The Bothy is a beautifully renovated Cotswold holiday cottage which sleeps two guests (no children aged nine or under permitted except for one babe in arms on request), in a well-appointed bedroom, with an ensuite bathroom. This quaint abode has been thoughtfully designed, maximising the space to its full potential. The interior is tastefully decorated with plush soft furnishings against a fresh colour palette, elegantly incorporating the best of both cosy and stylish. Set in the picturesque village of Bibury, The Bothy is the perfect bolthole for a romantic getaway.

This one bedroom holiday cottage in Bibury is perfectly suited for those looking for a romantic break, exploring the local countryside and eateries. The accommodation is laid out as follows:

The maximum occupancy for this property is 2 guests. Regrettably, The Bothy does not accept children under the age of 10, excluding babes in arms. Babes in arms do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 1 additional babe in arms and this is on enquiry only

Good location, clean but couple of issues

The owners really need to sort the key problem as everytime I went out it took me ages to get back in. I spoke to the owner on the phone who called me back but disappointed that nobody checked all was ok. Wi-Fi doesn’t work either. If these issues were sorted I would recommend the property.

The Bothy

We had a fantastic time at the Bothy.The facilities were great very warm and comfortable.The location is brilliant for exploring the local village with nice well marked trails in the local countryside and ideally situated for exploring the wider area.We took a trip into Cirencester and explored the fascinating history there . The source of the river Thames is worth a visit too

We felt the cottage was not updated and that it was dirt

The cottage had gone bones and nice materials, but was not updated to today,s standard and the cottage was not propely cleaned for a long time ! Everything from glass, decor and kitchen eqipment was dirty !

Break at the Bothy

We loved our stay at this cottage. The village of Bibury is beautiful and a great location from which to explore the Cotswolds. The cottage itself was tastefully decorated and had most of what we required for our stay. Just a little more attention to detail for kitchen items such as oven gloves and an extra oven tray would be great. The only negative we had was the level of cleanliness which was a shame as this is something that is so easily fixed. The cutlery and coffee machine had to be washed before use and there were lots of cobwebs around bedroom. We had no contact from the owners throughout our stay. We did not require any assistance, but would normally be contacted at least once by our hosts to check if everything was in order. If these few issues were addressed, we would highly recommend this cottage.

The Bothy, Great location beautiful stay, one problem

We had a lovely stay, with one problem which I will explain later in the review. The cottage is beautiful, with stylish décor and thoughtful touches like wine and brownie bites on arrival. The parking was so helpful, and the stay is quiet, which made it very relaxing. The location couldn’t have been better, with Arlington Row right on the doorstep, plus great local pubs and coffee shops nearby. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay. However, the bathroom was awkward to use as the sink and door were too large for the space. The biggest issue though was the number of woodlice in the cottage. Unfortunately, they were even in our bed every night, which left us feeling uneasy and not fully comfortable during the stay. We even discussed leaving one night early, as pulling back the sheets to find woodlice in the bed was so unpleasant. This cottage has so much potential, but the woodlice problem really let it down for us, and due to this we’d struggle to stay again. It ultimately ruined what could have been a perfect stay, and we feel a partial refund would be fair, as any pest issue like this should be declared upfront.

As the property is over 450 years old, it was built long before modern damp-proofing techniques were available. With the recent heavy rains, the stonework naturally absorbed some moisture, which unfortunately created conditions that attracted woodlice. We do hope that you enjoyed your time exploring the Cotswolds.
