Lovely View

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Ridgeway Farmhouse and this is our 2nd stay. The view is stunning and the decoration within the house is lovely, making our stay very comfortable. Pros Great location Wonderful view Well appointed kitchen, comfortable beds and excellent feeling of space both inside and outside the property Hot tub is great but it does take a few goes to work out just how many logs it requires to find the right temperature of the water Perfect for a multigenerational family gathering given the scale and space Cons The hedge needs a good trim, when you are sitting on the terrace or at the outside dining area the view is badly obstructed by the hedge, this was the same when we came last time The outside of the house looks tired, with the balcony area looking particularly rustic We loved our first stay, we thoroughly enjoyed our second stay and will be back again.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay at Ridgeway Farmhouse on Ragley Estate. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the farmhouse and its beautiful surroundings. Thank you also for your comments regarding the hedge. We have been advised by the Property Manager that the hedge was last cut in February. However, due to nesting season regulations, hedge cutting is not permitted until July. We appreciate your understanding and very much hope to welcome you back to the Cotswolds in the future.

What a gem!

We enjoyed our stay at Ridgeway farmhouse that much we booked to go back before we even left! The kitchen is so well equipped, we easily cooked full English breakfasts and a Sunday roast. Plenty of space for everyone and the beds were so comfortable with lovely bedding. We can’t wait to return next May! 10/10!

Fantastic stay

We had a gorgeous 3-night stay at the Ridgeway Farmhouse in September. The house is spacious, well-equipped and beautifully furnished with lovely views over open countryside to Ragley Hall. With plenty of parking, a well-maintained property and the arrival pack was very welcome. An excellent stay. Not sure I would bother with the hot tub again, as it’s tricky to light and manage the temperature.

We’ve spoken to the housekeeper regarding your comments about the hot tub and understand that you were in touch with them to ask where the lighter was kept. Lovely property in a great spot for a group.

This property was ideal for a group stay and had everything we needed. The interior is far superior to the exterior and the views from the back and three of the bedrooms is wonderful. We attended an event at Ragley Hall and were able to walk back to the property within 45 minutes which was ideal.

Very nice stay

Our stay at ridgeway was absolutely perfect, the lodge was clean, beautiful and there were some really nice special touches that made our wedding weekend exist that little bit nicer. We made use of the hot tub and bbq, and Alison was perfect at communicating what we needed to do. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their stay, and the coffee and walnut cake was to die for! Thankyou to all the staff at bootable retreats for our lovely stay.

Easter Weekend Getaway

My husband and I had a wonderful long bank holiday weekend for Easter at Ridgeway Farmhouse. We had our gorgeous granddaughter and our fur baby with us. The farmhouse is absolutely spectacular with the most wonderful views we’ve ever seen. The house had everything you need and we really enjoyed the cake and wine that was left for us on arrival. We would highly recommend this fantastic home and hope we can return again very soon. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Great stay!

We wanted to enjoy the UK countryside for a few days, and this house is definitely in the countryside. The house met all of our needs and was well equipped. We loved the estate and sheep. It is a bit of a drive to the cotswolds (typically 45 min to each town). We enjoyed the hot tub and we’re allowed to walk the Ragley Estate. Fullers is an adorable market just around the corner.

Beautiful light stylish house

We loved staying at ridgeway farmhouse for a family reunion wk end The property was clean warm and welcoming . We loved the large round dining table and the spacious sitting room with woodburner and wonderful views across open countryside. The bedrooms were also stylishly and tastefully decorated with lovely cotton bedding and we felt the house had a restful calm feel about it. The responsiveness of the host was excellent when we had a query. The short drive to Stratford on Avon was straightforward. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We would definately consider returning.

Perfect for our family get together

We had an amazing stay at Ridgeway Farmhouse! It was the perfect spot for our family get-together — our son came over from the USA with his fiancée from Bournemouth our daughter and her fiancé and grandson travelling from Lancashire, and we flew in from Ireland, so it was a great central location for us all. We were celebrating two engagements and two birthdays, and the house was ideal. It’s not the prettiest from the outside, but inside it’s lovely — really comfortable beds, plenty of space, great social areas, and gorgeous views. The wood-fired hot tub was a big hit and warmed up much quicker than we expected! Alison, the housekeeper, was super helpful and very friendly when we called. We also really appreciated the lovely welcome of cake and wine — such a nice touch. The only small downside was having to bring our own towels for the hot tub (it’s mentioned in the listing), which is a bit tricky when you’re flying. But honestly, that’s the only thing we could fault. Overall, we absolutely loved Ridgeway Farmhouse and would definitely recommend it. A brilliant place for a family celebration!

In general, the inside of the house is very nice with beautiful views, clean and brightWhat? Let it down was there is no photo of the outside and it is not a farmhouse. It is a 1970s house so the outside is very disappointing.Inside there were constantly lots of flies And despite the owners leaving fly spray nothing got rid of them so they were nuisance. You expect insects in the countryside, but this was beyond normal. And finally, make sure you check what is going on at the nearby estate as there was a concert with loud music until 11 pm on the Friday Saturday and Sunday which we had no idea about.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us on your recent stay at Ridgeway Farmhouse. We're very glad to hear that you liked the house and the stunning views. However we're sorry to read that your stay did not feel as peaceful as you had hoped. Being on the Ragley Estate does mean that events can occasionally impact the setting and we always advise guests to check the estate’s events page before booking. We're sorry if this was missed, and that your experience was not as you had hoped. Regarding the presentation of the house, we do our best to ensure the property is fully represented in the listing, though we are limited by the number of photos that can be uploaded. We are sorry to hear it did not meet your expectations on this occasion. With regard to flies, countryside properties can unfortunately be prone to them in certain weather conditions, which is why fly spray is provided. We wish you had let us know during your stay, as either we or the property manager would have been happy to help resolve this promptly for you. Once again we're sorry your weekend wasn’t as peaceful as you had planned, and we hope to welcome you to the Cotswolds in the future.

Wonderful property in a fabulous location

We found this house to have everything we needed for a fabulous weekend with friends. The attention to detail is fantastic and it seemed that every decision the owners have made has been well thought through. There were 8 adults and lots of space for us to enjoy a social weekend. The BBQ and outdoor facilities were great and the hot tub is an added bonus. The views from the property are absolutely stunning and 3 out of the 4 bedrooms have this view. The exterior of the building doesn't quite match with the fabulous interior and facilities and views at the back of the property. The service we received was outstanding, particularly when we had a query and an emailed response was very quick. Certainly recommend a stay at this property,

An amazing stay

We had a cracking time at Ridgeway as a family. The property was really nice with excellent views and facilities for adults and kids alike. The communication with the management was excellent as well, and a home made cake and wine waiting for us when we arrived was nice touch. The only downside was that the property has no gate to the drive at the front, meaning if you have a dog that likes "explore" you need to keep it on a lead as the garden wraps around to the front with no separation. Not sure if it's just in the process of being replaced but with a fast road and working farm outside meant we couldn't fully relax with the dog off the lead. Bit of a shame as it's an amazing garden space. All in all though a great place and great value for money.

Good but spoilt by festival

Ridgeway Farm is a large property with beautiful views. However the latter part of our holiday was spoilt by a large festival held on the Ragley Estate. We were not told about this on booking so were surprised when a stream of cars arrived down the side of the garden. Pollution and noise increased, our privacy was intruded on and the view was spoilt by tents, caravans and cars. Do your research before booking if you are looking for a peaceful holiday! Alison, the housekeeper was very responsive but we had far too many issues for a one week holiday. The blind fell down repeatedly in one of the bedrooms and we had to leave it closed because it couldn’t be fixed. One of the sinks was blocked on arrival - if this sink had been cleaned then I would have expected them to know about this before we arrived. There was also a strong chemical smell from the toilet downstairs. We were told this was the oil boiler. This is right next to the dining room so quite unpleasant. The main bedroom was very comfortable but the other beds were very soft mattresses and the other adult in our party found it uncomfortable. Ok for children. If you are looking for local walks from the door, this was difficult and there was no information provided on where you could walk. When we walked around the Ragley Estate we were told this wasn’t allowed but Alison was unsure where we could walk. The road at the front of the house is 50mph and doesn’t feel safe to walk on but there is a gate out the back to the Ragley Fields so it is very confusing where you can walk. Facilities within the house were great and it is well stocked with everything you could need. Unfortunately the internet went down just as we arrived and although they provided a back up it was very slow and unreliable for the duration of our stay. Looking up areas we could drive to for a local walk was very painful especially once the festival arrived and phone signal was rubbish too. In summary, we wouldn’t return to Ridgeway Farm but the area is beautiful and the views are as stunning as they look in the photos.

Family break

The house is much nicer inside than it first appears . 6 adults and 2 small children 3yrs and 18mths the space was excellent. All the rooms were lovely and to a good spec especially the bedrooms . The round table was great for us all to eat together . Maybe a second fridge in the utility and a downstairs shower off the loo would further add to the stay .Cot sheet for little one or a reminder to bring one . The outside space was great hot tub really easy to light and stayed warm . A few flowers maybe and the bottom hedge removing to enjoy the view even more but made no significant difference. We loved our stay ❤️ No access to the estate for a walk in the evening but guess that is not anything you can help .

Great weekend escape

We booked a weekend retreat with some friends and we have had an awesome time. The house that we went to and rented for the weekend was brilliant very big and spacious and also had a bonus wood burner, hot tub which was great although it was therefore difficult to manage the temperature. Overall we had an amazing experience and I would recommend to any of my other friends.
