About this property

Beautiful A-frame Near Mount Rainier National Park and Crystal Mountain

A lovely A-frame home with Modern updates on 4 acres of forest close to a river and a 15 minute drive to the entrance of Rainier National Park.

Come enjoy a peaceful getaway from the city at this well-equipped, lovingly refinished A-frame in the woods. Tons of hiking, bicycling and in the winter skiing to be had!

The Main Floor includes a soaring Living/Dining space with a cozy L-shaped lounging couch and large dining table that seats 6. The front wall of home is a wall of windows looking onto the surrounding forest. Enjoy looking at the peaceful greenery of the forest from every room! Adjacent to the Living/Dining room is the Kitchen with plenty of dishes, cookware, and basic amenities. At the rear of Main Level are two bedrooms, one with a queen bed, the 2nd with bunkbeds. The full bath is between the two bedrooms, and was recently updated with a new vanity and glass shower door.

Upstairs is the open sleeping Loft - this space is open to Living/Dining below but the high ceilings give this room privacy. The loft sleeping room has a king size bed and a 1/2 bath with small sink and toilet behind privacy wall. You feel like you are sleeping in a treehouse in this room! Access to the Loft via a steep open stair, not suitable for small children.

The exterior offers 800 square feet of decks for sun-bathing or resting in the shade, plenty of parking, a nice grassy yard with children's swingset. There is an outdoor dining table with four chairs and a rocking bench on the main deck level at front of house. Additional lounge Adirondack chairs are located on the patio at ground level.

Yard is fenced with gate at driveway to help keep elk out of yard. There are several small water features- mini ponds to enhance yard - look for goldfish and frogs!

We hope you will consider a stay at our mountain retreat and enjoy the peaceful forest setting.

Absolutely fabulous gem in the woods close to Mt.Rainier
This is a hidden gem in Seattle area - hikes all around. Relaxing but still high-tech cabin. Cabin can easily sleep up to 6 people. Everything you need is there. A/C, fridge, fireplace, jakuzzi, high speed internet... If you need to work during your stay - no issues with Connection. Communication with owners is also top class. they will provide everything you need. Again - absolute gem... we will be back soon!!!

So glad we stayed here
The kitchen was the best-equipped we've ever encountered. Soaking in the hot tub after hikes on Mt. Rainier was divine. The house accommodated my husband, me, and my husband's brother and wife very nicely. It's a treat to have a half bath in a loft. We felt we had everything we needed, including a huge supply of cards and board games.

Beautiful A-frame in the woods
We feel so lucky to have found this place! It was such a beautiful and relaxing home to come back to after hiking all day in Mount Rainier NP. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, the hot tub felt great, and the bed was comfortable. I would definitely recommend to anyone coming to the area and would love to stay again in the future!

Great Home for Mt Rainier
We had a great time visiting Mt. Rainier for the first time. This A-Frame was perfect for quick access to the Sunrise area of the park and reaching Paradise with a little longer drive. The house was well-equipped, so we had everything we needed. The hot tub was relaxing after a long day of hiking and greatly appreciated. Giles was helpful in offering suggestions for things to do in the area and answered questions quickly. Overall, an excellent experience and we highly recommend this house for anyone looking for access to Mt. Rainier National Park.

We loved our stay and enjoyed all the amenities the cabin had to offer!
Fair price and the host made concessions as per our early departure! Couldn’t ask for a better place to hang my hat for the week! Two thumbs up!

Family of four that loves to spend time in Nature - hiking, skiing and relaxing in the gorgeous natural playground that is the region around Mt. Rainier. There are hikes galore in this area, we'd be happy to give recommendations for fun day excursions - or you can spend days exploring the National Park. The wildflowers are stunning in the alpine meadows in the spring and a treat to spend time out of the city - we call this cabin "our happy place".

Why they chose this property

We love this area and the owner, an architect, has always loved A-frames. We lovingly updated this home with new floors throughout. Slate tile in the Living/Dining and Kitchen/Bath, in a custom pattern designed by the owner. New cork floors in the bedrooms. It is great to be a short drive from Seattle and yet you feel a world away here. Our girls love walking down to the nearby river to play.

What makes this property unique

It's really just fun being in an A-Frame space - the ceilings are sloped and the space dramatic. We had a lot of fun adding special lighting to each room. Our favorite are the hanging lanterns "floating" in the main A-Frame space and what we call the "Jellyfish" light - hand-made by an artist lighting friend of ours, that graces the Sleeping Loft. Especially in the twilight, these light fixtures glow and reflect on the big wall of glass, the reflections look like they are floating in the forest canopy... it is really a magical effect.
