About this property
Plaimor Paradise: Luxury Mid-Century Modern Resort
OVERVIEW
Plaimor Paradise is our premium, "private resort" which we share with nice people who love relaxing in the Desert and appreciate an artistic flair. This fully restored Mid-Century modern "Alexander" vacation home features a stunning pool, spa, outdoor fire pit, huge beautiful yard, mountain view and modern furnishings. Families are welcome. Located in Palm Springs' historic, midcentury Sunmor neighborhood, you'll feel like you have escaped to a private, "play-more" paradise. PS ID 3280.
THE SPACE
One of our recent guests summarized Plaimor Paradise perfectly, as a "private resort." What's more, our historic mid-century "Alexander" was designed by William Krisel, and was featured during 2018 Modernism week.
We furnished our vacation house with love, and we did it in a way that you will love too. Remember, WE stay here frequently, and insist on a first-rate experience for ourselves and our guests.
For starters, we have a beautiful salt water pool and spa. We also include a couple of pool floats. Then of course there is the fire pit, where you will probably hang out at far more than you imagined.
Perhaps the best part is the outside area with its stunning mountain views. Also, our beautifully landscaped lot is HUGE - at 17,000 sf it is far bigger and more spacious feeling than the standard 10,000 sf that almost all other comparable properties have. (Look closely at outdoor photos when you compare properties.)
The well lit, open floor plan, modern kitchen includes quartz countertops, a Keurig, coffee maker, garbage disposal, adjoining bar chairs and stainless steel appliances. It is extremely well equipped, with all the cooking utensils you need.
We furnished the house largely with Crate and Barrel midcentury modern furniture (NOT Costco) and relevant art. The mattresses are high-end Beauty Rest and very comfortable. We also included fun items like a bar cart, Princess phone, a 1958 replica Stratocaster guitar, Wii, family board games and kitsch items like a bulldog cookie jar and pig bookends. People tell us they love the polished concrete floors. Clock radios are fun and Bluetooth compatible. For entertainment, we went high-end with a Sony 55" 4K smart TV, Apple TV and a Sonos sound bar and subwoofer. We even included wifi connected 32" smart TVs in all 3 bedrooms.
Check out the photos and contact us to reserve your stay!
ACCESS
You have complete access to our private paradise, with the exception of the owner's closet and two on-property storage units. We will provide you a custom lock code for the house.
Because Plaimor Paradise is a house and not a hotel, our cleaning crew requires time to do the fantastic job they do. What's more, because the property is extremely popular, it often books back to back to back. Therefore, check in is at 3 pm, and check out is at 10 am. If you would like to request an early check in or late check out, let us know in advance and we will do what we can to help. Sometimes we can give you an extra hour without cost, or allow you to check in at 10 or check out at 3 for an extra $199. Please note, however, that during the busier seasons we oftentimes cannot accommodate these special requests.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
Welcome to Plaimor Paradise!
As we said above, we are willing to share our premium vacation house with nice people who will treat it as they would their own. I am sure you'd feel the same way too.
So, please help us by telling us a little about yourself and your guests, including ages, how many men and/or women, why you are coming to Palm Springs, day jobs, interests, etc. Note, we can only accept requests from people who provide us the information required by the City of Palm Springs. We are very transparent about our background and house, we would like our guests to do the same. Thanks in advance on that.
Also, a special note to spouses who are charged with finding the perfect family vacation getaway. I (Clara) totally understand! When I am looking for a vacation rental for our family, I work really hard to find the PERFECT place. We did everything possible to make this property live up to our own very high standards. Rest assured, you and your family will love it.
NOW TO THE BUSINESS PART..
The city of Palm Springs levies an 12.5% occupancy tax to all vacation rental stays for less than 28 days. Our maximum number of days is 30. Also, there is a $65 per night spa and pool heating fee (except June through September) that we will request separately, upon booking. Dogs, if accepted, require a one-time $100 extra cleaning reimbursement (each). We will also send you a (city required) rental agreement to confirm the booking, relevant city statutes, house rules and all the details.
Also, keep in mind our minimum stay is usually 6 days.
To confirm your reservation, you'll need to 1. Accept payment terms and dates, 2. . Provide proper identification and, 3. Approve the rental agreement.
We will make things easy for you by helping you through the process.

The place is absolutely lovely-- clean, spacious, well-appointed, and the outdoor space is fantastic as well. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to friends!
Amazing property with a gorgeous backyard/pool area. Sun all day with appropriate shade. We love airplanes, so it was a bonus to be able to see planes landing and taking off. We can practically walk to the Palm Springs Airport. Had a fabulous stay. Lots of fond memories made. Looking forward to our return next year!
We really enjoyed our time at Plaimor Paradise. It had lots of room, it was clean, well equipped, the pool was spectacular and communicating with the hosts was not a problem. We were a family of four and felt we had everything we needed. It is a great location, even though it is very close to the airport. We would definitely stay here again. 5 stars!!

Justin, thank you fir the kind review, we would love to host you and your family again in the future.
We were a family of five adults who enjoyed the pool, the spa, the firepit, and the large and very private yard. I must say that of all the homes we’ve stayed in, this had the most generous supply of everything you need to really settle in and relax: a nice supply of coffee, all kinds of paper goods like paper towels, tp, shopping and garbage bags, etc.I would also note that the communication between myself and the owners was pretty seamless, especially since our stay was over the New Year holiday. We enjoyed many good restaurants, the Hockney exhibit at the art museum, and simply eating, drinking and being merry at Plaimor Paeadise.

Thank you Dee for your fantastic review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for leaving the place so clean, an evacuee from the LA fires came in the night you left. We informed her the house had not been turned over and she didn’t care, just needed shelter. She said the house looked great. Thank you.
This house is amazing! It lived up to the pictures in the listing. Check-in was super easy and it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. There was a slight issue with the plumbing that was entirely out of the owners' control but their property manager responded within 5 minutes and the issue was resolved within a couple of hours. You can't always control what happens in a rental property but having owners' like this who are prompt and attentive is a major plus. We would love to rent this property again next time we are in Palm Springs!

Thanks so much for your review Ashley. We'd love to have you back anytime.
I don't even know where to start with reviewing this property...it was absolutely perfect! We travel quite a bit all over the world and this is one of the nicest places we've ever stayed. It's in a quiet and welcoming neighborhood and we enjoyed taking walks and looking at all the beautiful landscaping. The house itself has ample parking and is gorgeously decorated...we loved all the colorful Palm Springs decor and California feel in all the details. My husband and oldest son loved playing the electric guitar and I especially loved the colorful artwork. The beds/bedding were SO comfy! All appliances worked perfectly and we were happy to find a top notch coffee maker (and grinder!) and ice machine for crushed ice. We even cooked a few nights and used the grill in the backyard. Our favorite part though was obviously the yard with the pool, spa and fire pit. I can't describe the view, you have to see it yourself, it's beautiful. We did lots of hiking and visiting parks while on our trip however our favorite spot was sitting in the hottub watching the mountains, and at night the stars. My kids LOVED the pool and were in it every day multiple times. There are gorgeous lights in the pool/tub at night that even can change color if you'd like...they and the jets/heat for the spa are controlled by a remote. The landscaping in the yard was beautiful as well...every day we saw hummingbirds feeding at the bushes and we picked our own grapefruit to eat from the tree in the yard. The firepit was such a nice place to relax at the end of the day and the pretty solar lights bordering it made it even better. Every morning I'd take my coffee out to the backyard and just look at the mountains as the sun came up...absolute heaven. We ate outside on the patio table/chairs often and I appreciated the umbrellas by the pool loungers, it was nice to be able to get some shade in the hot midday.
We wondered if the location would bother us as it is so close to the airport but it was not an issue at all. The morning we left it was a nice change to not have to drive far at all to the airport..as sad as we were to leave!
Lastly, I just wanted to mention that communication with the owners was amazing. I had several questions prior to our trip and they were always very quick to respond. They even sent a message during our stay to make sure everything was going well. Very much appreciated.
The name is correct...this place really is paradise. I can't wait to go back!

Michelle, thank you for your highly detailed review. It makes us so happy! It was especially fun to read because you enjoyed and commented about many of the things we love about the place every time we stay. Guests like you are the reason we enjoy making our vacation home available to nice people.
While we have had dozens of happy guests share great reviews on that other leading vacation rental platform, you were our first on this one. Your review will surely help other people choose Plaimor Paradise.
You and your family were perfect guests and are invited back anytime.
We had a great stay at this property and found both the property manager and owners to be helpful and attentive during our stay. As an FYI there is no bath tub if you have kiddos and no grass for the dog (just small pebbles) BUT there are many parks nearby. The dog park down the street was closed but will hopefully reopen soon. The neighborhood is great to walk and the backyard is really well protected from wind. The pool was heated and stayed shaded most of the day. Thanks so much Clara for everything! I wouldn’t hesitate to come stay here again!

About the host
Hosted by Clara and Stewart Gandolf
Our first priority is our awesome family, including each other, our young adult daughters and our loyal (former Tijuana street) dog.
Stewart is CEO and Creative Director of an advertising agency (Healthcare Success, LLC) and Clara is "Director of Domestic Operations."
People often tell us we are a very "creative family." Stewart plays electric guitar (when he has time), Clara is a former graphic artist, one daughter is an aspiring animator and the other an experience design major.
We love to travel in many different forms, including Palm Springs, sunny beaches, national parks, other countries and once in a great while skiing.
We have music playing almost all the time, even at work. We have very varied tastes in food, music, movies and theater.
Why they chose this property
We have traveled to Palm Springs with our family since our girls were babies. Plaimor Paradise is a dream come true for us. We are happy to share our dream with nice people who will appreciate it and treat it as they would their own.
What makes this property unique
We fell in love with Plaimor Paradise because it is an authentic midcentury modern, with mountain views and a huge yard. We wanted room to build a modern pool, fire pit and spa worthy of the rest of the property. Finally, we love the Sunmor neighborhood.
