"Northern Nest" cottage right on Long Pond has a lot to offer. Tucked between tall white oaks and deep blue water, this house is only a brief boat ride down the lake from Acadia National Park. It is close to Bar Harbor and many park attractions, but you'll understand why this part of Mount Desert Island is referred to as "The Quiet Side." Our home is perfect for families or groups who want a modern, relaxing refuge close to nature. We can't wait for you to make it your home, too.

Lovely Long Pond Retreat

We had a lovely time with family in Katherine's cottage on Long Pond. This spotless and attractive cottage is well outfitted for a relaxing time in Acadia - the beds are comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed and the dock on the lake made for easy kayaking and relaxing happy hours at the end of the day. We highly recommend!

Best part of our vacation

My family loved this beautiful house on the lake. It’s location is perfect, a short drive to all the Acadia attractions yet away from the crowds in the park. We really enjoyed having meals on the deck overlooking the water, as well as swimming, kayaking and visiting with the ducks from our own private dock. We rented kayaks for the week right on Long Pond so that we could enjoy the water in the peaceful morning/evening as well as take longer kayak trips whenever we wanted. There is so much to explore. The owner was very responsive with any questions we had. Thank you Katherine for a piece of heaven!

Wonderful place

This property was great. 2 rooms with King beds, and lots of storage. Outside yard was large enough to play Bocce ball and dock was nice with ladder that made access for swimming and kayaking easy . Overall a wonderful property we’d love to come back to.
