Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Travel cot and highchair available on request. . Back garden with patio and garden furniture. Residents’ car park with free parking bays (not allocated). No smoking.. Whitby, the very popular historic seaside town lies 1.5 miles away, a 20-minute walk into the centre. Close by there are two play areas for children as well as communal landscaped grounds leading to the riverside, a haven for wildlife, swans, and ducks. For those walkers and cyclists amongst you, this property is located right by the famous Cinder Track; the old railway line that runs over 20 miles between Scarborough and Whitby.
Ammonite Cottage is an ideal size for family, as well as for couples travelling together. Set over two floors, this is a well-presented property where you’re sure to have a truly memorable stay. On the ground floor you have a spacious open plan living area, with French double doors both at the front and the rear of the property. The rear ones lead to a small and sunny decked area with a picnic table, a beautiful spot with views over open countryside.
Stepping through the archway from the lounge is the well-equipped kitchen and dining area which has a large dining table perfect for up to six guests to eat and socialise. Up on the first floor is the master double bedroom with a balcony where you can enjoy views of the viaduct, where the Cinder Track passes on its way to Whitby. On this floor you also have a second double bedroom as well as a bunk bedroom which is suitable for adults as well as children. There is the family bathroom on this first floor with a shower over the bath as well as a convenient separate toilet on the ground floor.
In Whitby there is a long golden beach, ideal for traditional family days out by the sea, complete with arcades, sandcastles, beach huts and good old-fashioned fish and chips. Whilst in Whitby follow in the steps of Bram Stoker, the author of the infamous Dracula, by climbing the famous 199 steps to see the spectacular Whitby Abbey. The beach to the west of the town leads for 2 miles to the lovely resort of Sandsend. Runswick Bay and Staithes are further north, and to the south there is Robin Hood’s Bay and the large seaside resort of Scarborough with its long promenade running through both bays.
The North York Moors steam railway runs from Whitby down to Pickering, stopping at Goathland (Heartbeat Country). For children and families nearby there is Flamingo land, Alpamare Waterpark and Go Ape ziplining at Dalby Forest all within an hour drive. Beach 2 miles.
