This was perfect for us. The house is well cared for with a lot of effort put into the yard as well. This was our home base for exploring downtown Anchorage and we were able to walk anywhere we wanted to go. Would definitely stay here again.
The Downtown cottage was perfect for our 3 days. 2 nights in Anchorage. Check-in was easy and the host provided details before we arrived. The home had everything we could need. With 2 teenagers in our family of 4, everyone had their space. It was very conveniently located.
House was very clean and well stocked.
Location convenient to walking downtown. Small homeless population on nearby streets, but felt safe at cottage and no problems.
Would stay again
Thank you for sharing your beautiful cottage home. We enjoyed the all the amenities as if we were home. My son and daughter loved the upstairs area! The beds were very comfortable in all rooms. Everyone slept like logs. :)
Thank you for a wonderful stay. We’d definitely stay here again!
What a great stay in Anchorage. I was in for business and the location was easy. I walked downtown for dinner. Toni had everything I could need and more importantly let me know ahead of time, so I didn't need to pack items she was providing. The kitchen was stocked! The place is so cute and comfortable. The beds were amazing. Can't say enough good things.. I am coming back next year and will book this cottage.
Welcoming from the moment you unlock the door. Host has thought of every last detail to make your stay comfortable and warm. I cannot wait to bring my grandkids with me next trip to Anchorage so they can sleep in the adorably appointed kid friendly space! The backyard is a secret garden complete with a fire pit and a bundle of wood! Brilliant flowers abound even in late September. I walked daily to favorite restaurants, the Alaska Railroad Depot, and the Coastal Trail. I arrived first and had a few nights solo until my son arrived. We both LOVED this cozy cottage!!🌻
This was a conveniently located and spotless house. We could walk to all the downtown destinations, and there was a bus stop very close by. Over the years staying in Alaska I've gotten used to the standard of luxury being a bit lower than you'd expect elsewhere. This home was so clean, everything was in great condition, and it was modern and comfortable. She provided ample towels which is much appreciated with a family. There was body wash, conditioner, and shampoo in sanitary refillable containers. Toys for the kids. Fully stocked kitchen. My only comment is that the rooms could use some blackout curtains on top of the existing blinds and curtains.
Wow! We were blown away by how wonderful and charming this cottage really is in person. And the pictures do not do justice to the backyard. We stayed with 3 kids, 1 Elder, and 2 adults. The upstairs kid space was a welcome haven for kids on rainy days. Comfy beds, spotless rooms, and all kinds of extra touches- picnic supplies, cloth shopping bags, extra towels, kleenex, bdy wash/shampoo/conditioner, tonnes of chargers for electronics, keurig, full kitchen with spices and oils, actually enough rolls of toilet paper, laundry soap, etc. Etc.. Excellent downtown Anchorage location close to downtown shopping and restaurants. As an adsed bonus, Toni was able to accomodate an early check in for us, as our plane got in to town midday. We'll definetly be back!!
My family and I loved our stay at this beautiful home! The house was clean and organized, kitchen small but well-appointed. The fenced-in backyard was the real superstar - gorgeous plants all around, nice and quiet surroundings. My kids (5 and 8) also enjoyed the upstairs area just for them. The house is a bit of a walk from downtown but it was do-able if you like walking. There were also some homeless people in the neighborhood but they were never a problem. Overall a fantastic spot for our stay in Anchorage! Would stay again.
We loved staying at this house downtown with our family! It is so close to great restaurants and was the perfect place for our family to come back to after hiking and exploring the city to relax. The backyard feels like a secret garden with a beautiful green space filled with flowers and garden art and fenced in for privacy. There is a table/chairs to enjoy meals, a fire pit with chairs and a swing set/play area for kids. Inside of house was clean and had everything we needed.
Renting, finding, checking in was great. Close to downtown. A bit tight on space but well stocked with what seem to be recent updates/paint or else maintained very well. Only draw back was back yard was great but not private…apt complex sees straight into yard. Maybe some tall trees or a tall garage/covered porch to block and allow some privacy?
We absolutely loved this rental. It was just as pictured/described and so cozy and clean. I felt very comfortable there and my 3 kids loved the upstairs kids room/play area. The cottage is so close to everything which made going out in town with kids so much easier. The property manager was very friendly and always responded quickly. She helped me tremendously by informing me of several family friendly establishments and experiences nearby. We didn't have any issues during our stay and would 100% book it again if we return to Anchorage in the future. Thank you so much for making our stay wonderful.

The property is very well maintained. It is a short walk to downtown restaurants and trails. The pictures are very accurate, unlike other VRBO places I’ve stayed. The kitchen is small but well stocked with cooking utensils. We did a lot of cooking. Would definitely return.
We loved this house! Parts of it were quirky but it worked for us. Two bedrooms on main floor were comfortable and the whole house is decorated so cute. The upstairs bedroom has two twin beds be careful on the stairs as they are shallow steps and the ceiling is low at the top. I think all of us hit our head when we went up there. It is a great place for small children. The entrance to the shower is a little tight in the small bathroom but we managed fine. I was a little worried when people told us the area of town was near a bunch of homeless shelters. We didn’t have any issues, that said there were always four of us together. Uber was hit and miss because there were four of us. They seem to only have a few vehicles that can accommodate that many people. So we had to plan on longer wait times. On the map it seemed like all the food and shopping were quite a distance away but we walked all over downtown from the house and didn’t have any trouble. We dressed for the weather. We stayed here just before Christmas and I would definitely stay here again. The home and owner are simply lovely.
We stayed here to celebrate thanksgiving with our son. The house is comfortable and well furnished, and the kitchen was well stocked for cooking our big dinner. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the cafes etc in downtown which was great for us since we did not have a car. We used Uber and taxis to get groceries. We even enjoyed the backyard fire pit in the snow.
It was truly a great experience for it being my first time in Alaska. The scenery was great the manager was super helpful and had plenty of added things to make our stay extremely welcomed and comfortable. 10/10 would stay here again
Our stay was more than we hoped for! Perfect location to get to downtown Anchorage and all sorts of daytime excursions. The neighborhood is a bit industrial but the cottage is as family-friendly and inviting as it gets. So cute and comfortable for our family of 4. Highly recommend this stay.
Toni was great. A wealth of info if you need as well. Location super convenient and there are plenty of other places to walk or amble amongst the trees in Anchorage. The place is lovely and obviously cared for. Wonderful experience for me and teenaged son.
Very cute cottage. They made the most of all space available. Beautiful outdoor space and flowers everywhere. Only downside was 1 bathroom for 6 girls.

I moved to Alaska in 1987 from the midwest. Graduated college with a degree in Business Management from Alaska Pacific University with an emphasis in Hotel/Food Service Management and Tour and Travel. Before starting my own Event, Meeting and Destination Management Company, Logistics, LLC, 26 years ago, I had the pleasure to work for Hilton Anchorage for 5 years in sales and worked in the restaurant industry for many years. I have served on the Alaska Travel Industry Associations. Marketing Committee and Board of Directors and a past Board of Director for the Alaska Aviation Museum. For over 18, I have served as a Board of Director for Visit Anchorage and the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and very actively involve in the community of Anchorage. In addition to work and spending time with my daughter and four dogs, I enjoy camping, fishing, family and friends get togethers, exploring Alaska and gardening are some of my favorite pastimes.
Why they chose this property
I purchased this property 18 years ago and moved Logistics offices into this downtown house. It offered a great location in downtown, free parking for staff, historic home/work space that was a perfect fit for the team, worked well for office space, perfect backyard to bring my young daughter to work, etc. As the company grew, the office was moved to a warehouse location and a decision was made to remodel the home and turn it into a vacation rental to share this special space with guests visiting Alaska.
