About this property
Stunning Lake Washington and Mount Rainier Views! Access to shared waterfront!
Comfortable, contemporary home with stunning south-facing Lake Washington and Mount Rainier views from most rooms in the house! Includes access to privately owned waterfront and beach property. Inspiring architecture and details: slanted bay floor-to-ceiling windows, harmonious use of metal, stone and wood. Wake up to birds singing or eagles gliding past. Relax on the great view deck which captures the 180 degree panorama. Close in, central location, yet feels private and peaceful. Truly unique!
The Space: Looking down upon Lake Washington's Juanita Bay from this home's terrific vantage point, you'll feel like one of the eagles that frequently perch in the towering cottonwood tree just outside the living room. The main level takes full advantage of the spectacular scenery with walls of windows, enabling terrific views from the kitchen, dining and living rooms, all of which are open to each other in a functional, flowing floor plan. There are two view decks; one is off the master bedroom and the other off the living room. The latter is furnished with a stainless BBQ, outdoor seating, and a long, custom-fabricated glass table. The main level also has an office nook, pantry with sink, and powder room. The middle level has 3 bedrooms and two baths, including the master suite. The master features a soaking tub, dual vanities, a double-headed shower and a deck. The middle level also has a huge laundry with office space, and a media room stocked with games and a plasma TV. One more level down there is the 4th bedroom and adjacent 3/4 bath.
Guest access You will have access to the whole house except the garage, the master closet, a linen closet and one of the office spaces. We live here when we are in town and not traveling, so the house remains fully furnished. Please note: there is a mother-in-law apartment on the very bottom level of our house that has a long-term renter in it, but it is completely separate from the main house with its own entrance. As such, we request it be quiet after 10:00pm until 8am. We also request that guests respect the privacy of this tenant and not use the lowest level yard area in front of their windows. Guests are also invited to make use of our neighborhood's community beach and enjoy the private access to the waterfront it provides. Depending on the season, all sorts of fun activities can be experienced with this as home-base; there's boating, sailing, kayaking, canoeing, paddle-boarding, kite surfing and swimming. There's a fire pit, a barbecue, picnic tables and plenty of parking.
Guest interaction: This is our own house, but when we leave for extended vacations we will have an experienced host on duty while we are away.
Neighborhood overview: A short 10 minute walk to Juanita Village gets you to a plethora of great restaurants, including the perpetually outstanding (albeit expensive) Cafe Juanita. During the spring through fall, our local farmer's market is held on Fridays just at the bottom of our hill, at the popular Juanita Beach Park. Just ten minutes drive is the vibrant downtown core of Kirkland, which has art, events, fantastic restaurants, nightlife and an idyllic waterfront park and marina. Juanita Beach park is a 10 minute walk and great for kids with a playground, volleyball, sandy beach, bathroom facilities and covered eating areas. Our neighborhood waterfront beach is even closer and has picnic tables, a fire-pit and parking; a great place to let kids run around or roast marshmallows.
Getting around: Juanita Village and Juanita Beach Park as well as our community beach are all within walking distance. There is also the 255 Metro bus that will take you right to Seattle. Gooogle and Microsoft are easy commutes, and even though traffic is getting thicker these days, it usually takes less than a half an hour to get into downtown Seattle from our house, and only twenty minutes to get to downtown Bellevue.

The view of Lake Washington from the house is spectacular! Very comfortable home for our family gathering in Kirkland. Eric was a great communicator and made our stay easy.
We had 3 generations traveling together. This beautiful property allowed us to play cards together or have some space if we wanted it. Loved the area as well!
Beautiful spacious home with amazing views. We stayed over Thanksgiving with our adult children and had a lovely time. We all had plenty of space and also able to gather as a family for puzzles and games. The home also has a fantastic kitchen where we cooked some great meals together.

Kathleen and her family were great guests. They were easy to communicate, respected our house rules and left out home in great condition. I would definitely have them as guests again.
There are more cons then pros to this rental so that’s the reason for 2 star rating.
There are more cons then pros to this rental so that’s the reason for 2 star rating. The views of ____ lake are amazing, the beds are comfortable & the location is good if you do not want to stay right in Seattle. The home has an ant & spider issue, there are no screens on the windows, the deck is full sun so you can’t enjoy it during the day and the lock to access the home is a bit challenging.

As hosts, we try our best to provide a comfortable stay in our home and exceed guests’ expectations. We are accustomed to 5 star reviews, so your 2 star review comes as a shock and is an anomaly. We are sorry you were dissatisfied. Our home’s architecture takes full advantage of its proximity to nature and the amazing lake and mountain views. We have nearly 80 windows, and have screens on the ones that are best suited for cross ventilation. If the unscreened windows or doors are left open for long periods, inevitably bugs can get in. This has never been a problem in the past, nor since your stay. The upper deck with its unrestricted 180 degree views is one of the finest features of our home. We are sorry you did not enjoy it because of too much sun. There is a shade umbrella stored on the deck below that you were welcome to use. The lower deck is shaded all day and has a table with chairs as well as a chaise lounge. The electronic smart lock we use to enter the house was installed specifically for short term rental use, and was chosen for its ease of use. You are the only guest to have challenges with it, sorry for that. It was and still is working properly. Again, we are sorry your stay was only worthy of 2 stars- we will strive to communicate even better with future guests to make sure their experiences are top notch.
The property was beautiful, the home was amazing, and the view of Lake Washington and Mt. Rainer was unhooked! The kitchen was fully appointed to cook a Christmas feast for 8 and the fireplace keep us cozy every night. Our sincere thanks to Eric and Laura!
Remarkable 5 ⭐️ home with an outstanding kitchen, spacious floor plan and glorious views from nearly every room. Our family enjoyed every aspect of our stay. Thank you Laura and Eric for sharing your beautiful home with us.
This wonderful home and location were exactly what I was looking for. My wife and I were visiting to help our daughter move back to Seattle for school. I wanted a home on Lake Washington where we could enjoy a beautiful view and have a chance to make meals in the house instead of eating out.
This home was perfect for us. The location is great. Sitting on the deck overlooking the lake made me seriously consider moving into the neighborhood. The kitchen had everything you could need. The master bedroom also has incredible views and it's own deck.
The owners were wonderful to work with. They actually were working on an outdoor project and weren't sure if they wanted to rent out the house. They were nice enough to squeeze us in. Once we were there they were very responsive to any questions we had.
Overall we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We visit Seattle often and have stayed in 5 different VRBO homes in the last year. This will be the first home I look to rent every time.
Most amazing view from this beautiful well designed home!
This was hands down the nicest, most well appointed Airbnb we have ever had the pleasure of staying at. After spending a long weekend in the area, our most scenic and best times were just lounging at this beautiful home with amazing views of Washington Lake and Mt. Rainer. It was especially great to have such a beautiful place to stay during COVID when most things are shut down. Tasty takeout is close by and you will not find a better dining view. We will most definitely try to stay again next trip to Seattle.
Lovely home with incredible views of Lake Washington and Mt Rainier. The hosts met us on arrival and explained the property and the area. We had everything we needed for the perfect time with family.
Our family came together to celebrate Thanksgiving and our sons first marathon in Seattle. I found this property and knew it would be perfect. Views, views, views! Everyday we were treated with Mt. Rainer, ducks, boats, birds and amazing sunrise and sunset. The entire house was well appointed with what we needed to make our feast! My favorite part the coffee room off the kitchen.
This is an amazing place to stay! They had every convenience you could think of and the view - spectacular. The guests would look out of one of the windows and get lost in the view - we had to yell at them to bring them back into the conversation! Everyone enjoyed staying there - it really was the perfect home away from home.
The one negative is getting there -- the one-lane road gets a bit tricky but you eventually figure out where you can pull off to let other cars pass. When you get to the top of the hill and the residence, you'll find it was all worth it.
We spent a week in seattle for water skiing and the house is perfect, great layout fantastic views and the location is great. Laura has the house set up so you enjoy the stay and need for nothing.
Thanks guys we will be back.
Enjoyed the views and the unique design of this home. Fully stocked, had everything we needed. Owner was very responsive when we had questions. We would stay here again.
This place was perfect for our family of 4 couples. We took advantage of the surrounding area including going downtown once, but the best part was feeling like we were somewhere special when we were just staying at home. The house takes every advantage of it's setting with great views anywhere you are. We ate all our meals on the large table on the deck, we played games at the dining room table, sat around and talked in the comfortable living room, made our meals in the well appointed kitchen - again all with spectacular views of Lake Washington and even Mount Rainer Thanks for sharing your place with us..
We had an amazing weekend staying at Laura’s gorgeous home. The home is extremely comfortable, surprisingly spacious, and stocked with great care. We had everything we could possibly need during our trip. Laura met us to check us in to the property and was very easy to communicate with during our stay. A highlight of our weekend was grilling dinner on the big balcony, soaking in the Mt Rainier and Lake Washington views. Would highly recommend this place to anyone, and would absolutely want to stay here again myself. Thanks Laura!

Wonderful views, great people to "rent" from
First and foremost, the views at this location are incredible. The majority of Lake Washington expands before the viewer, whether inside the living space or outside on the deck. Mt. Rainier is visible on clear days, as are Bellevue and Seattle. The kitchen is modernized and the owners give you ample space to store your own groceries, the living room is cozy, and the master has the same views as the top floor. Be aware that the stairs are steep, as is to be expected when a home is built into an edifice.

wow wow wow
Truly amazing experience. The owners of the property went way out of their way to keep in touch with info and guidance. As for the house, it was exactly as the pictures depict it. Sometimes folks play with camera angles and such to make things seem better than reality. If anything, the reality was even better than the pics. Beautiful home. Perfect location. Couldn't ask for a better experience. Like I said, AMAZING.

Beautiful home with stunning views
This is our second stay in this lovely home set up on the hill overlooking Lake Washington. The south facing windows reveal stunning views of the lake, Mt. Rainer and city lights. Their lovely living room, dining room, master bedroom and guest room all have large windows which allow you to take in the beautiful setting. The home design has the kitchen overlooking the living room so you can easily enjoy others in the living room and see out the windows to the spectacular views beyond. The owners are extremely welcoming and the home is very well appointed. We were so thankful to have had two opportunities to share time together as a family in this amazing home. We hope we will be able to enjoy another stay in the future.

About the host
Hosted by Laura
My husband and I built this house 17 years ago. Eric did much of the work on it and has painted all the artwork. We love it here and so does everyone that sees it. We are recently empty nesters and our house is a bit big for us. That combined with our love of travel and adventures has led us to try to rent out our home short term.
Why they chose this property
Seattle, Kirkland and our home.. what is not to love? Beautiful 180 degree views, birds chirping in the mornings, eagles soaring by.... Relax and enjoy.
What makes this property unique
We strive to make your stay as comfortable as possible. To this end, we'll have a detailed Guestbook describing both house essentials as well as various interesting things to do, places to visit, restaurants to experience, etc.
