The bedroom is a king‑size with an additional Smart TV, serviced by a bathroom with corner bath, shower over, basin, heated towel rail and WC. There is also a king-size bedroom with en-suite walk-in shower, basin and WC and a sitting area with Smart TV. Outside, there is an enclosed garden with patio, gravelled area and furniture and off‑road parking for four cars. Two well‑behaved pets welcome, but sorry, no smoking. You’ll find a shop within 1.8 miles and a pub within 0.9 miles. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price. The Dove Cot is a delightful base for exploring Lake District National Park. Note: children and dogs to be supervised due to the deep water at the edges of the property. Note: There are a couple of steps up to the bedrooms. Note: there is a Good Housekeeping Bond of 100GBP

A walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre. Ambleside has plenty of restaurants and pubs to suit all tastes from great fish & chips to its two Michelin Star restaurants and all tastes in between are catered for.
