Nestled between the spectacular Brecon Beacons National Park and the Wye Valley, this bolthole is truly something special. With its period features, abundance of space and outstanding historical location, this property is a wonderful base for a restful break exploring Monmouthshire and its surrounding areas. Perfect for adventurers and lovers of the outdoors, Beaufort Farmhouse is a beautifully restored Grade II listed retreat in the heart of the countryside.
Enjoy the practicality of the open plan kitchen dining space and gather in the games room for a game of snooker. The King Charles room boasts a rolltop slipper bath in the bedroom, whilst the Nell Gwyn room has a striking four-poster bed with its namesake adorning the headboard. A single bedroom leads from the Nell Gwyn room. The Spire room overlooks the peaceful churchyard, and last but not least the superb Loft Suite encompasses the whole top floor and includes a sitting area and divine Jacuzzi copper Bateau bath.
Outside you’ll find lovely gardens, a BBQ and a firepit. Enjoy dining alfresco on the tiered terrace, which is beautifully lit by night, and soak in the views of the church. There is on-street parking for 4 cars.
Ground Floor Kitchen/ Dining Room: This well-equipped, flagstone floor kitchen features all you need for a relaxing self-catering stay. Complete with two dishwashers, a large fridge-freezer, a fabulous AGA (available to use for an additional charge) and a double oven, a gas hob, central island and a dining table seating.
Living Room: Filled with character, this cosy room is perfect for relaxing with your loved ones. The living room boasts original beams, polished wooden floors and an impressive inglenook fireplace as well as a Smart TV.
Games Room: The impressive game room features a full-size table (which can be used for both pool and snooker), a Smart TV with Sky Sports and a wood-burning stove.
Playroom: This thoughtful room comes equipped with a dressing-up box, toys and games, a wall-mounted TV and a PlayStation for entertainment. This space also features a single day bed.
Boot Room: This useful space is perfect for drying off wet dogs after countryside walks and storing wet weather gear.
Study Area: The property is complete with a small study area featuring a desk and chair. There is also a ground-floor WC adjacent to this.
First Floor King Charles Room: Accessed via its own staircase, this stunning room features a super-king size zip and link bed, which can be a twin on request. The King Charles room has warm wooden floors, antique furniture, original oil paintings and a gorgeous pale pink slipper bath.
En-Suite: The adjacent en-suite is beautifully finished with a large walk-in shower, WC, and hand basin.
Nell Gwyn Room: The midnight blue, sumptuously draped four-poster king-size bed takes centre stage, whilst the canvas portrait of Nell Gwyn herself makes a striking feature headboard. Antique furniture, polished wooden floors and wood-panelled walls all add to the character.
There is a single bedroom with a pretty brass bed leading from the Nell Gwyn room.
En-Suite: This spacious en-suite features beautiful turquoise tiles, a bath with an overhead shower, WC, and a bespoke marble vanity.
Spire Room: This gorgeous room features a super-king size zip and link bed, which can be a twin on request, whitewashed stone walls and a feature panel wall behind the bed. It’s filled with character and charm and the antique furniture and original artwork add to the sense of style. From the window, there is a timeless view over St. Nicholas Church.
En-Suite: Tucked behind the panelling lies a well-appointed en-suite boasting a bath with a monsoon shower over, a marble hand basin within a vanity unit, and a WC.
Second Floor Loft Suite: Covering the whole of the top floor, this spacious suite encompasses a fabulous king-size sleigh bed, a relaxing seating area, exposed beams and a Loaf single bed.
En-Suite: The glorious copper bateau Jacuzzi bath takes centre stage and is set beneath the window overlooking the church and hills beyond. There is also a separate step-in shower cubicle with a monsoon shower head, WC, and hand basin.
Outside Bi-fold doors lead from the dining area outside to the terrace, which sits under the tranquil gaze of St. Nicholas Church. The multi-level terrace is filled with planting and garden sculptures, and as dusk falls a wonderful golden glow illuminates the space. Enjoy alfresco dining at the large dining table, and evening drinks around the firepit. There is also a BBQ and garden games. On-street parking for 4 cars is available.
Points of Note: 3 well-behaved dog/s are welcome for an additional fee of £47 per dog. This fee is not included in the rental price. Please advise us at the time of booking if you are bringing a dog/s and you will be sent a request for the additional fee. Please note, the owner of this property requires a £500 good housekeeping bond. They will be in contact with you directly to discuss this arrangement ahead of your stay. It is the policy of this property not to take bookings for groups where the majority of guests are under the age of 25. Please note that additional guests above the maximum capacity are not permitted. Please note, if you would like bedroom 1 or 3 to be arranged as twin rooms, please clarify this on the booking form. Beaufort Farmhouse is a Jacobean building with numerous original features including exposed beams, original staircases, and wooden floors. There is an additional charge to use the AGA, please contact the owner directly to organise this (please note there is also a gas hob, double oven and microwave for guests to use).
