Directly between Easton's (1st beach) and Sachuest (2nd Beach) Beaches, makes for an enjoyable walk to the water, while stillh minutes from downtown Newport, Cliff Walk, Norman bird sanctuary, Second Beach (Sachuest), Third Beach, and Newport Vineyards. This cozy, but spacious 3-floor cottage boasts 3 comfortable bedrooms - (1 king, 1 full and 2 twins) and two full baths - one on each floor.
Open plan living area, hardwood floors, lovely, bright dining room with French doors leading to a walk-out deck. Fully furnished with all the amenities for cooking.
The basement TV/game room has a large flat-screen TV and games.
The extra-large deck off the dining room is great for alfresco dining and gathering, featuring a BBQ grill, as well as small private yard to relax after a long day at the beaches or to play lawn games.
Other great features to make your stay enjoyable: Wifi, cable, off-street parking, full size washer/dryer in laundry room, bed and bath linens provided, in summer months-window air-conditioned in the upstairs bedrooms and/or fans for continuous air flow, portable air conditioner in the living room and portable air-conditioner in the basement.

Enjoyable holiday weekend
My family loved our stay at the Mermaid Cottage! The proximity to the beach is great. Traffic can be a bit heavy getting in and out of Newport town, especially on a holiday weekend. Lots of room for families, the spacious basement was used as well. Overall I’d recommend the cottage to anyone looking to visit the area.

The property was great and everything that's posted about this property is very accurate. Jackie and her husband were so easy to work with and if I had any issues they would get back to me within 2 minutes. I would tell anyone to rent this place because it has everything you need plus tons of character and charm!! The location was perfect we were 3 minutes from second beach and 5 minutes with traffic to first beach.

Fantastic deck! Great location!
We absolutely adored our stay at the Mermaid Cottage. The kitchen had everything we needed and the rooms were wonderfully comfortable. The decor is really cheery and the deck is the best!

Great Location!
Our family really enjoyed our stay at this home. The location was perfect for us - walking distance to the beach and some restaurants/stores. Quick drive to downtown Newport. The house was clean, nicely decorated and had everything we needed. We hope to stay again!

Great location, beautiful back deck!
This house was perfect for our group of 5 people, although it easily sleeps more than that. The house had everything we were looking for and the highlight was the beautiful back deck!

Newport Visit
Nice living areas with lots of natural light. Well equipped kitchen. Conveniently located close to beach, restaurants and Cliff Walk. We really enjoyed our stay.

WE love this house!
It was our 2nd stay at the Mermaid House and it is just as comfortable as we remembered. The kitchen is so well stocked and easy to cook in, and the porch is perfect for enjoying fall evenings. We will definitely be coming back for more visits!
