We had a lovely stay at The Carpenters Shop. Kitchen had everything you need even tea coffee & sugar & a welcome hamper ( including treats for the dogs). The extra throws & dog beds were a nice touch. The lift was great ( without this we would not of booked) & the private field at the back was great for the dogs!
All in all a very nice place to stay.

Great dog and child friendly stay
We had a fantastic stay at The Carpenters Shop, it was perfect for our 7 dogs and 4 year old child.
The garden and paddock were a great space and we were very fortunate with the weather so got to make the most of these and the bbq too.
All bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen facilities were fantastic and there was every utensils needed in the kitchen. Everywhere was furnished well and the layout is superb. We loved the quaint and unique use of carpentry and mechanical tools - it made it really authentic.
Our only 2 downsides from a safety perspective were; the open drive way off such a busy road and we would recommend thermostatic valves or the boiler output to be lower as the hot water taps throughout the house were scoldingly hot.
We would defiantly visit again, it provided a great location for exploring all the local broads and beaches and we’d highly recommend eating at the Kings Arms for top standard food!
Many thanks for sharing your wonderful and super dog friendly accommodation!

Amazing
Absolutely amazing. By far the best cottage we have ever stayed at. Really good quality and everything you would ever need. A beautiful welcome pack for humans and dogs and very well decorated for Christmas. The large garden was brilliant and the additional 2 acre private paddock was definitely a massive bonus.

A beautiful house in a very convenient position for the coast and The Broads
This is our fourth stay at The Carpenter's Shop..It is such a lovely place to be.
Everything we could possibly need is provided. We loved the new coffee machine with coffee pods.
Our only problem is that there are no window coverings in the main room downstairs. One of our dogs is reactive and he barks at anything that moves in the garden. We have to bring large sheets of cardboard with us to put up along the bottom of the patio windows at night to prevent him seeing lots of pigeons pecking at the grass early in the morning. We do manage and I am not sure what you could put on such large windows to get around this.

Simply perfect
What an amazing place to stay. Light, airy, roomy, clean, and well- equipped. I could go on. We stayed with our 2 dogs and could not have felt more welcome and at home. The addition of a secure dog paddock was amazing, and all of the extra touches specifically for our dogs made the Carpenters shop, by far, the best dog friendly property we have ever stayed in. We will definitely be back and have already recommended it to all of our friends.

A perfect place to stay
Our stay at The Carpenters Shop was amazing. Although quirky with the upside down living it worked perfectly for a multi generation family holiday. The dogs (& humans!) loved the garden and the paddock was great fun too with the pathways cut through the long grass. Conveniently located for all that Norfolk has to offer together with the bonus of a pub a few doors down. The house had everything you needed (& more) including a welcome basket of local produce. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Multi generation holiday and 2 dogs
The house had everything we could wish for and the lift meant the house was accessible to all. The tasteful decorations nodded to the buildings history and gave a unique feel. The attached paddock was well kept with pathways cut into the long grass and the pet beds provided were a hit with our dogs. During our stay we had a minor issue which was dealt with quickly.

A fabulous short stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Carpenters Shop which is a beautiful property, quirky, with lovely nods to its past and would highly recommend it to others. We went with our two labs and our yorkie cross. The house is totally dog focused and so well equipped it has everything for your dogs comfort and the secure garden and paddock were perfect for their exercise and fun ( a proper dogs holiday as well as ours) . Our daughter and her partner joined us during our stay , we barbecued and went out to The Kings Arms which has amazing food. We felt the house catered for our every need and we had the best time. Can’t wait to go back !!!!

Couldn't have asked for more!
Everything was 1st class from the dog crate provided to the fresh milk, coffee and tea in the welcome pack - very welcome after a 5 hour drive up from the West Country! We wanted to walk and we could get to all the furthest points of the county within 1.5 hours drive - so we were very centrally placed. The local eateries recommended were wonderful and the village walks provided, helped us to get our bearings on the 1st day. The accommodation was suitable for everyone and the paddock at the back with walkways cut through the orchard was lovely. We will tell everyone one we know to visit.

A wonderful place to stay
We have just returned from The Carpenters Shop and have already booked to return next year. It is beautifully laid out, comfortable and equipped with everything you could need. The garden is spacious and the paddock is a lovely space to use when you just want a play with the dogs or maybe some search games or training.
There are several lovely beaches nearby, Winterton was our favourite. Tacons farm shop has lovely fresh veg, meat, cheese, homemade pies, bread and cakes. The staff are really friendly and helpful.
Nippy Chippy food van serves from the car park opposite. Food can be pre ordered and is freshly cooked.
If your dogs are people reactive, the bungalow next door overlooks the garden, but the occupants are friendly. A busy road runs past it but once inside, it doesn't cause a disturbance.
We can't wait to go back next year.

A home we'd love to live in forever
Carpenters Shop is just the nicest property. On arrival immaculately clean and tidy, everything we could possibly need right on hand. Top of the range cooking facilities, Ninja included! The upside down living was perfect and the lift to get food supplies upstairs on arrival was welcomed and loved by the 12 year old in our party. Parking a doddle and access to the garden spot on. Great location for exploring this part of Norfolk, well furnished with nice shops and pubs nearby. The 2.5 acre orchard/paddock was the highlight for us and our 13 dogs - so nice to be able to use this as well as our daily walks and ensure they had as good a holiday as we humans did. One of the very few holiday homes I've stayed in that I'd love to live in forever - was sad to leave and hope to be back.
Don't hesitate on booking this fabulous, quirky, well set out and thoughtful property.

For & against
The property sits back on a busy road which can’t be heard from inside.
Very comfortable beds & sofas & a well equipped kitchen.
We couldn’t use the paddock at the rear of the property as the grass has been left to grow for the wildlife with tracks cut in but unsuitable for our small dachshunds the grass hadn’t been cut in the garden for a couple of weeks or so & looked uncared for.
The oil fuelled boiler had a strong smell of fumes which is next to one of the bedrooms this was mentioned to the company that manages the holiday let but the reply was that they all smell like that.
The washing machine had a broken piece inside the drum & lots of black mould in the door seal & drawer.
It’s a shame these points let the property down as a little more attention to detail would have made our stay more enjoyable.

Winter stay
A great property for those with physical disabilities thanks to the lift. What let's this down as perfect is the low toilets with zero hand rails etc. So for those with physical disabilities who struggle to rise bringing a raiser or similar is essential.
We experienced 4 seasons in one week, rain, sun, gales and snow and ice. The paddock, great, we didn't need to drive in the snow and ice. The garden, great, for those with reactive dogs the garden, whilst secure, looks openly onto the next doors drive and front door meaning dogs are seeing people coming and going which was triggering so supervision was needed whilst the dogs were outside.
We had a few issues with repairs shower handle, broken blind, no working tin opener which took 7 days upon reporting for someone to attend and supply ones and check the issues.
The location is great, although, the property photos made it seem like it was set back from the road but in reality it's right on a busy road so care needs to be taken getting dogs in and out.
I would definitely recommend this property and book again bringing equipment needed to mitigate the low toilets.
The only word of warning to note is keep the windows closed on Tuesday evenings, we had looked forward to sampling the chips from the chip can across the road but the smell of the old oil and fish was not appealing.

A perfect get away
We came down for my birthday! 5 adults 6 dogs! Sounds like it should have been crazy but it was just heaven! The garden is plenty big enough and a gorgeous quiet setting! The paddock behind the garden is great for high energy dogs! The rooms were cosy and very comfortable! It’s a 2 minute walk from the pub in the village which serves great food!
We can’t wait to come again!
