About this property

Gate Creek Cabins | Trap Line

Gate Creek Cabin’s original log cabin, built in the 1960s, it has been recently updated. Quaint, cozy, and romantic. The Trap Line is authentic, mildly rustic, but cozy–exactly what you would expect in an “Alaskan log cabin”. It has two bedrooms–one with a queen bed, and the other with a full bed. Features include a full kitchen, living area with TV/DVD and Blu-ray, and bathroom with shower. Full, partially covered deck with charcoal grill and picnic table offers views of Mt. McKinley (Denali if you are politically correct) and our small environmental lake. Perfect for two couples or a small family. 600+ sq. ft., sleeps 4 comfortably. This is a pet free cabin.

Relaxing stay for nature lovers

We loved our stay at the Trapline Cabin! A beautiful rustic cabin with friendly hosts and good views. We loved the lake on property and took advantage of trout fishing and using the canoe and paddle board. We also loved Oliver the friendly property dog. Easy check in process and would highly recommend.

Great cabin with it's own lake.

We loved this cabin but we were under the impression when searching VRBO that this cabin was closer to Talkeetna and Montana Creek. Both are approx. 20 min away but then again everything in Alaska is a drive. I would stay again if im driving through on the Parks Hwy. Thanks,

Beaver Hideaway

Quaint cabin by the lake. Watched eagles fly over the lake from deck. Clean, well equipped. Lacked internet service to TV so watched old dvd movies in evening. Very quiet at this location 10 miles from Hwy 3, 35 minutes to Talkeetna. Access to little lake in front of our cabin difficult. Easy trails to the lake or to the dock and a canoe on wish list for this place. Over all a good stay.

Cute, cozy, and comfortable cabin

We had a delightful stay in the Trap Line cabin. It's the best of both worlds: Just past the pavement, but with all the comforts of home (i.e. hot water pressure, wifi, separate bedroom and living room, etc.). We had everything we needed in the kitchen, whether cookware or condiments. The cabin was spotless which was especially impressive because it is on a dirt road. Susie was a great host, making sure we bought groceries. The cabins aren't near any restaurants. The location is ideal, though, because we were in the forest, but only 10 miles from the Parks Highway for a half day trip to Talkeetna or Denali National Park.

Incredible Hidden Gem / Amazing Getaway

My wife and I wanted to find a rental property for the long Labor Day weekend. We stumbled across this while searching in the Talkeetna area. It was the perfect secluded cabin we were looking for. It was exactly what we wanted. When we realized it was on the Petersville road, we brought the ATVs too and had a great day exploring after we checked out. If you are looking for a nice, quiet, secluded getaway, this is the place. We will definitely be returning and telling friends about this place! Thank you for a wonderful accommodation for our getaway weekend.

Beautiful peaceful well kept cabin

This is a beautiful property that is well kept with everything you need The lake with the canoes were put to use while we weren’t out seeing other sites. It’s about 40 min from downtown Talkeetna but close enough to do floats and air trips from there. There are a couple spots to get food and a grocery store not too far away. I recommend you bring food and grill at this great spot. The office has a handful of items too. A great half way spot between Anchorage and Denali. We would definitely return!
