I am a yoga and meditation teacher and have been living here with my daughter who is now 19 since 2003
Why they chose this property
This is an exceptional, very natural and comfortable house with lovely gardens and land. The living spaces are open plan, light and airy with wooden floors throughout. Some of the original barn walls and pillars form the heart of the house.
In the dining area there is a piano, French doors opening out onto the wooden deck. The kitchen is well equipped and has a small dishwasher. There are 3 spacious double bedrooms, one in the attic room upstairs with a comfortable futon on a bed platform. An extra floor bed could be put in any of the bedrooms. All decorated tastefully and artistically.
You would have use of the study with its library of interesting alternative books.
This is a low carbon house with air source heat pump, solar panels, wood burner, simple bathroom with bath, toilet and shower.
The house is set amidst gardens of lawns, meadows, flower beds, mature trees and a sun deck. There is an organic vegetable garden and fruit trees. You are welcome to help yourself to any produce that is in abundance. There are lovely views across the fields.
Across the lawn is my wonderful yoga practice and teaching space which you would be welcome to use at certain times.
In the adjacent land there is an artist's studio, somebody living in a small caravan under a tree and somebody on retreat in a shepherd's hut but the house itself is totally private and secluded.
There is a washing machine in a separate room on the side of the house (occasionally used by one of the lovely people who live in the field).
'Amazing 5 star beautiful tranquil place. This huge airy house with lots of natural light and beauty is just PERFECT. An absolute dream' Kirsteen
'Manor Barn Cottage is a fantastic property. A real home form home! It is lovely and spacious, great for sociable living. The rooms are all large doubles and the sofa is extremely comfy. We had a great say and would recommend to anyone, especially families.' Jessica
