family holiday

We were a party of 7 with ages ranging from 86yrs to 16yrs. The layout and location of the property worked really well for us. The big kitchen and dining area meant we could all be together comfortably in the evening. The downstairs bedroom and bathroom were a bonus for my elderly parents and they enjoyed being able to walk straight out onto the patio / garden from their bedroom. The garden and patio were also a good size. It was an easy walk to the small parade of useful shops and to the beach. We did a few walks from Forelands beach all the way to Bembridge Harbour. Communication with the rental people was also very good. I would definitely rent the property again.

Disappointing! First impressions of the property very poor. Outside from the road it looks almost derelict with overgrown and uncared for plants and cobwebs everywhere including across the window and around the front door and a broken step and missing mortar around the front door. The keysafe was very difficult to operate and we struggled to get the key out. Once inside the property the theme of the cobwebs continued with large cobwebs on the inside as well as the outside of the windows and behind the bathroom sink and dust to the lampshades and bar stools. There were also dirty and greasy pans left in the oven by the previous occupant and a dirty tea towel. The beds were very small doubles and not very comfortable. In the garden the mop and brooms had been left out across the garden furniture and propped up against the wall. The hanging lights were again full of cobwebs which had clearly been there for sometime. The cleaner attended the next day to address the above issues, however, besides changing the tea towel, cleaning the dirty pans and moving the mop to join the brooms propped up against the wall, it is not clear what else was done. No-one called or messaged me after to see if I was satisfied with what had been done. Overall poor service in my view. Whilst cobwebs especially outside are to be expected, when you have paying guests you would expect that special care and attention would be taken to ensure these are removed and not allowed to build up over time.
