2 Bedroom Garden View Condo- Pono Kai

The resort is located in the historic town of Kapaa, Kauai. You can catch the sunrise in the morning over the Pacific Ocean or even see whales during migrating season. The resort is within walking distance of restaurants, boutiques, shopping and grocery stores.

You can rent bicycles within walking distance and we are located within 5 minutes from water activities; canoeing, kayaking, surfing, etc...

Our 2 Bedroom Garden View condo has a fully equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The first bedroom has a King size bed and the second bedroom has a Queen size bed. There is also a pull out sleeper sofa in the living room. They are very spacious units. The units are fully stocked with linens, towels, and all kitchen utilities and appliances. We manage several condos at Pono Kai and guarantee unit size and view, not specific building or floor.

Stayed in the G-Building with incredible views of the Ocean. Right out the backdoor there was an amazing bike trail and lots of places to shop and eat a very short walk away. Apartment had everything I needed to cook myself. Air conditioning was nice after a day out in the sun and they also had a nice little fitness center so I was able to keep up with my workout routine. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Ideal location

Clean and convenient property

The property is very clean and nicely maintained. The staffs are very friendly and responsive. The apartment is pretty big for a family of 4 and has all the amenities for a family. The location is also convenient to other part of the island and easy to walk to restaurants. Good value for family.

Nice resort condo with an ocean view.

Bedrooms were comfortable with air conditioning. Resort has convenient BBQ s throughout the complex which we used. Pool and spa were nice. We enjoyed morning walks on a 2+ mile trail adjacent to the beach. Parking was plentiful and each building has an elevator. We enjoyed our week at the Pono Kai.

Perfect place

Loved Pono Kai condo! It had everything we needed and more. Location was good! Walking distance to variety of places to eat. Walking sidewalk that goes for miles along the ocean. We had a rented car and the condo was located in area easy to find all. We played croquet several times. Pretty pool area. Beautiful landscaping all around. It’s a keeper!.

Favorite location

Pono Kai is my preferred place to stay…it’s convenient to everything. This was likely a timeshare, as the furnishings were identical to many others. The beds were very comfortable, but the living room furniture wasn’t. The couch was especially difficult to get comfortable on…not any better as a bed, I’d guess, but we didn’t try that. All in all, it worked for us. Liked having the ocean view…so much nicer than anything. Well, other than ocean view! Mahalo!

Great Location, check-in issues, loss of personal property

We used VRBO to book and somehow my name didn’t show up on their system. This resulted in troubles checking in on a Saturday night. We were put in a temporary room so that our issue could be sorted out the next day. When we moved to our booked room the next day, my little one forgot her Bluetooth speaker in the first room. We were never able to recover the speaker. Either the next guest took it, our housekeeping took it.

Position Plus

Pono Kai offered everything we were looking for in a holiday destination. Clean and comfortable; beside the beach; on the edge of town. Complex facilities included pool, BBQs, laundry, equipment hire, lawn games. It is a short, flat walk to shops and restaurants. Excellent value for money.

Nice Spot

We stayed here with friends for 3 days. The property is in an excellent location for walking to restaurants and shops. The gardens are lovely. Plus the beach is right outside your door! While the property is well maintained, it does need some updating. Outdated bedspreads should not be used. Furniture and drapery is outdated and I don’t like carpet in an area with sand. But we had a great time!

Once we were able to get rid of the overpowering sickly sweet smell of peppermint that assaulted us when we opened the door to our unit we were able to very much enjoy this condo. Lose the peppermint, or tone it down. The rest of it was all good, nice location, nice staff, rate is a tad high but still manageable. Overall I am happy with our stay.

The property is beautiful and well maintained. The check in process was seamless and our room was great, big and spacious. Some suggestions for improvement: - have some spices etc in cupboards - have some foil and plastic wrap in drawers that can be used for BBQ and storing food in fridge - no need for lounge chair on second floor balcony, takes up a lot of room...would recommend that for ground floors only - maybe a bigger table on balcony for morning breakfasts and coffee! We loved our stay here! Although lots of great eating options in Kapa’a, we grilled out two nights since grocery stores were nearby and gas grills were just outside the unit . The only downside is that the queen size bed was bouncy/not firm enough, making it uncomfortable for two people.

Very convenient and clean.

We had a great time! The property is clean and well-stocked. The upstairs neighbors our last day were oh so noisy, but that’s no fault of the property itself. If you’re looking for a clean, convenient location, Pono Kai is wonderful.
