Cringlemire Farm Cottage - 17th century cottage that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms
Cringlemire Farm Cottage is a beautifully restored traditional Lakeland cottage and has a certain quality that makes you feel instantly at home, snug and relaxed, in the most blissfully quiet of locations.
Great care has been taken in the recent restoration to showcase great original features in this 17th century dog-friendly cottage. Original blue flag stone flooring, beams, and lots of solid oak abound to create a really nice ambience with good levels of natural light. Modern features include underfloor heating, a great woodburning stove, modern fitted kitchen, a utility room with washer and dryer, and of course, Wi-Fi with a Smart TV. Despite the 'deep in the countryside' feel, the cottage is quite easy to reach being only 30 minutes drive from the M6 and a 10 minute walk from the village pub in the village of Bouth.
The open plan lounge/dining area provides plenty of space and is furnished with two very good sofas strategically positioned to enjoy both the TV and the woodburning stove. The dining table seats four in comfort and is just a few steps from the kitchen. An interesting display of Beatrix Potter crockery has an interesting connection - the owner's grandfather was the inspiration for the Beatrix Potter character 'Farmer Potatoes'. A few steps to the smart kitchen area and utility area beyond with a washer and dryer plus a handy extra WC. Air source underfloor heating keeps steady temperature but the woodburner can also be used of course for extra heat and ambience.
Ascend the beautiful oak staircase to the two bedrooms and bathroom. The double bedroom is a relaxing haven adorned with an original beam, and there is good all-round space and a built-in wardobe. The twin room (2'6" width beds) can be configured as a Kingsize bed if preferred (please request your preference when booking). The twin room enjoys a view over the garden /orchard area. Also on this floor is the house bathroom which has a good-size walk-in shower and heated towel rail.
To the rear is a lovely secluded garden which is fenced all around. Seating is provided and you may be lucky enough to see the visiting wildlife including deer, badgers, hedgehogs, and occasionally, flying overhead, a visiting Osprey. There is ample parking space for 3 cars right outside the cottage.
