About this property
Charming captain's cabin on the historic ship De Hoop
Step aboard the De Hoop, a beautiful well preserved former cargo vessel, converted into a warm and character-filled waterside hideaway. You’ll stay in the authentic captain’s cabin, and experience the quiet charm of life on the water. Step up to the wheelhouse for your morning coffee with a view, or unwind with a drink on the deck at sunset. The ship is just a 15-minute tram ride from the vibrant centre of Amsterdam, making it the perfect location for those who wish to experience the best of both worlds. It is perfect for a romantic weekend getaway, but above all for anyone who has ever dreamed of living aboard a ship.
The space
Your private captain’s cabin includes everything you need for a cosy and unique stay: a queen bed (140 × 200 cm) with built‑in storage. Brand‑new private bathroom: shower, toilet, hairdryer, towels, bathrobes & toiletries. Compact living/dining area with sofa, TV (including Netflix), Bose speaker & board games. A kitchenette including a fridge, fresh coffee and kettle.
You also have your own terrace on the roof of the captain's cabin and can use the communal terrace on the jetty.
Guest access
You have your own private access to the cabin on the historic ship. We also live on board, however our living space is completely separate so you can enjoy your own privacy. Access to the boat and cabin is via a set of stairs. There are also stairs leading from the steering hut into living and sleeping areas.
Other things to note
30 m² of space | Ceiling height: 2.0 m
Not suitable for those with limited mobility (steep stairs, narrow passageways).
Local shops, bakeries, restaurants, a tiny beach, a Wednesday and Saturday market and bike rentals are nearby.
