Beech Croft Cottage
A traditional cosy holiday cottage located in the picturesque Peak District village of Castleton
COVID-19 Announcement
Beech Croft Cottage is looking forward to welcoming guests to stay from the 4th July should the restrictions ease as per the government announcements. Our cottage is entirely self-contained with a private entrance and back garden enabling total social distancing measures for our guests. The cottage is scrupulously cleaned by the owner between visits ensuring all surfaces are sanitized before your stay.
Beech Croft Cottage has been lovingly restored throughout with original oak beams and stone fireplaces. This cosy cottage sleeps 2-4 and is fully equipped with everything you need including, linen, towels and basic groceries, so you can get away for a comfortable break without having to pack the kitchen sink! It is a perfect location to enjoy all that historic Castleton has to offer. The accommodation comprises one bedroom upstairs with a super comfy king-size bed, wardrobe and feature stone fireplace.
Downstairs, the stunning lounge with handcrafted stone fireplace doubles up as a second bedroom with double bed settee that folds away during the day. Amenities include a flat-screen TV, satellite TV, DVD, CD radio and free wi-fi. There is a selection of traditional games, books and playing cards for those cosy evenings in. There is a fully fitted kitchen and dining area, bathroom with over-bath shower, washing machine and freezer.
Beech Croft is centrally heated, all utilities included. Groceries include freshly baked bread, milk, eggs, tea & coffee and a starter pack of logs and coal for the real fire. Well behaved pets are welcome at no extra charge and there is also a warm welcome for you!
There is a south-facing private garden with patio and furniture, fully enclosed and safe for dogs.
The cottage, which lies under the watchful eye of Peveril Castle, is less than 5 minutes from all village amenities, great pubs and restaurants, Blue John Caverns, and stunning scenery.
Off-road parking is available by permission of the Peak Hotel, all you need to do is pop in for a drink or a meal during your stay.
With 6 great pubs, restaurants, coffee shops, well-stocked post office, artisan bakery and fantastic walks on the doorstep, there is no need to drive anywhere else if you don’t wish to.
You will be minutes from Mam Tor, Back Tor and the stunning Winnats Pass and Cavedale. The Pennine way starts from Edale, 2 miles away.
Castleton and the surrounding countryside is popular for all kinds of activities including, walking, cycling, hang-gliding and caving. There is a heated outdoor swimming pool in nearby Hathersage and indoor swimming in Buxton, 6 miles away. Castleton is also a great place for a romantic holiday, activity holiday or simply a relaxing break.
