About this property

The Annexe. Very rural, tranquil, dog-friendly retreat, 5-10 mins from beaches.

Tranquil, dog-friendly, rural getaway. PLEASE NOTE: The Annexe is reached via a country track not suitable for low or specially modified vehicles. It is fine for 'normal' cars going slowly. Rural and only 5-10 minutes drive from numerous beautiful beaches on the South Coast (Praa Sands, Perranuthnoe, Marazion, Prussia Cove). Walking, mountain-biking, fishing, wildlife and bird-watching on the doorstep. Bbq and fire pit. Surf at Praa Sands, picturesque St Michaels Mount, secluded beaches at Prussia Cove. See choughs and Peregrines at Rinsey Head and seals at Godrevy . 15 minutes to the golden Sands at Hayle and St Ives.

What a lovely place to stay in Cornwall- perfect for our family of four.Heed advice re: road in- go slow and mind the bumps, an SUV is advised. We appreciated the well appointed kitchen, cleanliness, beautiful views, and clear messages from host. Thank you!!!

Perfect spot for quiet family break

Really well equipped comfortable property, had everything we could possibly need and more. Exactly as described in listing as being extremely quiet and rural. Beautiful outdoor space and views. As mentioned the drive up can be a bit gnarly but we managed it in fairly low hatchback driving slowly.

Comfortable very rural retreat

Lovely clean cottage with excellent beds and shower. Nice views - sadly weather too damp to enjoy coffee in the garden with its excellent views over countryside. Couple of hiccups quickly resolved by owner - excellent communication from Jenny throughout stay. Jennythroughout.

Access and very dated

The property was very dated and not comfortable to relax in. The access track was virtually impossible to navigate without a 4x4. The combination meant that it made less than an enjoyable and relaxing vacation. However the host was very friendly with some nice touches

I appreciate your feedback but feel that a more careful reading of the listing would have benefitted us both. Your shockingly low review score is not a true refection of The Annexe, is very unfair and does not tally with any of our previous reviews. If you had read the listing and looked at the photos you would know that The Annexe is not super high spec or a luxury modern penthouse on a well-maintained road but it is an immaculately clean, light and airy, warm, country property with gorgeous rural views, comfy sofa and beds and a lovely log burner. It also has a brand new dishwasher and washing machine. I imagine if you have previously stayed in much more expensive, high spec holiday lets that you would find the annexe a bit dated but we genuinely feel that this is reflected in the price. What we offer is superlative guest service (nothing is too much trouble for our guests), and a pristinely clean property in a beautiful location (previous reviews will reinforce this). Saying the track is virtually impossible to navigate without a 4x4 is simply not true. We, the neighbours and previous guests all happily go up and down it every day with no problems, albeit slowly. I can only assume that you must be very unused to any sort of country lanes or have been trying to go too fast. Everyone else drives up and down every day with no problems. We just have to drive slowly as I state multiple times in the listing. It's the price we pay for living in a beautiful, peaceful spot. To any future guests - please read my previous reviews for a more realistic reflection! :)
