Experience King George III in Edinburgh

For the first time ever, we are opening our King George III inspired flat on Vrbo for a few weeks at The Fringe in Edinburgh. We’ve crafted a unique space that is both regal and contemporary, vibrant yet sumptuous. You’ll be surrounded by the energy of Edinburgh’s bustling George Street (named after the King) below and the immersion of regal colours upstairs. We invite you to experience everything Edinburgh has to offer from your own perch overlooking the crowds of festival go-ers below.

What you’ll do
Formerly a residence built in the 18th Century, our flat has been transformed into a 2-bedroom experience intended to give you the impression of King George III – his possible madness, his recent portrayal in the musical Hamilton, and the fairytale of living amongst it all.

During your stay you will be a short walk to Edinburgh Castle, a few blocks to the train station, within steps of dozens of restaurants and coffee shops, near the decadent St. James Shopping Mall & Multrees Walk, and close to hundreds of performing arts venues transformed to host thousands of shows for The Fringe. The flat is for people who want to embrace everything Edinburgh has to offer this time of year, please understand that we don’t have a television.

While you stay with us, you can either lounge in a superking bed with thick velvet curtains blocking out the city or enclose yourself in a light blue velvet cocoon. Immersed entirely in vibrant, regal colors, from the emerald green of the primary bedroom to the sapphire blue of the sitting room, this space is designed as a daydream. The oversized windows offer unparalleled views of the street below, enhancing the joyfulness of Edinburgh’s long summer nights. (Please don’t be tempted to climb out – they won’t support a person’s weight)

Included in the décor is a bathroom delightfully wallpapered with images of long-ago animals, an unexpected view in the primary bedroom closet, an unexpectedly bright closet in the main hall, and a dozen other small elements to help you think of the King George of long ago.
