About this property

Tri-River Retreat + Bunkhouse, only 5 min from downtown Talkeetna!

We are so happy to host you at this mountainside retreat. We have poured our hearts into creating this relaxing getaway. Only a few miles from downtown Talkeetna & just a 1/4 mile from the Talkeetna Lakes trail system. You will find miles of running, biking, and skiing trails. Nestled on over an acre, you have a ton of privacy to get away and relax.

Built in 2023, this cozy 700 sq ft cabin has top-of-the-line amenities like heated tile floors, a heated towel rack, bidet, back-lit mirror, an in-unit washer & dryer, a fully stocked kitchen, solid wood doors, and custom lighting.

This home is a year-round retreat with a spacious arctic entryway to hang up your skis and gear after hitting the trails. Outside you will find over 500 sq ft of south-facing deck to soak up the afternoon sunshine! Our custom home has a 6-foot overhang allowing you covered seating outside so you can get fresh air and stay dry no matter the weather. BBQ, Firepit, and yard games are all on-site.

There is plenty of space for your group to park and bring up ATV's or boats if you plan to recreate in the area. The third "bedroom" is a second smaller dry cabin on the property we call the bunkhouse. The bunkhouse has a much more rustic feel with a bunk bed, futon, wood stove, and small fridge.

**The main cabin comfortably sleeps up to 5 adults and the bunk house comfortably up to 4 adults - Max capacity for the entire property is 9 people.**

Please note this property is located in a residential neighborhood and parties are not allowed. Quiet hours are 10:00 pm to 8:00 am.

ATTENTION WINTER GUESTS - The bunk house's main heat source is a wood stove. There is a back up electrical space heater as well. If you are not comfortable operating a wood stove this may not be the best option for your stay.

Who said comfort and the outdoors don't mix?
This has by far been my family's favorite adventure in Alaska. We've been visiting cabins and campsites all over. From Homer, to Seward and Valdez and up to Fairbanks over the last three years. From the great hosts, the great location, and the great experiences, this Talkeetna cabin has it all. Luke and Liz are great hosts They are good communicators and made us feel welcome from booking until check out. They were quick to respond to any questions and continually reached out to make sure we had everything we needed for our adventure. The cabin boasts awesome upscale amenities, is close to tons of activities, downtown and restaurants. We had an absolute blast hiking, sledding, tubing and eating our way through Talkeetna. My kids really enjoyed the loft area, and after wearing themselves out playing all day they passed out no problem on the comfy bed and over sized fluffy bean bag chair. Our favorite memories included roasting marshmallows over the fire pit as the snow was falling and watching the kids play in the woods from the comfort of the open deck. My daughter, and wife, were also especially excited about the heated floors throughout. All in all a fantastic experience. We'll definitely be back.

Cute, Comfortable and Convenient
This place was even better than expected! We happened to visit on probably the coldest weekend of the year, but we were cozy inside with the in-floor heat. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked, including a hair dryer, laundry detergent, fresh local coffee, condiments and spices. The WiFi was good enough for both of us to be working and streaming Spotify all at once. The location was great, in a quiet neighborhood near the main trail system, but only a few minutes from “downtown” and a bit further out to the brewery. We would definitely like to stay there again, maybe with friends and family to take advantage of the loft and the guesthouse.

Quiet Talkeetna Retreat in a Well Built Cabin
The property is new and well maintained in a beautiful location. Between the spacious arctic entry and wide wrap around deck the cabin was built with an attention to detail uncommon in Talkeetna. The spacious cabin interior with large windows provided a cozy nook that we almost didn't want to leave. We did bring our skate skis and found the extremely close proximity to XY Lakes made motivating for a daily skiing delightfully easy. If you're looking to escape Anchorage or are visiting Talkeetna you couldn't pick a better spot, and my wife and I will most definitely be seeking this refuge again. A major thank to the host and cleaning staff that made this stay well worth the drive.

Winter wonderland!
This cabin was so cute and cozy! It has all the kitchenware needed to make a delicious meal after our fun skiing adventure. The ski trails are super close which made it easy to go out more than once each day. The water was nice and hot in the shower and the heated towel rack was a nice luxury to have. Communication with the host was super easy and she was very responsive. We plan on staying here again.

Modern build with classic Talkeetna feel
We were blown away by our stay at the Tri River Retreat! The location for us was perfect - we could venture downtown within a few minutes and within a mile the X Y trails have some of the best skiing, hiking, biking and ice skating in the area. All the activites we could ask for, and when we wanted to relax there was plenty of room with our family plus another: solo stove out back plus deck hangout, bunkhouse for the rambunctious kids or as adult reprieve. Clever interior decorations, modern amenities were a plus that let us relax and everything was quite comfortable, especially the radiant heat floors. We'll be coming back in the near future!
