Beautiful Gulf Views and Easy beach Access East Gorrie!! NO PETS

Imagine having your morning coffee on the front deck while enjoying the sound of the waves and view of the sunrise over the ocean. Located on East Gorrie Drive and only a few steps to the beach path, this condo has great views of the ocean, sunrise and sunset. You can often see the dolphins jumping in the water from the front deck which has two lounge chairs and two bar- height Adirondack chairs for your enjoyment.
Stargazing at night is amazing from the deck and beautiful courtyard located at the bottom of the stairs.
Three bedrooms and one bath with large open living, dining and kitchen area, plenty of room to bring the entire family. Our condos are clean, cute, cozy and comfortable with an old Florida vibe. There is a hot/cold shower located at the bottom of the stairs next to the laundry room so you can shower and rinse your beach gear and beach treasures.
Our condo is located 6.5 blocks from the playground, lighthouse and shopping areas. We provide two backpack beach chairs and an umbrella for your stay and beach toys in the trunk on the front deck.. There is a king, queen,and two twin beds which sleeps a total of sic (6), all comfortable with new linens, spreads and decor throughout the condo. You will find many upgrades including new solid surface countertops, new shower surround, new floors, ceilings and walls. This condo has been on the rental market for many years with the previous owner and has a long list of returning guests who will be surprised with the recent upgrades. The WiFi has recently been upgraded to Consolidated Internet . We have low rates so you can stay longer and come back more often!!
Please park one vehicle behind the other in front of the stairs. (LIMIT 2 Vehicles) No boats without permission from HOA.
We recommend that you purchase the TRAVEL INSURANCE to protect your investment in case you need to cancel for any reason. We have a Mr Coffee pot and try to provide filters. We provide two rolls-of toilet tissue and one roll of paper towels so you will have time to settle in before heading to the grocery store. We do allow pets, however, there is a pet fee. We would love to have you as our guests. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns prior to and during your stay. We are always here to help! SGI has recently upgraded their basketball courts to also include pickleball courts near the playground in the center of the Island near the Lighthouse! While we love our pets at home. And after an extensive remodel, we have decided to not allow pets in our condo

Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Check out instructions are posted on the fridge ! Please also close curtains and blinds to help keep cool and save on utilities! Please return patio furniture to the way it was and close umbrellas.
Please do not leave umbrellas open unattended. One gust of wind could destroy a $200 umbrella and cost you your deposit !
Please do not leave front door open or. Windows up when a/c in on! The a/c will freeze up and it will be very hot for the rest of your stay and you will lose your deposit !
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
No SUBLEASING; No GRILLING ON DECK; DO NOT OPEN WINDOWS OR DOORS UNLESS A/C IS OFF, UNIT WILL FREEZE UP AND YOU WILL FORFEIT DAMAGE DEPOSIT.
DO NOT bring beach chairs, towels, fishing gear, kayaks inside the condo, LEAVE AT BOTTOM OF STAIRS. A HOT/COLD shower is beside laundry room.

Great place for laid back ocean vacation.

Everything you need for your stay, plenty of kitchen supplies and nice linens. Great view of ocean with easy beach access. Small grocery nearby. Rent a bike and enjoy flat ground rides with nice views.

Amazing little beach house just steps to the beach. It was perfect for me and my husband and my dad stopped in for a night. Plenty of room, well stocked kitchen, beach chairs, all you need for a beach getaway. Gorgeous views from the front porch of sunrises and sunsets. We will definitely be coming back.

Just what we needed

This property really suited our needs well. The price was right, the location was perfect! This isn’t a luxury property, it feels like you’re staying with a long lost quirky aunt, but I would 100% go visit this aunt again! We were comfortable in the unit. Having the W/D available and the outdoor sink/shower was nice. We were able to easily get to the shops in one direction, and the State Park in the other direction. We brought our dog, and she was comfortable as well!Excellent choice!

Quiet cozy place!!

We loved our stay here! It was short walk to the beach! The view was great we saw dolphins from the balcony. It was stocked with anything you needed to cook with or even if you forgot something it most likely was there! We will be back!!

Very enjoyable stay

Really enjoyed our stay, it was perfect for the two of us. Condo was set up very nicely, all the appliances worked well and were on the newer side. Really appreciated the communication with the owner who was very responsive. Really liked that there were beach chairs and an umbrella made available which was great - all in good, usable shape. Beach was easily accessed and was very close. We would definitely rent it again.

Great Family Beach

We had a wonderful stay on St George Island. This property was perfect. It took about a minute to walk to the beach where we played and went swimming. We also saw dolphins from the beach and the front porch. Quaint little town. We will be back in the summer!

Stay was great. The location of the unit was amazing. Phyllis was extremely quick to respond if we needed anything. Main bed was very comfortable. We even asked where she got it. Place is a little dated, but you know that going in via the pictures. It was exactly what we needed for us and our pup. Not too many beach view/front places on SGI for two people. Will be back.

Photos we saw before we arrived depicted a freshly painted deck with colorful chairs and umbrellas. However, that was not what was there! After examining the deck, railing and gate, we decided this run down place was not adequate. We never even entered this dwelling and we traveled 4 1/2 hours home.. Never in all my years, and that’s been many, have I been so disgusted and insulted. Vrbo, you should be ashamed to even represent this property..So I give you and this property a “zero”.You have made money one time off me but never again!

So Kenneth, you never entered the condo!!! That is a shame that you had the nerve to rate a one star without entering much less staying there. To address your comments about the chairs, deck and umbrella: the colorful chairs are there; the umbrellas are on the deck for the guests to put up as needed because with te high winds, they can not be left on their stands; the gate, decking and rails are repainted often because on a barrier Island, they do require regular sprucing up. They were all repainted with $88/gallon paint. Two years ago. If you have ever owned property on a barrier Island, you know that it is near impossible to be first tier or on the water and be able to keep it looking freshly painted at all times. My housekeeper told me that she could tell that no-one had been there and I sent you a message asking if you were okay!! I will be willing to bet for the price you paid, you will not find a nicer place for that cost on the Island. We realize that it is not brand new but offer an affordable, Clean, cuter and cozy vacation home for others to be able to stay longer and come more often at our prices!

Coldest AC on SGI, steps from the ocean!

Stairway to Heaven has to have the coldest air conditioning on all of St. George Island, a must for those midday cool-down sessions when the sun is at its peak. The unit is located directly across the street from a beach access path, is well-appointed with beach chairs and umbrellas (though we brought our own tent) and the owners are responsive and friendly. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were incredibly comfortable. My mom is now looking to buy the same mattress for her own house. The unit is older, so the only downside is that electrical outlets are not abundant based on modern standards. Bring an extension cord or outlet expander if you have a lot of phones, devices, or computers you'll need to charge. We loved drinking coffee from the porch in the mornings, overlooking and listening to the ocean and would definitely consider staying here again.

I have to say the location was great, however, many updates were needed. The beds were okay, but the recliner and a chair in the den were awful because you could literally feel the springs in them when you sat. The couch and love seat were nice and newer. Towels reeked of cigarette smoke. The only thing we could figure out was that the housekeeper must wash them at her house and keep them there until needed. Silverware drawers needed to be wiped out. We had to go buy a nonstick pan, there were none there. Outdoor shower nozzle needs replacing while the hand held nozzle didn't work at all. Again, access to the beach was very easy, but honestly we wouldn't stay there again.

Thank you for your review along with explanations of why you. Rated your stay. So low. As an owner of a short-term rental, it is impossible for me to know these things without you letting me know. I purchased the recliner and chair new just a couple of years agofew ago but had no idea they were ready for replacement so soon. The towels smelling of cigarette smoke is unacceptable and I spoke to my housekeeper today and she had a reason, But that is unacceptable and I assure you it will not ever hauahain. Unfortunately not all guests do a great job of cleaning and organizing the drawers or take care of the pots and pans provided. I went down and added two additional frying pans. Spring and summer are a very busy time for us and the housekeepers who do their best to provide a clean and comfortable place for our guests. I am sorry you were not pleased but am sure that most people in our price range realize that it is not a new home and I have never had such. A poor rating. Perhaps you would be happier in an higher priced home that is brand new? If I had known about the towels while you were there, I would have insisted the housekeeper brought in morel. PhyllisCLindsey

Depends on what you’re looking for

Phyllis was very responsive and communicated very quickly when we needed her to. The dishes at the house were not very clean, we found a dead spider in a wine glass and there were smoked cigarettes left in a shell on the porch. The view was nice but obstructed by another house which wasn’t super clear from the photos. It was convenient she allowed dogs and had a high chair for our babies. I️ probably wouldn’t recommend this place to others because it just wasn’t quite nice enough for the price to me; things like paper towels, coffee and toilet paper were not included in the stay. It seemed super odd to be charged this much to stay at a place and not get those basic things. Very close to the beach so that was nice and the island was okay, it only has a small handful of restaurants and no coffee shops. I don’t regret our trip but I️ will opt to find someplace else in another location for next time and won’t be a repeat customer. Just wasn’t my style but for some families I’m sure it would be nice enough especially being dog and baby friendly

Disappointing and Misleading

The pictures make it look like you are renting the entire house when in reality it’s just the top floor. Additionally, the pictures are over 10 years old, the property is severely dated. There is a musty smell the second you enter the property. The carpet is patched with rubber cement so you scratch your foot anytime you graze the patch. The ceiling is sinking and coming apart in places. The dishes, cups and silverware are dirty. The small space is packed with random unnecessary furniture that makes it feel even smaller. The floor in the bathroom is buckling and the shower is covered in mold. The wi-fi is incredibly weak resulting in only 1 of the 3 televisions in the unit working. There is 1 washer and dryer shared across 5 units, so you could be sharing with upwards of 30 people. No matter how quiet and respectful you are of the guests on the bottom floor you will inevitably butt heads considering the proximity and how thin the walls are. The property owner is a micromanager who will relentlessly ping you with ticky tac comments about what she’s hearing from other people (downstairs unit). We love St. George island but we’ll never stay in this unit (or the other 4) again.

Brett, I was expecting a bad review from you as I could tell from your attitude each time we communicated that you were a defensive guest that could not be pleased! I only purchased the upstairs condo in 2019 and if you would have taken the time to read the description, you would have known. That the unit is still under renovation and each issue was addressed. The pictures are from a year ago not ten. I explained that the unit price was reduced due to cosmetic repairs that are being done. We had all of these repairs scheduled to be done when Covid hit. After that time, Contractors could not come in and renters were not allowed. The condo is clean, cute and cozy as described. My housekeeper charges a pet fee which you tried to get out of paying , there is a leash law on the Island and you didn’t obey, which caused an attack with another dog,, the description of the property tells that you are only renting the upstairs condo. You would not be accepted as a guest in my condo because of your lack of respect for my rules and the Island rules and your attitude when communicating. We offer an affordable place for families that love the Island and understand that WiFi and other amenities are not always available on a barrier island.

What makes this property unique

We purchased this upstairs condo in 2019. The condos were built in 1956 and have withstood many storms and hosted Msny. Guests who have enjoyed the views and closeness to the beach.
We endured Covid right after we purchased the condo. We replaced the heat/air unit and all of the windows immediately and purchased a lot of new. Furniture and all new linens.

We have completed all new ceilings, walls, floors, countertops, faucets. The condo has everything you can imagine & we offer you a clean, cute and. Cozy condo at a very affordable price .
