The bedrooms consist of a king-size with TV, and a second-floor twin with en-suite basin and WC, serviced by a bathroom. Outside, there is an enclosed front garden with patio, lawn, bench and furniture, and roadside parking. Two well-behaved dogs welcome. Sorry, no smoking. You'll find a shop in 1.2 miles, a pub in 1 mile, and a river in 1.5 miles. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price. Pineapple Cottage is a charming base for exploring Bakewell and the Peak District. Note: Communal entrance at the front of property. Note: Direct access to the Monsal Trail. Note: Stairs are steep, please take care.

Region: The ultimate in “year-round” appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.

Town: An attractive little market town retaining a delightful rural atmosphere and offering a good selection of shops, restaurants, and pubs, as well as local farmers markets. There is an old 17th- century market hall in the town centre and a modern leisure centre with swimming pool nearby. Bakewell is situated within the Peak District National Park and is ideally placed for exploring this beautiful region. Both the rugged Dark Peak and the softer limestone White Peak are within easy reach, and Alton Towers, Britain’s premier theme park, is only a short drive away. There are many stately homes to visit including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, and Hardwick Hall to mention just a few, while the impressive caverns in nearby Castleton and Little John’s burial place in Hathersage are also well worth a visit. Take a trip to Buxton and visit the impressive Edwardian Opera House, designed by Frank Matcham, who also designed the London Palladium.
