Beautiful cabin in a beautiful spot! Everything we needed was provided and in good condition. Our only complaint is that we had questions prior to our stay and the responses were very delayed when they occurred at all.Awesome place, though!
We really enjoyed our stay! The cabin is beautiful and has all the amenities needed for a comfortable family stay. Kids really enjoyed the open space, the walk to the creek and also the fire pit to make smores. We would love to visit again!
The inside of this house is dated. Also, though 50-65 outside, we also had difficulty getting the room temperature to a reasonable level for the first 12-24 hours using the heater alone (though we didn't use the fireplaces). It was clean and well-equipped.

The place was amazing. We had an absolute blast. We will do this again
Cute rustic cabin. Retro original 60s-70s style but everything is in great condition. Has everything you could need for a great getaway. Only saw one restaurant (pizza) in Shingletown and not much else around so we meal planned and bought groceries at local grocery store for all meals. Stream in back is amazing to sit and relax as is upstairs balcony. WiFi worked great. Sun room. Outdoor patio with fire pit looked inviting but we didn’t use it.

The pictures don't do justice to this property. The red carpet makes the pictures look dated, but the property is immaculate.
The house is as equipped as they come and they are generous enough to provide firewood, charcoal, starters...
And you can see that the property is made and maintained with lot of history and love. Its a gem
Great central location , nice house and neighbors , will definitely return !

Thank you! I’m so glad you found Battle Creek Retreat to be comfortable, and that you had an enjoyable stay. There’s definitely something about the elevation, the trees, the sounds, the smells, the sights, and the wildlife that makes it feel so inviting and calming. Even though our time spent there involves cleaning, Battle Creek Retreat tends to have a therapeutic effect. My husband and I appreciate your rating and review. Again, thank you! Kathy
Very nice cabin well stocked with a great location. There is plenty of room on the property for walking around and taking in the scenery. At the bottom of the hill there is a fast flowing creek with a deck overlooking the water, very relaxing atmosphere. Overall a very enjoyable cabin.
Love the location, close to lassen, Burney falls, hat creek and more. House was well stocked with essentials and a lot of room to to enjoy. Maybe needs a little TLC in some areas but I would definitely stay there again and plan on it.

What makes this property unique
The beauty of the mountains can be found in the many lakes, streams, and forests. The elevation is about 4000 feet, so in a typical year, there is snow in the winter time, allowing for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and sledding. In the summer time, the main draw is Lassen Volcanic National Park. There are several points of interest within an hour's drive of Battle Creek Retreat. The springtime is beautiful with the redbud and dogwood in bloom. The fall is equally as beautiful with the many leaves of brilliant color. Our property provides activities within a short walk. Battle Creek runs along one border of our property. In fact our property goes to the middle of the creek. Kids and dogs alike love to play in the creek. Lake McCumber is within walking distance. There are several logging trails where guests can walk their dogs, although no motorized vehicles are allowed. On the back patio there is a gazebo, firepit, a picnic table, and a lot of seating. It is enclosed to give it a feel of complete privacy, although a lack of privacy is certainly not an issue at Battle Creek Retreat.
