Entering via the hallway, find your way into the cosy lounge, a place set up for afternoon naps as much as family film nights. Elsewhere, the kitchen/diner is where foodies can create and consume guilt-free favourites to their heart’s content, working up an appetite in the nearby games room. The first floor is home to a family shower room and four stylish bedrooms: two double bedrooms, one with an en-suite; and two twin bedrooms, one of which can be converted into a super-king-size bedroom upon request. The dogs can expect to find plenty of excuses for walks during a stay here, and it’s an easy 500-metre stroll to Portreath’s stunning beach and historic harbour, long a magnet for watersports and seafood lovers. There’s direct access to the South West Coast Path from the village, a great way to see the coast from another angle. Other routes nearby take in reminders of the area’s mining past and a host of wooded areas. For something farther afield, Godrevy Lighthouse, the village of Hayle and the vibrant seaside town of St Ives are all within 16 miles.
