We enjoyed our stay here. We love that the pool was walkable and the little boys could play in the sandbox/playground. The beach (short drive) has grills, ping pong, and pickle ball courts. We would definitely stay again.
The condo was nice, it fit our group of 12 adults and did not feel crowded. The views were great, the most convenient part was the walkable bars associated with Shanty Creek. Owners were responsive and timely with communications. Would stay again!
Everything was just as advertised! Clean and spacious. Loved the decor and game tables. Owner was prompt in communication. No problems, would definitely stay here again!
We really had a perfect stay! The condo is really big, and perfect for the kids downstairs. The private beach was our family favorite. It was really close, clean, and we got lucky to be the only ones there both times! The indoor pool was useful for the rainy day. The communication was perfect-could not ask for better!
Annual golf trip with friends and decided to do Shanty Creek this year. Great experience. Location and amenities in condo and on premise are top notch. One thing to consider is that not many things are open in the area on Sunday so plan accordingly.
Location was perfect for having a large group being so close to a restaurant and bar. We tried to use the shuttle the resort offers but we were informed it is now only for hotel guests. Another thing that was left out of the listing was that a pass is needed for the beach area. Very short distance to downtown bellaire! Host was very responsive and helpful the entire stay
Our family of 6 enjoyed our time at the condo. The unit was spacious and clean, the older kids loved having their own space in the lower level. It was walkable to the playground, restaurants at the resort and the pool. We also took advantage of the lake access and had fun at the beach. The owners were responsive when we had an issue with the ac and acted swiftly to fix the problem. All-in, we had a really nice vacation and would definitely stay again.
3 generations had plenty of room in this condo and that was our primary concern. Golf was great for the guys. We cooked almost nightly and space was limited as was food storage options and serving spoons, so bring your own! A/C wasnt working correctly and owner was quick to offer help. Beds comfy!
Great central location for alot of area activities. Loved the games in basement and walk out to a beautiful view in backyard. Geared towards groups as there isn't an obvious primary bedroom which worked for us but just FYI. Internet and cable was spotty until we realized box was unplugged in basement. Owner was responsive to issue. Parking can be problematic if busy. Resort amenities not always available in off season. Met our expectations overall!
We went to the property to ski at schuss mountain. It is a short drive with an optional shuttle to Schuss. Also, it’s about a 25 minute drive to Boyne Mountain. The property was very clean. We enjoyed the Sauna and the fireplace. Fit our group of 8 perfect. We were disappointed to see this is not a ski in ski out. Which is the main reason we rented the property to keep our kids busy. It is my understanding that the lift hasn’t been operating in 2 years. The description and pictures need to be updated.
The condo was as described, two bedrooms on the main floor, each having 2 queen beds and their own bathroom. Downstairs adjacent to game room/great room is another bedroom space (no door) and another full bathroom with sauna, plus two sets of bunk beds. Fully equipped kitchen which we used every day. Perfect for our family vacation (3 generations). Would definitely rent again.
Fire pit is right outside our back door, and playground is just a few steps away, as is the lodge/hotel which has an indoor pool, outdoor pool, Starbucks, and restaurant. Also just steps away is an adult pub and Sarducci's restaurant which has a menu that satisfied us all (tall order!)
What wasn't clear in the listing was the location of the beach. You have to drive to it, but only about 5 minutes. Turn left out of the lodge parking lot and drive to Shanty Creek Road. Turn left and go a couple of miles where it dead-ends into Route 88. Turn left on 88, and travel about a mile past the Dollar General. There is a small sign at the turnoff that indicates a boat launch- that is the turnoff for the beach as well. There's decent parking there, shaded areas for picnicking, nice playground, restrooms, and plenty of beach chairs. Water is very shallow with a gradual slope, even smaller children can wade out pretty far without going over their waist. We made good use of the beach area throughout the week.
Loved this vacation, will definitely return in the future!

Annual Ski trip
Upon arrival, I was very confused by the online description and what I was pulling into. I thought it was the wrong address, due to the online description, states walking distance from ski hill. This is not walking distance from any ski hill, it is a 10 minute drive from any ski hill that is currently in service. The chairlift shown in the pictures is outside the small second floor deck, but has not ran since 2017 and when it did run it only ran a small 5 trail ski hill. The fire pit outside was a rusted old fire ring that had yellow caution tape on it. The basement is not a walk-out unless u want to walk out under the stairs of other complexes. The accommodations were clean, but a small kitchen, dining room and living room that could only accommodate comfortably 6-7 and only 4 eating at a table.
This is a 2 floor condominium without access to a ski hill without a drive, but listed, priced and pictured as it is right on the ski hill. The listing is very misleading, my family and guests we invited on this annual ski trip were very disappointed when we arrived to find out we would be driving 3 kids under 10 and 3 teenagers back and forth, to a completely different area to ski each day. PLEASE READ before booking so that you know what you are getting into.

Hi Rachel,
First, I want to apologize for you thinking we were trying to be misleading being a ski in/skiout. That was definitely not our intent. Shanty was leaning toward opening the summit ski hill this year but when they announced it wasn't going to be feasible, we were quite disappointed. We then went in to change our listing verbiage. When I saw your review, I went back and looked at how it was stated. It does look like we missed a spot and could see where you could feel mislead. For that, I want to give my sincere apologies and you will be seeing a refund for our error. We also took down the photo of the kids on the deck with the lift in the back. We try to be as transparent and responsive as possible, and we missed the target on this.
I also want to apologize for the yellow tape in the firepit and I will let the grounds keepers know as it does get shared from time to time. The fire ring is actually only 2 years old and with all the elements, rust is inevitable.
As for the walk out deck, that is on the main floor not the lower level. It is pictured in the photos and is 8x12ft deck with 8 steps down to the back area overlooking the gorgeous valley.
The kitchen, table and everything in the condo is photo'd and we have an arial floor plan to get a good feel for what is offered. The second living room in the lower level opens it up so much to accommodate many people.
Things happen, but when we make a mistake, we always try to make it right. I truly am sorry for any inconvenience this caused and hope the refund makes up for this.
Brought a group of kids up snowboarding for mid-winter break. The basement was the perfect hangout spot for them, and they loved the added bonus of being able to use the hotel pool and hot tub.
We stayed here for our extended family Christmas weekend and everything was just right. Great communication from owner before and during our stay. Convenient location for easy access to resort facilities. Cozy and fun place to stay.
Great location at Shanty Creek. Plenty to do for adults and kids both at Shanty Creek and the surrounding area. Hard to beat up north in Michigan in the summer time!
The house was just as described. Very clean and comfortable. Access was easy. So much for families to do at Shanty Creek. Hope to be back next summer.
