About this property
Stunning Views, 4Bd/4Ba Spacious Home between Asheville & Boone
Beautiful and spacious home with incredible views of the mountains, creek and treetops that has relaxing king size beds in all four bedrooms! Just a few short miles from Roan High Knob, where you will find the highest-elevation shelter on the entire Appalachian Trail. About an hour from shopping in Asheville, two ski resorts, Boone, a natural hot spring, Banner Elk, and more! Relaxation at its best nestled in the mountains of NC.
The home is a two story, 3,400 square feet log cabin with a tin roof situated on acres of rolling hills with a rocky creek running alongside. You will be greeted by nearly 1,100 square foot of wrap-around covered porch, and a small open deck space, with five gated step entrances leading into the large yard. Rocking chairs and two porch swings make the perfect touch for enjoying coffee in the morning and taking in the sunrise over the mountains, or a glass of wine in the evenings watching the sun disappear. On clear nights, you will have a breathtaking view of the starry sky, and the only sound you will hear is the creek rushing over the rocks! Winter often brings some fantastic sled riding right in the front yard!
The first level offers an open floor plan featuring a spacious kitchen, dining room, and a sitting area with a couch, two recliners, and a gas log fireplace. The kitchen is fully outfitted with all major appliances as well as some extras – dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave, duo coffee maker (regular pot & Keurig), blender, toaster, and KitcheAid stand mixer with attachments. Pots, pans, dinnerware, glassware, cooking utensils, and flatware are also provided. The dining table comfortably seats 8, and there are 3 additional seats at the kitchen counter breakfast area. There are two bedrooms on this level, including the master with private full bath with shower. The second bedroom has a full bath with a claw-foot bathtub and can be accessed from the bedroom or kitchen. A small room off of the kitchen provides a high-efficiency, front-loading washer and dryer and extra storage space. Up the stairs to the second level is a loft with comfortable couch for lounging and loveseat. On either end of the loft are the other two bedrooms, both with private full baths. Linens are provided. There are smart TV’s throughout the home, including one in the kitchen. The living room loft also has a DVD player with access to streaming options for your entertainment, and a desk with a printer for those who may need to stay in touch with school or work during their stay.
The house is situated next to the woods, so you may see some wildlife out and about (turkeys, pigs, deer, rabbits, groundhogs, etc...). Short drive to Carver's Gap, white water rafting, gem mining, or just about whatever adventure you desire. In the winter months 4WD/AWD is highly advised. We cannot guarantee clear roads or driveway during periods of snow.

About the host
Hosted by Jason & Gerri
Born & raised in KY and now living in NC. My wife and I love the outdoors and enjoying outdoor activities with our children.
Why they chose this property
This was the first home my wife & I looked at when we finally made the plunge to buy our life-long dream of a place in the mountains and we just fell in love. It was only owned by one family prior to our purchase and they paid great attention to details when building it.
What makes this property unique
There are so many great things to love about this home from sitting on the front porch rocking chairs and enjoying the mountain views & babbling creek to sitting in front of the tremendous fireplace in the open living room with your extended family and friends. Just a short drive up the hill from the house (literally 4 miles past our driveway) you will find the entrance to Carver's breathtaking.
