My friends and I had an amazing time. The cottage is the perfect size for a group of four. It’s located right near town. We’re very grateful for the use of their beach chairs and all the information they provided us. Would recommend.
Great location. Since we were just visiting for the weekend we were able to walk to everything and never had to worry about parking. Outside area was very nice as well.
Beech Tree Cottage was perfectly positioned close to all amenities and restaurants. The cottage was perfect for a short stay, spacious living room and kitchen, spiral staircase was quite steep, but property’s listing did mention this, so no surprise. Great little cottage.
Dear Sheila,
Thank you for choosing Beech Tree Cottage for your stay in Sag Harbor. Since you seemed to be happy with the cottage in your comments - cute and clean - we would appreciate knowing if there was a specific reason you only gave it four stars. We are always interested in knowing how to improve the stay for future guests.
Best,
The Hamiltons
Beachtree cottage ended up being the perfect home base for our busy wedding weekend. The location was perfect, easily accessible to all our events and also close to town/ restaurants to enjoy Sag Harbor. The cottage itself was so charming and cozy! Our big complaint was not having 1 more day.

Adorable cottage in a great location !
Loved the town of Sag Harbor. Beech Tree Cottage was perfect for our family of four and within walking distance of downtown, marina and all the great restaurants. Beech tree cottage sits in a quiet neighborhood and has plenty of privacy. The cottage is well equipped and nicely decorated. Emma and Stephen are available if you should need anything, but give you complete privacy.
We saw so much in our short stay. Very happy with the location to see everything from Montauk to Southampton, North Fork and Shelter Island. Car ferries work great. Bring cash as they are cash only. Wolffer Vineyard was a beautiful place. Loved Tutto & Barons Cove deck for dinner. Excellent fish dishes !! Will be returning!
Some small matters like we had to ask for wash rags, no soap in the bathroom, nor hand soap in the kitchen, & the skillet was not usable. BUT, main problem is that if you're a male over 60 & have a large prostate & need to go to the bathroom during the night it's a problem. There is NO bathroom on the 2nd floor where the bedrooms are so you have to go down a precarious spiral stairway to relieve. That is the principal problem & why we won't be going back. Nice people though.

The cottage is now set up with individual shampoo, conditioner and soap dispensers in the shower. There is also a basket in the bathroom containing additional amenities such as toothpaste, toothbrushes and deodorant. Wash rags have always been provided, along with hand towels and bath towels. The skillet in question was damaged by a prior tenant and has been replaced.
The bedrooms are indeed accessible by spiral staircase and the bathroom is located downstairs. This is clearly noted in at least three different places on our listing and is also visible in the photographs. We also state clearly in our listing that as such the cottage may be unsuitable for anyone elderly, infirm, or with small children.
Wonderful cottage a short walk from downtown Sag Harbor
We had an amazing stay in the cottage. Wonderful location which is super close to downtown Sag Harbor. The neighborhood was lovely, quiet, and walkable. Nothing like waking up in the morning and strolling into town for breakfast and the local farmer's market. The cottage was clean, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for our stay. Thank you to our gracious hosts. We would 100% recommend.
We enjoyed a week in this quiet and cozy cottage. Very close to town and very comfortable beds, linens, towels. Owners were very helpful and accommodating.
3 girlfriends and I stayed at the cottage for the first two weeks of July. It was super cute, clean, and looked exactly like the pictures. Location was fabulous and Emma was so helpful and kind! Would love to return.
This property was absolutely amazing!! The pictures reflected the cottage perfectly. The cottage feels secluded and is extremely peaceful. Would DEFINITELY go back. Thanks for the memories!!
We had the BEST time visiting the Beach Tree cottage. It was so clean and well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. On the rainy weekend it was a perfect place to snuggle up with a warm cup of tea with friends. Would highly recommend for anyone!
Beech Tree Cottage, tucked into the corner of quiet but architecturally historic and beautiful Glover Street, is the perfect whisper to the exclamation point that can sometimes be the Hamptons. The cottage is the perfect strolling distance to town and drive to beach. Close enough to the water to feel her salty breath. I only wish we had more time to tuck into her, indulge in the silence and stillness, pull out one of the many books on her shelves and dream...

Memorial Day Stay
We had such a nice long weekend at the cottage. Very clean and well equipped with everything we needed for my wife and I and our two young sons. The walk to town made everything so easy to access, not to mention the beautiful views along the water on the way. Sag is much an ideal location for spending time in the Hamptons. Would definitely recommend. Stephen and Emma were lovely guest and made sure we had everything we needed while giving us complete privacy during our stay. Thumbs up!

Quiet, comfortable, convenient beach spot
We had a fantastic stay at the cottage. The place was clean and comfortable. No surprises and it was incredibly convenient -- perfect for cooking casual dinners, walking into town, and heading to the beach for a week. The owners were responsive with booking, check-in, etc., but totally unintrusive -- although the cottage is behind their home, it has its own entrance and driveway and feels plenty secluded. All in all loved our stay!

About the host
Hosted by Steve & Emma Hamilton
We are a married couple, and ex-pat New Yorkers. We have been living in Sag Harbor for over 30 years, and raised our two (now adult) kids here. We feel very fortunate to live in this beautiful corner of the world, and are pleased to be able to share it with you.
Why they chose this property
We have owned this home for over 25 years. The neighborhood is beautiful, quiet, historic, and easy walking distance to town. We are a stone's throw from the bay on all sides - you walk along the harbor to get to town and if you go in the other direction, it's a lovely 20 minute walk around the Redwood peninsula.
What makes this property unique
The cottage is cosy and quaint - it's very nondescript from the outside, but inside it is charmingly decorated in Sag Harbor nautical style. It's totally private and fully self-catering. Best of all, it is a 1/2 mile easy walk to town.
