About this property
Grandma's Mountain Cabin - Up and Running
September 27, 2024, is a day we will never forget here in WNC. Hurricane Helene wreaked havoc to this area of our mountains. Slowly but surely, we are rebuilding. Grandma's Cabin was miraculously spared and is now up and running. We do need to let everyone know that the road conditions are rough in some parts. The town of Chimney Rock is closed to the public while being rebuilt, Despite the devastation there is still so much beauty in this area in the land and people. We ask that you please abide the signs and the workers and support our communities. Thank you
Step back in time with this rustic mountain cabin yet enjoy all the modern amenities of this 2 br/1 bath fully remodeled gem located on a 6 acre private, peaceful estate.
Hang out with family and friends on the front porch in the rockers or try out the ever relaxing porch swing or grill out on the back porch. Soak away a day of hiking in the spa on the front porch,
As you enter the front door you will be amazed at the attention to detail and thought that went into the design and furnishing to make sure your stay is fun and relaxing. Enjoy the gas fireplace for those chilly nights. Fresh linens and towels are provided and a washer and dryer are on site along with detergents etc.
The decor is just what you would expect to find in the Smoky mountains of Western NC. With the leather reclining sofas, the overstuffed reading chairs, fully stocked kitchen, spices, paper products, wall mounted TV in both bedrooms and living room, DVD library, and board games and so much more. We also have high speed internet so bring that laptop. There is a desk with ample space for your laptop and basic office supplies. Comfy Posturepedic queen beds and a twin roll out bed for extra sleeping arrangements.
At night sit by the open firepit and toast marshmallows or hike the many mountain trails when the sun comes up and breathe that fresh mountain air or just relax in the hot tub or pitch a game or horseshoes. Firewood is provided. This estate is a little piece of heaven with natural laurels, rhododendrons and even some hard-to-find wildlife which has been known to visit throughout the year so don't be surprised to see a mama deer with her twin fawns or a wild turkey.
Conveniently located minutes from Chimney Rock State Park ,Lake Lure, Black Mountain, Asheville, and Hendersonville. Don't forget to visit the landmark cider mill just minutes away and shop the quaint stores of downtown Chimney Rock. Tryon International Equestrian is approximately 35 minutes from cabin. Black Bear Snow Tubing is located about 7 miles from cabin. We are pet friendly, kid friendly, a true family vacation that will make memories for years to come.

Just the right little cozy getaway for our small family. To spend some quality time together. Fully equipped. Sorry to still see so much devastation from the flood in this area. But loved the house
Nice and cozy atmosphere/decor, very clean, perfect for a stay-in weekend getaway. Sizeable bathroom and shower. Only hiccup was that, although listing does specify "basic soaps," it would have been nice to have something other than hand soap (like body wash) available for the recommended pre-and-post hot tub shower. VERY quiet peaceful location. Hot tub was very clean and well maintained, albeit a teensy cramped to try and fit more than 2 adults. Very comfortable beds and furniture, plenty of towels, linens, and blankets. Excellent wifi signal. Lots of lighting. Plenty of cookware. Driveway was easy to drive into/park/manouver in. Would absolutely recommend.
If you are looking for a place where you can disconnect from everyday life this is the place. This property is private and quiet. I will booking another trip here very soon.
My neighborhood is WWIII during the first week of July and my dog gets very angry at the sound so I was looking for somewhere to get away from it all. This was that place. We had a wonderful time hiking Chimney Rock and walking around Asheville. Great location. Close to everything and quiet. Definitely will make it a yearly trip.
Amazing place to stay...this was our 5th time staying here and every time we hate to leave. We can't recommend Grandma's Cabin enough. We will definitely be back!
This house was perfect for us, our two daughters, and pups. Great location, close enough to the city and activities but secluded enough to enjoy the quiet of the woods.
I decided to take the wife away from the chaotic Charlotte hustle bustle for our 12 year wedding anniversary - and this spot did not disappoint. I had no idea Bat Cave was literally cut off from the outside world after Helene. Having to drive through the town and seeing the remnants of what had happened was heart breaking. We will be praying for the Bat Cave community and will return soon to support the locals!
We loved staying here. Everything was exactly as described and very clean. Although we were well prepared for our stay, we could have come unprepared and unpacked and enjoyed it just as much. The house was generously stocked with everything you could need to stay comfortably. Also, the property is beautiful and quiet. It is quite a trip to the closest grocery store though. We will be staying again.
