Summary:
This lovely converted Granary has use of an outdoor pool and sleeps up to three people in one bedroom. The open landscape is perfect for cycling, bird watching, fishing and walking, The Quantocks, the Mendips and the cities of Bath and Wells .
The Space:
The Granary is within the grounds of the owner's' extensive home and is a super holiday cottage. Secluded lawn and garden with paved patio BBQ area. Solar heated swimming pool is available from the beginning of the May half term holiday - beginning of September and us shared with the Owners. The living space is open plan with lofty ceilings, feature stone walls and glazed doors which look over the garden. From the neat kitchen, steep stairs lead to the bright and airy bedroom on the mezzanine which has a double bed and single bed for flexible sleeping arrangement but please note max occupancy is 3 guests. The property has off-road parking for two cars. Note: The solar heated pool is only available between May and August and is shared with the owners. Note: The Granary has steep, narrow stairs. Note: Maximum three guests. Regrettably, babies and children from 0 to 6 years cannot be allowed. The property has secure bike storage. Note: The property and pool may not be suitable for people with limited mobility. Note: For any holiday between 1st September and 31st May, there is a heating supplement of £20.00 per week. Please note this property cannot accept pets but the owner does have a labrador on site. Shop and post office 5 minutes walk. 4 pubs nearby, one walking distance. Sandy beach 11 miles away at Burnham on sea. Note: This property can only accept a short break between 15th - 18th August 2025 and can only accommodate weekly bookings at any other week.
The Neighborhood:
Edington is a lovely rural village situated in the vale of The Polden Hills, Somerset, in Southwest England. The village boasts a handy fully stocked shop a short walk away and four welcoming village pubs, all close by. This is an excellent base for touring the area, with the stunning towns of Street and Glastonbury a scenic drive away, where you can visit the historic Abbey and famous Glastonbury Tor. For fabulous shopping facilities, you can explore Clarks Village which is a designer outlet in Street, a place that is also a charming market town with plenty of amenities. If a day at the beach is what you are after, the long sandy beaches at Burnham-on-Sea and Weston Super Mare are easily reachable, and a visit to see Burnham’s historic Grade II lighthouse is a must. Avid walkers can make the most of the nearby Mendip and Quantock Hills, both Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and feature magnificent walking and cycling opportunities. Finally the area is renowned for the number of RSPB nature reserves, a number of which are within a 5-mile drive from Edington, offering endless bird watching and fantastic nature trails.
