Tom's Mom's-Dog Friendly/WalkWinthrop! Parking for Recreational Vehicles!
Built in the 60's as a town home for one of the original Methow Valley pioneer's mother-Emma, Tom's Mom's House(a dog friendly, legal, licensed nightly rental with a current Okanogan County health permit as required by law)is newly updated and ready for guests. It is a 3-bedroom, 1.75-bathroom rambler, with enough room to stretch out. Enough room for 2 or 3 cars with trailers this house is great for snowmobilers in the winter or those with jet skis when visiting the Methow. Lots of light, with large windows that face east, south, and west. Views to the north offer treetop glimpses of the East Chewuch river below and peekaboo views of the East Chewuch valley beyond. There is room for your horse trailers, or snowmobile trailers to park, and it is an easy stroll to the old west Winthrop boardwalk shops and eateries. Not too much further up the road is the turn off to Pearrygin Lake. Inside, the living room is large and spacious, with a nice dining area. There is a propane gas fire place and a Smart TV for watching your favorite shows or sports. The kitchen is large enough for someone to make a mess, while someone else is trying to cook. (not a bad plan for a family house).
BBQ(seasonally available), picnic table and a nice large front yard with local deer passing through are available.
Three bedrooms are 'down the hall', as are the 1.75 bathrooms. There is one King, and two Queen bedrooms. There is a full bathroom with a tub/shower combo and a .75 bathroom with a shower, sink and toilet
A universal Tesla Wall Connector 50amps, NACS & J1772 compatible is available in the garage for those with electric vehicles. ************************************************** EXTREMELY IMPORTANT YEAR ROUND TRAVEL INFORMATION--READ BEFORE BOOKING A RESERVATION: 1)It is the responsibility of the guest to have travel plans in place to travel either over the North Cascades via Highway 20 OR to travel over Steven's Pass through Leavenworth OR to travel I-90 over Snoqualmie to Blewett Pass through Wenatchee and then up the Columbia river to the Methow Valley. If one route is closed, it is the YOUR responsibility to make alternate plans for travel. NO REFUNDS will be given at any time of the year simply because an alternate route must be taken and add additional travel time. Highway 20 is closed in the winter and mountain passes can be closed anytime of the year because of wildfires, rockslides or other occurrences. Directions over all the routes will be sent to. you 3 days before your arrival. Make sure to check pass reports(and they can change while you are en route) and print out the directions before you leave.

INTERNET POLICY..PLEASE NOTE: **We strive to provide the best internet service we can get here in the very rural Methow Valley. Internet speeds vary throughout the valley and outages or tech issues can occur that we have no control over, and for these reasons NO REFUNDS are given if the internet is problematic. We also do not guarantee that the internet will meet your work/school needs. Should you have an issue with internet service, please send us a message through VRBO describing the problem. We will then contact you to troubleshoot. If the issue is not resolved, we will then contact the internet provider, and/or homeowner. Please note... our valley is very rural and getting service personnel to fix things in a timely manner can be a challenge. We rent lodging, not office space.
Public internet is available at the Winthrop library with enhanced internet speed (parking lot or inside the library). Alternatively, for a fee you can go to the Dropzone in downtown Winthrop. Thank you for your understanding!
IMPORTANT WINTER INFORMATION : **Should you travel to the Methow during the winter months it is important to understand that you must be prepared for winter driving(keep chains, shovel...in the car) and all the inconveniences it causes you and the community you are visiting. The weather can be extreme with large snowfalls, unexpected technical issues, frozen pipes, impassable roads/driveways). If it snows while here you will have to wait for plow service just like every other person in the valley. There are a limited number of plow companies and Methow Reservations nor the owners of the house are in control of the plow company schedules. They have many different contracts and many miles of roads, driveways...to plow. If a plow person or a snow shoveler shows up to clear any area around the house, please do not argue with them or turn them away. Move your vehicles if asked. Your cooperation and patience are required especially after any significant snow accumulation. Should you get stuck you can call Classic Towing in Twisp, WA

This was such a family friendly property! My kids were delighted with the basket of toys and room to run around outside! I was thrilled with the amount of baking dishes and pots and pans.
This place is only a 5-10 minute walk to town and the same drive time to the lake. Great location, private although close to the main road. Had everything we needed for 6 people
This home was perfect for our family, and so close to town! Clean, comfortable, and had plenty of amenities. We will definitely book here again the next time we’re in Winthrop.
This is the perfect property in the perfect location. House is very comfortable & clean. We enjoyed our stay and will defiantly be back and recommend this home to others.
This house is a close walk to town and had everything we needed. I stayed there with my 6 year old daughter and our 5 month old puppy. We could easily walk into town to explore and eat, and it’s only a 5 minute drive to the lake. The house had all necessary stuff to cook our meals and it has A/C which worked really well.

Happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay! Come again anytime!
We came in for the annual Loup Loup Skimo race and Tom’s Mom’s place was a perfect spot for us to rest up after turning ourselves inside out at the race. Definitely recommend!
Lovely property on the bluff overlooking the river, walking distance to downtown and all the unique shops and restaurants, and really convenient to Pearrygin Lake for those hot July days.
Property was as advertised. Clean. Convenient check in and close to town. Had issues upon arrival and property management team took care of it promptly. We have a dog and would encourage the owners to invest in even a partial fenced enclosure. We would gladly rebook!

Thanks for your feedback and comments about dog fencing. We will surely suggest that to the homeowner. Regards
Clean. Lots of room and well equipped. The garage was a bonus for us as we had vintage motorcycles to keep safe. The manager said the garage was not lockable but if fact it was. Good walkable distances to town.

Comfortable and roomy accomodations
Perfect choice for traveling with a 4 year old. Had considered two hotel rooms as there were 3 adults and the child, but opted for a house rental. So nice to come back from various excursions to a roomy home, comfortable beds, and a kitchen with everything we needed to fix our meals. Add in some cute decorations and the daily visit from deer, and this place was perfect! And quiet!!!!!! Thank you.

We really enjoyed our stay at this spacious house. My daughter lives in Twisp and we were celebrating her wedding. Plenty of sleeping room for everyone. The washer and dryer was a big advantage. Close to shopping and trails. We enjoyed the mama deer and her babies every morning out the kitchen window. Everything worked great. Wifi was not the greatest, but that is common for this area. Would definitely stay again.

Thank you for your great feedback! Yes, spotty wifi at times can be one of the downsides to living near the North Cascades. But we consider it worth it for the close proximity to so many amazing hikes! Come again anytime :)
It was a very roomy house and had all the amenities we needed. We were visiting our sister's daughters who are out there that didn't have room for us. We went on a lot of adventures during the day so it was nice having a house to return to in the evening. Would rent the house again. Great stay in Winthrop.
Tom's Mom's House worked out perfectly for our group of four crossscountry ski friends--location, kitchen, dining, living area, bedrooms and mud room. Would have liked to know where we could recycle bottles closeby.
We come to the Methow every year in the spring to birdwatch, Tom's Mom's House was a convenient and comfortable spot and we saw a number of birds in the trees around the property. Hearing quail when you wake up in the morning is great!
It was a nice house that we all enjoyed. The kitchen had a little bit of everything we needed. Thank you. We had a sit down dinner together and there were enough dishes for all of to enjoy that meal.
The headboards in 2 of the bedrooms, they were not attached and everytime we moved in our sleep, the next room was kept awake from the banging against the wall. Of course jokes were abound the next day. It would do well to fix them.
Would stay there again! Very clean!!

Hi there, thank you for your comments..did you mean to give this more than one star? Sounds like you had a nice time.
The house provided a cozy, convenient base for our nordic skiing holiday. In bad weather we were able to easily walk into Winthrop. The only issue was that the oven had a black puddle from a previous guest in the bottom; otherwise everything was spotless and easy.
