It is situated on the edge of the stunning North Yorkshire moors country, which is popular with hikers and bikers, and is only 4 miles from the lovely Yorkshire coastline. Sleights has a pub, a fish and chip shop, an antique shop, a butcher's, a bakery, a hair salon, and a post office inside a Spar store, despite being a quiet town. The end of the North Yorkshire Steam Railway is only a short drive away, and Sleights is served by frequent public transportation to and from the adjacent port of Whitby.
