Great Girlfriend Getaway

This house was beautiful and just as pictured! We loved the porch and rooftop deck, but most of all the location is PERFECT. You are steps away from the beautiful beach. We were able to set up our own chairs and umbrellas no problem. Our location allowed us short drives to the different towns too. It was clean and modern feeling, perfect for a girlfriend trip. Thanks for having us and hope to be back!

Sounds of the Waves

Sounds of the waves, the views, and beach access were all reasons why we loved staying here! We had an amazing time! The property was as described and quick access to the beach made it so easy especially with young children needing a break from the sun. From all 3 levels and the decks surrounding the home you can hear the waves crashing, this and the smell of the salt made our stay amazing. There were a few maintenance issues that we reported to the property management team after our departure, nothing too major to disrupt our trip.

Reviews of this rental are helpful, accurate and I won't comment on what has already been posted. Here are a few adds: -key fob works the pool gate as well as the gate at the end of Ryan Street (if you ride bikes on trail, you can go out this way)-bike rental company (La Dolce Vita) is top notch! they respond immediately to you - we called about needing air added to tires, they came out right away!! even one of our guests called them with an issue while out biking and they met her to fix it! 5 star service :) AWESOME that the rental includes these bikes from this company!-two baby cribs in closet downstairs, and a toddler highchair that attaches to a chair. -no beach toys on propertyLike so many mentioned, nice house, not super clean, not a single comfortable seat inside, but many wonderful areas to sit outside. three levels of porches with beautiful ocean views! I hope the repairs that need to be done to this house will happen (have mentioned them to Southern) because I am sure it would receive a 5star rating at that point (from everyone).

Great Getaway

We really enjoyed our stay at Magonlia House. It was exactly as posted on VRBO. House was great location, easy access to the beach maybe 20 yards if that and you could watch the sunset right from the front porch. Even though the house is not sitting oceanfront-- the way the house is positioned you have oceanfront views we would sit and watch the water every morning and evening! The house was a great size. I loved that the house had a full bathroom for each bedroom and an extra half bath upstairs. No one had to share a bathroom with guest. (Big BONUS). Kitchen was fully stocked with what every kitchen appliances you needed. All appliances seem to be fairly new and all working. Bathrooms are nicely updated and spa like. Working TV's and remotes in every room. Great laundry room and washer and dryer. Bikes were in excellent conditions. The kids loved riding them every day and night. It was a very family friendly little development. We felt safe to have the kids ride the bikes around.

Extremely disappointing

Magnolia House was as described as far as location, layout of the house, close proximity to the beach, but was the filthiest place we have ever rented. I sent 19 pictures to the rental agent of dirty furniture; dust, feathers and hard play doh behind the TV; a Twizzler laying on the baseboard along with candy wrappers, cracker crumbs and wrappers under two beds; dirty socks under a bed; hairs on extra sheets; a vacuum canister full of disgusting thick dust from one air vent; pink mold on a shower curtain and black mold on the baseboards in that bathroom; mold on a bedroom rug, and on and on. It’s a shame that a nice house has been let go that way. Three roaches were also spotted, two in the bedroom where candy and food wrappers were. The rental agent had offered half of the cleaning fee back as compensation since all this wasn’t reported immediately. Things were discovered as our stay went on by accident. My granddaughter dropped her phone under the bed on the fourth night of our stay and that led to finding the candy, etc. and explained the roach she saw the second night we were there. Would never return.

A lot of money, many issues

Considering the money we paid for this property, the many issues we encountered are unacceptable. I will enumerate those through VRBO's messaging system. However, while writing I will add this for everyone's awareness: Anyone and everyone that comes to Walton Co, or the entire state of Florida for that matter, needs to know of the elitist attitude around what should be a natural resource and free to use for all citizens - the beaches. The county and state statutes and ordinances allows a person with property abutting a beach to keep all land, across dry sand, and down to the mean high tide line, as off-limits. We have been coming to the FL panhandle in the Seaside area for 20+ years and today there is almost no place you go along the beach without sign after sign saying "private beach" or "no trespassing". We just spent the last 2 weeks here and paid good money to rent a house for one week (we had 7 people here) and a condo the second week (for just my wife and me) and also spent money in the area to eat out, by groceries, and shop yet the "thanks" we get is "sorry, you can't go out on this area of the beach, or that area, or, sorry, that one either". For the last 2 days a hired security guy was sitting out under an umbrella in front of 4 new condos going up at the corner of Beachside Dr and San Roy Rd,, and was running off anyone who tried to set a chair or towel, etc., on the dry sand between these buildings and the water ... and they were still just under construction - no one was using them! I can't imagine how the people with houses just behind these must be reacting. This is ridiculous elitist attitude and unfortunately supported at the state level. I will likely stop supporting Walton Co and the state of FL for this reason. You should too.

Spring Break Stay

This house was out of the hustle and bustle of 30A, but close to everything. Easy beach access, across from the heated pool, close to grocery store and many restaurants. We had a very relaxing time. I highly recommend Butterfly bicycle rentals. They had our bikes delivered before we arrived. The code for the locks was the last four digits of my phone #. Others we called were sold out for the week. Another good idea is to call 30A Shade before you arrive. They will have your chairs and umbrella set up and ready for you each day.

Nice vacation but our last year in Seagrove

This was our 5th year and last year staying in Seagrove. It was our 3rd year in Summers Edge. Pros -House was in good condition -nice neighborhood -staff was responsive with any issues -great location with beach access across the street -pools well maintained -great location to ride bikes almost anywhere Cons -LOTS of construction on 2 houses right in front of this house starting about 7am -contractors park right in front of house blocking the porch entrance even though it says private parking. -beach space is restricted and property owners put up signs saying stay off -no tents or canopies allowed anymore -there is space to put up your own umbrellas right by the beach access but no Summers Edge designated area. -Seaside has implemented valet parking utilizing about 1/3 of the parking. This really took up a lot of the already very limited parking. It’s good if you want valet but we did not. This was our last year because of the beach situation. All the signs the property owners put up in the middle of the beach take away from the beauty of the beach. Also, It’s annoying to try to figure out where you are “allowed” to sit so that the beach chair people and home owner reps don’t harass you. Most people who go to the beach just want a relaxing vacation and don’t want to think about if you’re sitting in the allowed area. It’s a shame because it’s changed so much in the last 5 years and not for the positive for visitors.
