This is our second year staying here! Love it here! So much to do for everyone. Plenty, plenty of space. The game room downstairs is a plus for all ages. Andrea is a very responsive host ensuring our arrival went smoothly and checked in throughout the weekend to be sure that our needs were met. We will be back next year!

Thanks for coming, again!!! So glad you had another good year! Looking forward to hosting you again!!!
We really enjoyed our stay and had a great time fishing, playing games, and going to on day trips. Check in and out was really easy and Andrea was always available for questions.
We loved staying in this house on Otisco lake. It was perfect for our family of 4 couples and children. Plenty of space to gather and have quiet space. The house had everything we needed from the kitchen to toys in the yard. We think we might have to do this every year!

Thanks for coming, please reach out, if we can host you again:)
The Lakehouse was a perfect place for our family of 3 generations to come together for a college graduation. The house was so fresh, clean and inviting. Our doggie came too and was greeted with a basket of toys. The owner is always available for questions and is so helpful.

It's a great opening weekend for us.

Thank you for your visit, keep in touch, we would love to have you back!
We stayed at the same location in 2924 and really enjoyed everything about it. This was our second stay and there were new improvements to make our stay even more enjoyable. I don't think there is anything this house is without. It is extremely well equipped and this year they even added a shower chair because there is a physically handicapped individual in our group. Communication is always excellent and continued that way this year as well. Andrea (our contact) did everything in her power to be accommodating and helpful. We love this place and our hosts.

Thanks for coming again! We enjoyed having you and are looking forward to another visit!
Wish the weather was better for you but it didn’t seem to stop you from confirming once again there are fish in the lake:)
We rented this property for our wedding in Skaneateles and could not be more thrilled with it. The place was extremely clean, well stocked and beautiful, as well as large enough for us to host our rehearsal dinner. Andrea was incredibly attentive and helpful before, during and after our stay, and was incredibly accommodating with anything we needed. The area is beautiful and close to Skaneateles, so it’s really easy to grab a bite from town or go shopping.
We’ll be looking for an excuse to rent here again sometime soon!

So glad we could help in your celebration! It makes us so happy to 'take part' in making things just right! We look forward to having you back. You were great guests!
The listing doesn't even begin to show how big and beautiful this property is! We had 9 adults and 2 young children, and there was plenty of space for everyone spread out and relax, or for us all to sit down and eat together. The dock and lake access is amazing. Andrea was an amazing host who checked on us often to make sure we were comfortable and had everything that we needed. Will be booking this place again!!
Roomy and comfortable summer home in a quiet friendly neighbor. The on-line pictures and description are accurate. What it doesn't show you is how comfortable the beds are, how relaxing and fun the outdoor spaces are (deck and enclosed porch) nor how well stocked it is with anything you could need. And a bonus is working with Andrea who is very friendly, accommodating. and gracious. This was such a great rental and rental experience. We'd love to come back.

Thank you Larry for the kind words. It was a pleasure having you visit and confirm there are nice fish to be found in Otisco Lake:) We would welcome another visit from you and you band of merry fisherman:)
Three of us friends got together for a 3 day weekend and enjoy the beautiful fall time on Otis co Lake. This beautiful set up home was the perfect getaway. The views of the water were breathtaking and the home offered everything a lake home would. Kayaks, game room with a pool table, foosball, ping pong, darts, air hockey etc etc. the two Fireplaces made the stay comfy and cozy. There was plenty of wood available. The amenities well appointed and we had everything we needed. Host, Andrea was incredibly responsive, friendly, helpful and accommodating. Would definitely come back and recommend it to everyone.

Thank you for coming, glad you appreciated the house, view, and hospitality. Visitors like you, make it enjoyable for us as well. Come again!
The pictures don't do the QW justice. What an absolutely beautiful property overlooking the lake. 11 of my friends and I have taken a weekend vacation to the finger lakes every year for the last five years and this one was equally as special. There is so much space at the QW with so much to do. Got the long patio by the dock, pool, cornhole, and a beer pong table in the basement, kayaks, a paddle boat, fishing, etc.
We even had a proposal at the house this year! Our good friends who have dated for five years got engaged on the water!
Thanks for an amazing weekend!
As soon as we walked into the enclosed porch and large main living area and saw nothing but the lake, we knew we had made the right decision in renting this property. The place has the classic cabin feel with many personal touches you don't find in most rentals. We were able to enjoy the lake activities with the grandchildren using the kayaks, the greatgrandchildren wading in the lake and the adult relaxing lakeside using supplied chairs and lounge chairs and umbrellas. We appreciated the opportunity to bring in the local family and guests so all could enjoy this place. Even when the weather prevented going out on the lake one day, everyone found something to do: board games, pool table, dart board, big screen tv to watch Eurocup soccer, corn hole and more. Our next family gathering in the Syracuse area will definitely include the Quick Getaway.

Disappointing stay
We booked this property for a lakeside stay while dropping my son at college at Syracuse University. We were looking forward to exploring the area and enjoying lake activities with the children in our group. Andrea, the owner was communicative ahead of our stay offering to provide restaurant suggestions or answer any questions we had. Unfortunately when we arrived, we were met with a lakeside filled with algae that made use of the lake in any form (swimming, paddle boat etc) impossible. We contacted the owner who said no cleaning services for the lakeside were available and indicated it was an ongoing problem at the house and in the area. We tried to clear out at least an area to access the water but it was a losing battle. When we responded with a lengthy email asking why we had not been informed the lake was unusable before our arrival or at any time during the booking process, andrea did not respond. We felt it was misleading to not mention the algae problem since it was not a one time issue but an ongoing problem. Overall the house has some positives- a nice screened porch, lovely view and nice outdoor fire pit. However, the upstairs is extremely cramped and poorly built (the beds old and severely sagging with uneven sloping floors). We ended up leaving a day early bc without use of the water there wasn’t much to do. For the high summer rate we paid for a ‘lakefront property’ that we couldn’t use, this stay, and the owners lack of concern, was disappointing.

Deborah,
We are so sorry the lake didn’t meet to your expectations. Unfortunately, that is in the hands of mother nature, which although we would like to control her, she is much stronger than any of us. Lake living is not for everyone, and we understand that. If we had a pool, most definitely we could have called someone to help clear it up, but a lake cleaner is something we just don’t have a line to or even know if that’s available for on call situations. It will be something to investigate in the future.
As for not answering your text, there was no answer to give, your text was informing us of your thoughts and suggestions, which we will consider for future visitors. We try to ask a lot of questions so that if something comes to mind, we can clear things prior to your stays.
It’s hard to determine one personals tolerance vs another person’s tolerance of lake living. Our rustic classic camp, as advertised in its definition, simple and often rough, unique, was built in the 1940’s. Yes, some of the flooring is skewed and the rooms will be smaller than the norm from today’s new builds.
As for the beds, those are all new and gently used within the last 4 years.
The fact that it rained two out of the 4 days of your stay I am sure was also a disappointment. From our perspective that can put a damper on a lake stay for sure and I am always hoping for good weather for our visitors.
We are sorry you couldn’t find something else to do during your stay bc we have worked so hard to make sure there are other activities available within the property, such as wifi, all types of games/cards, new smart tv’s, pool table, darts, foosball, ping pong, golf game, cornhole, and a bunch of other yard games at a guest’s access.
We respect your perspective and hope your next stay at a VRBO property is more of what you are looking for.
Host was always available. Plenty of room inside and outside. Make sure to read the story of QW. Owners have done many improvement in a short period of time.
Had a fabulous week at the QW! Weather didn't necessarily cooperate, but the QW had spaces to enjoy the outside in the rain, inside when it was windy, and games to play all day and night! Very flexible space for whatever was needed. Many places to dine, drink, and explore in the local area. Andrea was the perfect hostess! Friendly neighbors as well!
This home had a beautiful view of a Otisco lake and access to the lake. The home had everything you could possibly think of. Both the adults and kids had so much fun with all the games both indoor and outdoor. We can’t wait to go back next year.
Great location to spend time with the family and enjoy the outdoors. We booked this during Syracuse graduation so all family could be together and celebrate our graduate. Really enjoyed our time there.

About the host
Hosted by Andrea K Quick
The Quick Getaway (formally The QW) was est. June 2018 between 2 families that wanted to invest in a lake house that could be shared by all and was close to our regular homes. All while having that away from home rustic camp/ cottage feel. The Quick's and Wirth's have been friends for over 30 years. The Wirth's have decided to head towards retirement so the Quicks took over the lake house to keep the theme of the place running.

It's a gathering place for fresh air and fun! You don't need the modern flair, you'll appreciate the antique comforts and charm it holds. Its clean and has one of everything you might need to be as comfortable as possible.
