Relax and see the sunrises and loons from your private large deck and dock right on the shore of one of the top three cleanest lakes in New Hampshire. Pleasant Lake is a 479-acre spring-fed lake great for swimming, fishing and boating. It's amazing venturing out in the rowboat, canoe, paddle boat or kayaks (all included), or even just sitting on the dock or deck and getting mesmerized by the sunlight dancing on the clear lake waters.

Our clean and tidy lakefront vacation home has an over 1300 sq. ft. open floor plan with cozy knotty pine walls and new windows on all 4 sides of the house allowing for stunning, panoramic views and plenty of fresh New Hampshire air.

Inside, there are 2 large bedrooms, each with a comfy king size bed and an additional single bed. The dining room overlooks the lake and has a pass through to the equipped kitchen. The spacious, open living room has relaxing seating and even a wooden bar area. There is fast wifi, a work desk with surge protector, a flat screen TV with Roku and a DVD player, as well as a selection of family DVDs, cards and board games. We also include sanitized cotton linens and plenty of indoor and outdoor towels for your stay.

Outside, you are right smack on the lake! There's a large deck with gas grill, picnic table with sun umbrella, lounge chairs and more. Step down off the deck onto your own private dock and enjoy the stunning scenery. There's also a swim platform, 2 kayaks, a rowboat, a commercial quality 4-person Paddle King pontoon pedal boat, tube floats and other lake toys for you to use if you'd like to, as well as a full assortment of life vests available in sizes from infant to XXL, all included. Outside the front of the house is a brick patio with lake and woods views and a stone fire pit. Our private road is paved and the property is beautifully landscaped.

Locally, there are restaurants and shopping within 10-20 minutes. If you want to venture out from your cottage at the lake in Deerfield, you'll be within striking distance of many New Hampshire attractions: 15 minutes to Antique Alley in Northwood or to the Deerfield Fairgrounds, 20 minutes to either Bear Brook State Park or Pawtuckaway State Park, 20 minutes to Concord, 25 minutes to Manchester, 45 minutes to Portsmouth or Hampton Beach on the NH coast, 1 hour to the start of White Mountain National Forest (home of Mount Washington the highest peak east of the Mississippi). Enjoy "leaf peeping" on the famous Kancamagus Highway about 90 minutes away. Boston, Mass. is about 1.5 hours away.

Our stay at this property was amazing. Will and Kathy were tremendous hosts and prepared this beautiful water front cabin with everything we needed. The lake is beautiful and clean and the ability to use the paddleboat was so great to get out on the water and enjoy some calm, refreshing moments.We so appreciated our hosts checking on us to ensure we had all we needed and even offered multiple times to take us out on their personal pontoon. They showed great care for our family needs during our stay. The cabin was clean, cozy and open. It truly felt like a home away from home for our family to enjoy and create memories!We will definitely be keeping this place on the map to ensure when we return to the area we try to stay here!

Our goal was to find a quiet little lake house with watercraft to enjoy on the lake. This was exactly that! The quiet serenity of Pleasant Lake in the late summer is wonderful. The calls of the loons and the early morning fog on the lake is serene and magical. The home feels like you are stepping back in time, away from the hustle and bustle of life. It truly gives you a chance to unwind and relax. The house had everything we could possibly need and the location is not far from the grocery store if you want to load up on groceries and never leave the house. The bed was very comfortable and we got great sleep. We did venture out several times to explore the area, taking drives to Lake Winnipesaukee, Merrymeeting Lake and Portsmouth. New Hampshire is such a beautiful state. Hosts Kathy and Will live in the beautiful home next-door. They are super friendly and happy to take you out on their pontoon boat when they cruise the lake, which is a few times a day. They are very knowledgeable about the lake and very involved in its community. They are very quiet neighbors, yet available by text if you could possibly need anything.If you are looking to get away for a quiet, relaxing vacation, I highly recommend this clean and very comfortable location.

Look no further if you're planning a beautiful New Hampshire vacation! Kathy and Will, your hosts, have just what you're looking for! Their spacious cottage on the water's edge has all the high-end amenities you'll ever need, including a full-size refrigerator with ice maker; comfortable bedding with additional blankets for cooler weather; plenty of thick, white bath towels and even beach towels; use of paddle boat, row boat, etc. And the washer/dryer was so convenient. Our stay was at the end of September 2021 and at day's end we enjoyed a glass of wine in front of the fireplace! If your stay is during the summer . . . take the wine out on the deck and enjoy the Lake! It's almost a full guarantee of summer/fall pleasure . . . . Martha M.

Very nice cottage!

This is a spacious cottage with all the comforts of home. Plenty of towels were provided, along with paper towels, TP and napkins. We enjoyed having meals on the large deck overlooking the lake. Also made good use of the kayaks and paddle boat. The owners live next door and were available if needed but certainly respected our privacy. Highly recommend this cottage!

A Wonderful Vacation on Pleasant Lake!

We just returned from our Pleasant Lake trip and this property is 5 stars all the way! Kathy and Will are the most accommodating hosts. They go above and beyond to make sure your stay is the best it can possibly be! They also offer boat rides around the lake which is an added bonus! The property is the cleanest of any place we ever rented and their attention to detail from labeled light switches, snacks & drinks, hotel-like bedding and towels, a fully stocked kitchen, and decorative touches makes this a standout property for renters. We already made reservations for next summer we enjoyed it so much! And, I don't want to forget their dog Jackson who just loves boat rides and people! First Guests of the season

As the first guests of the season, we were thrilled to arrive at such a beautiful cottage. We were drawn in with the drive down the driveway with a view of the lake and the charming loons nest. Kathy was there to greet us and help us set up-- she was so friendly and helpful. The weather was picture perfect so we were able to test out all of the water activities. The cottage was pristine and though the kitchen is fully outfitted with every gadget, we chose to take advantage of the bbq. We dined outside for every meal, taking full advantage of the sunlight. Daily pontoon rides with Kathy and Will gave us a wonderful opportunity to get to know our hosts and learn about the area. Rise early to see the amazing sunrises over the lake--it's a picture you'll never forget. We were sad our schedule did not allow us to extend our stay--we would have in a heart beat. We highly recommend this cottage and are already looking at our 2022 calendar to ensure we get a booking for next year!

A true hidden gem!!

I wish I could give this rental 10 stars...it was that great!! I've stayed in many VRBO properties and this, by far, was the best. The house is just as it is listed and the pictures are accurate. For me and my family what made our vacation here so special were the hosts Kathy and Will. They go out of their way to be sure that you have the best vacation possible. We went on daily pontoon rides, had a refrigerater filled with drinks, snacks available that my husband enjoyed (even though Jackson, their dog, thought they were treats for him), got to enjoy "Deerfield Fair" snacks baked by Kathy too. Everything you need is here at the house. When we come back in July I now know all I need is my clothes and a toothbrush. Thank you so much Kathy and Will for a much needed Covid break.

Peace and fun

Pleasant Lake Is Much More Than Pleasant!

First impression: pristine, spotless, astonishing. The grounds are immaculately landscaped. Every amenity you can think of. Pack your clothes and toiletries and go! Overhead fans in both bedrooms, kitchen entry, and living room, work well to cool off inside. Bedrooms: comfortable king beds with matching sheets, light blanket, heavy quilt. Small down quilt to calm and cover you while napping. Bathroom is stunning. White textured plaster walls, tiled floor, extremely large wall mirror over white double vanity w/ drawers. Shower has rainfall/waterfall shower head. So relaxing! Oversized white bath towels, and hand towels, wash clothes, shower mats, and vanity area rug, all in sage. If you cook, bake, or just like to eat, the kitchen is your place! There is every implement, cooking tool, appliance, gadget you could ever imagine (some you might not have even seen before!). Beautiful chinaware and glassware of every type. Silverware aplenty. The dining area windows offer a wide view of lake activity right off the deck and the office nook is a nice touch. The spacious living room has comfortable seating for everyone and a very cute bar area. There is a wide selection of children's and adult board games, and other toys, as well as a selection of DVDs for use. If you are sun-shy like me, the deck offers a tarped, sunken end area where you can hang out and still enjoy the long frontage lake views and activity. The outdoor "toy box" contains noodles, boogie boards, etc., and there are two huge mesh-bottomed tubes available for use. Your private dock has a rowboat and a paddle boat; there are also a canoe and kayaks for enjoyment. Kathy and Will are the most accommodating hosts you will ever find. They will do most anything to make sure your vacation is pleasant and memorable. Their goal is for you to ENJOY yourselves. Ask them if you need anything and, if they can, they will be happy to help. Amazing cottage!

This was one of the best house rentals we’ve experienced!!  First of all, it’s EXTREMELY clean and everything on the inside and outside is so well maintained.  The lake is literally right on your porch and is absolutely stunning and also sooooo clean!!  It’s so great to have all the amenities right there.  We used the kayaks and all the boats everyday.  Kathy and Will are also great hosts!!  Kathy makes sure we had everything we needed and we felt right at home the second we stepped in the door.  Kathy and Will also offer boat cruises frequently around the lake on their pontoon boat which was lovely!!  Highly, highly recommend staying here, we will definitely be back!!!

Perfect Family Trip!

We just returned home from our stay and we’re already missing this fabulous cottage, beautiful lake view and friendly owners. The cottage was spotless, had everything we needed for meal prepping, all switches were labeled (which is such a thoughtful touch), games, movies, books and so much more! We took full advantage of the kayaks, floats and row boat. We thoroughly enjoyed the lake tours with Kathy, Will and Jackson! We’re first time VRBO renters and couldn’t be happier with our experience. You can tell how much Kathy and Will care about their renters vacation experience. We also had never heard of Pleasant Lake, but we are extremely impressed with how quiet and clean the lake was. We will be back, that’s for sure!

An absolutely perfect trip!

We had a truly perfect trip when we stayed at the Loons Nest and can not recommend it enough! Kathy was such an amazing host and provided everything we needed-- showing us around the space, having drinks and snacks ready when we arrived, even saving the day with candles and decorations for a last minute birthday celebration! The house is so lovely, with a beautiful view of the lake, and all the water toys we could've wanted. Kathy and Will were so warm and welcoming, even inviting us out on their boat which was such a treat. The whole trip was absolutely perfect, and I know everyone in our group is already looking forward to our next visit!

Perfect Family Vacation!

This property was a little slice of heaven. The lake is beautiful and the water is so clean! The cabin felt like home. Kathy has thought of EVERYTHING you might need to have a perfect vacation- from snacks and drinks on arrival, to labelled light switches, a kitchen that had everything we needed for meal prep, fishing poles, rafts, kayaks, life preservers and soft fluffy towels. We left only to restock the kids night crawler supply. They boys caught LOTS of fish! We saw loons, turtles, and ducks and we enjoyed lake tours with Kathy and Will. We’ve had many VRBO/AirBNB stays- this was the family’s favorite. We can’t wait to come back!

Fantastic cottage, beautiful lake, great owners!

All the good things you read in these reviews are true! One of the best cottages we've rented - nicely decorated, great amenities, friendly owners and a beautiful lake. Kathy provides all the basic supplies you need plus many treats you don't expect. A warm and inviting place to relax and unwind, with no annoying stuff like spiders and dirt that others call "rustic". The cottage and everything in it is spotless. One of the big advantages of being there in September was being able to share in the bounty of delicious little peaches from their one prolific tree - yummy! There are so many thoughtful touches - books, games, snacks, lake toys, boats - anything you might need. Any kitchen equipment you'd ever want, good wifi, easy access to outlets for phone charging. There's a little country market nearby, a couple of good restaurants and an easy drive to Concord if you need stuff there. We especially enjoyed trips around the lake on Kathy and Will's pontoon boat - very cool to see the other cottages and learn more about the lake. We saw several bald eagles, a pair of cormorants and, of course, loons. We're going to be recommending Loons Nest to a lot of friends, so you'd better make your reservation now!

Where do I even begin ? I'm not in the habit of posting a review because when I get home from a vacation , life and reality takes over and I simply forget but not this time because this rental was perfect in so many ways . Beds , very comfortable. Bedding , clean and cozy. Kitchen , well stocked and spotless and you will not need to bring anything but food if you choose to cook. Bathroom, perfect with soft thick towels. Livingroom, so inviting and comfortable. The deck. Huge and so comfortable. The views , breathtaking with crystal clear water . It was so awesome to be able to use the two kayaks and rowboat the rental provides as well as the swim out platforms. I can not stress enough on how clean this rental is as well as how inviting the house , lake and grounds are . You will fall in love and relax as soon as you drive on to the grounds . I saved the best for last....the owners ! This was the very first time I rented a place where the owners live on the property. Please consider yourself very lucky because Kathy and will are the nicest people you will ever meet and I promise you , you will want to steal there beautiful little fur baby dog Jackson. Again I will use the word inviting to describe them . They will respect your privacy but are always there to help and answer questions. From the snacks , candy and cold drinks that are waiting for you when you arrive, to the pontoon boat ride they may offer you because they want to share their beautiful lake with, this rental and these owners are truly amazing . We definitely will return .

Quintessential NH Lakeside Getaway

This is a lovely spot! Kathy is an exceptional hostess and very communicative. The property is quaint, clean, and amply supplied with everything needed for indoor and outdoor. The spot is overall a quiet location, but close to nearby attractions. You could stay at the house for an entire week, though, and never need to leave. We would definitely stay here again without hesitation!

Cozy and comfortabe

I highly recommend this property. The owners were exceptional: very responsive and willing to do whatever it takes to ensure that renters have a great experience. The property was exactly what I'd hoped for. The lake was crystal clear and the good-sized deck overlooking the water was the perfect place to relaxand enjoy the view. I'll definitely be back!

Why they chose this property

When we decided to move to New Hampshire, we looked at all different types of properties around the state for over a year. We really like the changing seasons up here, with each time of year having it's own unique character. We fell in love with the Pleasant Lake area and waited for just the right opportunity to live on the lakefront.

What makes this property unique

There is nothing more relaxing than being right on the water, and Pleasant Lake is one of the cleanest lakes in New Hampshire. It's big enough to have all the lake fun you can imagine, but small enough that it doesn't get an undue amount of traffic. We have great fishing, boating, swimming, kayaking and an assortment of cool wildlife: bald and golden eagles, loons, ducks and more. It's a special place.

Deerfield itself has no malls and very few stores of any kind. It is known for being noncommercial. The biggest claim to fame is the once yearly Deerfield Fair. We like that it's a quiet rural area, but within easy driving distance of whatever you might want or need.
