The house is located in a courtyard just off Main street. There is another house further down the lane (the other half of the cottage) and a couple of flats accessable through the same courtyard alleyway. You will find a good selection of take-aways, restaurants and tearooms nearby. A 'One Stop' supermarket is just opposite your Alleyway door and Sainsbury's on the top of Station Street. bus stops are within 2 min. walking distance on Main street. Cockermouth is right at the edge of the Western border to the National Park and the ideal base to explore West Cumbria. Bassenthwaite Lake with Skiddaw along its side is only 5-10 min drive away (thats the Keswick direction on A66). Lorton Valley starts right outside Cockermouth...that takes you after 10 minutes drive to Crummock Lake, Buttermere Lake and Loweswater who have the fells Grasmore, Melbreak, Low Fell and along Buttermere the range of Red Pike, High Stile, High Crag, Haystacks towards Honister Slate MIne. The Solway coast (Maryport and Allonby) is a 10 min car drive away. You can book parking for £4/day at Wilkinsons carpark with most carpark service websites (only 2 min foot walk away along Main Street). The guest will have solely use of the entire house plus Patio with outside seating. There is another house entrance behind Robinsons Cottage and the path to the Alleyway will be used by the people living next door to you as well.
